I sighed through my nose. "You act like you're blameless in the deterioration of our friendship." I swirled my coffee in the mug, likely cold now but that didn't matter.

Vox put his down. "I never said I wasn't."

"You implied it. No, the fact of the matter is you pushed things too hard and too soon and when I told you no you found yourself a yes man. Someone who was easier, in more ways than one." I smirked, not caring about any digs I got in at that freak he calls a partner.

His screen flickered a little bit more and that grip on his mug looked like it was going to shatter. "That's not-"

"True? If it wasn't true we wouldn't be here." I stood up and he actually looked a little panicked. "You chose someone who won't get in your face about important things, make you feel some type of way, challenge you." I moved around the table, my voice going lower. "We both know how you love a challenge."

I started to walk away, this convo would only go in circles from this point. But I was stopped when a hand grabbed my wrist.

How bold.

I look at Vox's hand grasping me raising an eyebrow with a silent question. "Don't leave...... We're not done."

I should leave......... Glancing to the clock I have a few more minutes. I sit back down and he lets go. "Alright, you have ten minutes."

Walking to the café was the easy part, sitting down in a patio seat was also easy. What wasn't easy was the waiting. Never a fan.

As a distraction, I fiddled with my radio staff and sipped on a water.

Part of myself thought he wouldn't show, that this was a ruse. Even so I could still enjoy a nice afternoon at a nice café.

Alone.

It wasn't until the distant sound of static snapping did I look up and Vox was only a few feet away. Was that a new suit? Or just one I haven't seen before?

"I see you made it."

Tilting my head to I looked at him curiously. "Too much? Why, the only thing I've really changed are the people within my company."

"You have a cellphone now." Came the reply, I removed the troublesome device from the pocket of my coat holding it up.

"Ahh yes, this cursed little thing. I don't have one because I want one, it's more of a formality for promoting the hotel on that stupid little tumblr site."

Truth be told I haven't even used it for much else, not even calls or those 'texts' that Angel goes on about. "You say I've changed, but so have you." I put the phone back.

"It's been a while. It's just...... When I asked you...."

His words hung in the air, I knew what he meant. I didn't change for him...... But he changed things on me too quickly and just expected me to go with the flow. "You can't expect a person to change who they are overnight Vox. Though, you certainly did."

There it was, a flicker in his screen. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means, once the other two came into the picture you wanted to change everything every right way. Especially for him." My voice snapped with static on the last word, just thinking of that moth. Valentino makes me sick on a whole different level. "We both might have made our shitty choices, but I warned you about him...... I still believe he'll be your downfall. And you chose him anyway. You moved on with someone else and then have the audacity to be mad at me because I was content with how things were at the time."

Maybe Charlie's weird little sessions on honesty actually help. It's fucking weird though.
