I would like to ask Sebastian if he takes care not to really smile fully in front of most humans. It seems to me he does, dealing it out where it will be the most useful. His smile seems to reveal much more of his true demonic nature than is usually wise to reveal. It seems it could be a really powerful weapon when you might want to rattle some humans, like those Germans in that Panzer for instance, making them realise they're dealing with one who is deeply dangerous and not just another human.

I have a strong hold on my human facade. As to what I reveal through my smiles, I take great care to only give a glimpse and see who is paying attention.

Comparing the two volume covers

Two similar, but completely different volume covers, featuring two similar, but entirely different characters. Interesting. 

First, we have volume six, which gives us our!Ciel, sitting straight, almost uncomfortable on his chair, oozing a sort of fake  confidence and superiority. He is the Earl of Phantomhive, who knows, sees and commands everything. His outfit is pitch black, but his skin is bright, with slight patches of red - he’s alive. His shirt is white, his eyepatch is on his right eye, as well as the roses; his pin is on the left. He’s looking down at us - at everything. He’s the lord, the owner, and he shall not bow his head to anyone (but the queen).

Fast forward, twenty one volumes later. Same chair, same coat, same hat, same gloves, same shorts - a different person. It’s supposed to be the same chair, but this person seems slightly taller, bigger. Who is he, looking at us through his lashes with so much mischief in his eyes? He’s come to bring troubles, but he tips his hat at us, smiling - he’s trying to charm us. He’s not trying to prove us that he’s superior, that he’s a noble, because there is no reason to do that. You can feel it just by looking at him.

Oh, but his skin is pale white, his cheeks show no color. His shirt is gray, his outfit -the same outfit- feels gray and tired, worn out; it whispers death. His ring is missing. His bow is smaller, flattened. His pin is on the right side, the roses are on the left - mirroring his brother’s. Mirror twins? Yes, they are.

Also, who does real!Ciel remind you of? But of course, his father.

To be honest, I was absolutely certain that we’d get real!Ciel on the cover of this volume. I’m hoping for another cover sometime with either both twins, either real!Ciel mirroring volume 18′s cover (when he dies, eventually). I’m also expecting another death attire, of this sort, for our!Ciel.

Hello Mr Ciel. I'm new in Your blog that I found It Interesting. My question: How have you been since the quarentee of Covid 19 started? What were You and Seb's reaction about the many problems that 2020 year brought With?

Honestly, we don’t really pay attention to the matters of the human realm. But, we are spending a lot of time in our little corner of Hell watching hime videos and our favorite movies. Sebastian and I are especially fond of “Hannibal” and “Sherlock”. I put on “Worst Cooks in America” when I’m mad at him.

Hello Ciel, you have a strong personality, it seems like you can manage every situation thinking in what is the most convenient thing to do, how can you be this way, how can you keep a cold mind and stay strong even in the hardest situations?, any advice to be able to be like that?

It is a rather difficult thing to accomplish. It is important to think ‘outside of yourself’. You must get out of your own head to best think pragmatically.

we spend so long talking about how much sebastian values and treasures ciel and yet at the end of season 2 when ciel turns into a demon - sebastian looks so sad and miserable? there’s no delight or gratitude there. what do you think?

I actually always say that in my eyes, S2 is a love letter from Sebastian to Ciel! It has ellipses and missing words, sometimes missing sentences; some pages were left intentionally blank, but ultimately, it’s all about feelings. 

Sebastian allows Ciel to become a demon. He was told clearly that the moment Ciel wakes up, he’ll do it soulless. Rather than killing him on sight, Sebastian cradles him in his arms and waits. He attacks afterward, when it can’t actually hurt Ciel. Instead of still killing him, Sebastian goes along with the charade and keeps doing his butler duties. Demons can kill their masters without serious repercussions, we saw that on the example of Claude and Alois. Sebastian has every right to kill Ciel - more than that, he’s in direct proximity to the sword that can help him with this. And yet, he stays. 

Ciel acts like he’s in control, Sebastian acts like he has to obey him, but they both know it’s a charade. It’s so palpable in the moment where Sebastian pretends to make tea and Ciel pretends to drink it. They try to stick to their routine desperately because they feel lost, confused, and scared. Ciel knows what could happen to him any moment - he saw what became of Alois. Sebastian knows he doesn’t have to do anything anymore, but he can’t bring himself to kill Ciel to terminate their bond. He can’t face the idea of being invested in someone so much either, though, because this is it - he told himself countless excuses before to prolong the contract, but now there are no lies left. So he’s miserable and lost, going through motions and unable to make a decision, incapable of admitting he needs Ciel yet equally incapable of killing him. 

It’s such an open ending, but I find it extremely beautiful!

Question for Sebastian: What is cuter, Ciel or kittens?

The answer would be both. But for the sake of the question the answer is Ciel as he has the ability to turn himself into a kitten.

183 THAT BUTLER, CLARIFYING

I was a little scared and very excited to draw this particular frame. The whole fandom loves him so dearly… In addition, here Ciel is a character that I handle with great care. It took me a long time to finish. In the end, there were three options, but there will only be two. They are the same and different at the same time. The first drawing is made in the style of watercolors from old, slightly faded and yellowed pages of children’s books of the Victorian era. And it is as realistic as possible, it reflects the reaction of a tortured, weakened child who is faced nose to nose with a powerful otherworldly force that threatens to take away his soul. Here is Phantomhive, surprised, but persistent.The second option is grotesque. It reflects my interpretation of this frame and adds a bit of a grin. 

Yes, I’m on the “dark side” of Kuroshitsuji !

While I was redrawing, repeating with my own hands, what the author of frame once did, I began to understand him more. First of all, it is very close, closer than I previously perceived this location. Intimately close. The demonic gaze clearly saw somewhere inside the boy his bright and very appetizing soul. Therefore - reflex salivation! Like Pavlov’s dog ))))) Only now it will be Fantomhive’s dog! Second, the boy definitely doesn’t like this pose. He would avenge such frivolous treatment of him! Third, this soiled shirt and bruises on the bulging areas of the child’s face… While I was drawing them, it became all too obvious exactly how he got them. It’s hard to think about… Fourthly, it seems to me that this damn demon could not miss the moment of maximum convergence. So he lightly touches the pulse on the boy’s carotid artery with his ring finger, and with his thumb smears his demonic defecation on the plump Pantomhive’s cheeks. 

As a result, my favorite boys froze in this pose, which warms the imagination of young shipers. But I’m not worried about the purity of the baby’s soul. From this position Phantomhive always can suddenly bite the demon by the nose!

Sebastian and I are not technically married but we are mates. I regard him as my husband though and he feels the same. We have been mates for little over a century now.
