Friends with a corrupt Goddess

(Lame title I know.A fluffy fic with a gender neutral reader with @vellich ‘s corrupt goddess Choromatsu. Platonic or romantic it’s up to you! And sorry Velli if he’s OOC or something. But, hope you like it!)

After traveling in Akatsuka forest for what seemed like hours, you finally reached your destination.

The place that was once light, vibrant green and teeming with life was now dark, the trees bare, plants withered and grass dead. The lake was soot-black and was at one time so clear you could see your reflection in the water. These changes happened months ago.

  The Goddess Choromatsu was corrupted by the demon Osomatsu with the help of a witch named Todomatsu. He was betrayed by a person he trusted deeply.

  You had gotten to know Choromatsu over the last few months. His personality had changed a bit since his corruption, but he still had parts of his other self-intact. He called Osomatsu a bastard and wanted to kill him and make him suffer just like he did. You couldn’t blame him. His trust destroyed by who he thought was a dear friend.

  “You came back!” A familiar voice rang out.

A figure rose from the lake. It was him. The sclera of his eyes was the same color as his black lake. His once white toga was now dark and he had sludge that dripped from his arms and other parts of his body. Another thing was that his teeth were sharper.

“I’m so happy you came back!” his voice cheery as he stepped out of his lake. You ran up to him and hugged him, careful of his sludge since it would burn you. “You’re so sweet! You’re the only human that I like Y/N. ” He embraced you back carefully.

“I just wanted to come to see you and I just want to stay with you for a while,” you told him touching his face. 

His dark eyes lit up. “Thank you so much and I am better company than most humans aren’t I?” he asked you his smile dropping.

“Of course! Don’t doubt yourself now. If I could, I would stay with you more, but I do have to go back home and tend to other things.”

“I know you would, but, I understand. Even I have duties to attend. But, if that bastard ever dares to show his face, I will kill him.” he clenched his fist and a dark aura surrounded him.

“Choromatsu don’t think about him. He will get what’s coming. I don’t know when, but he will.” You gave him a smile. The Goddess relaxed and smiled back. You both lay next to each other and chatted for hours.

The topics varied from your home life, your job, people in town, and the mysteries of life. Despite being corrupted, Choromatsu still had a softer side. He only showed you this side as he didn’t trust many others.

  “I  never thought I could trust again after what that red bastard did to me, but you I can trust. Even though you’re a mortal. I know you’ll age and you will die and that makes me sad, but perhaps I can see you again but in spirit form.”

You nodded. “Of course! I always want to be friends with you. I know people think you’re scary and intimidating, but they haven’t gotten to know you yet. But, I’m glad it can just be us you know?”

“Indeed Y/N”

You both sat in silence and stared at the stars that began to appear in the night sky. You both talked until you finally fell asleep. Choromatsu touched your hair softly. With a few words and a wave of his hand, you found yourself back in your bed at home.

You could still feel the warmth of his hand on your hair. With that, you fell back asleep and couldn’t wait to see him again tomorrow.
