It’s been a while

Anybody remember this blog? I’ve decided to jump back into Tumblr Pokemon RP. I’ve made a new blog so I can branch out properly into multimuse and I didn’t want to just radically alter this one. Billie and Cole are still available on the new blog! They’re just accompanied by some canon characters too (Lysandre, Piers and Silver to be exact).

‘Thanks! That’ll make my guys happy,’ Billie smiled gratefully, taking one and offering it to the Liepard, who took it in her mouth and went to the other side of the room to eat it.

‘We’ll see you then,’ Cole nodded, looking forward to getting some proper training in.

‘Yeah! You’re a lot stronger than us so we’d have a lot to learn,’ Billie smiled. ‘My guys can always use the exercise.’ On cue, her Liepard leapt through the open window, having been let out earlier for a wander. Billie beckoned the cat Pokemon over to her and scratched her behind the ears.

“Sounds like a plan. I have a bit of teaching experience, so to speak, so if you ever want some advise that’s more on the detailed side, let me know.”

Back when she was one of the “rising stars” of the Trainers’ School, Cataleya often tutored younger students who were trying to better understand the theory and practice of Pokemon battling. The finer details aren’t always easy to grasp.

Getting up off the bed, the admin says to the two grunts, “Meet me by the pool after lunch for training. And you can have the rest of the malasadas.”

Konani stops in the middle of reaching for a fourth pastry. She looks sad now.

‘I should get looking, then…’ Billie mused. ‘Someone’s gotta breed them, maybe?’

‘Right!’ Cole nodded. ‘What about your team? How’re they holdin’ up? If they ever want any trainin’ partners, we’d be up for it.’ 

Grin widening, Cataleya says, “My team’s holding up just fine. And I’ll be doing a bit training with my team later today. You two should drop by.”

At the mention of training, Konani looks up from her third malasada with a look of determination on her face. She’s cute and sweet, but she enjoys battling just as much as the next Pokemon. Will Billie and Cole’s teams pose a challenge?

‘I should get looking, then...’ Billie mused. ‘Someone’s gotta breed them, maybe?’

‘Right!’ Cole nodded. ‘What about your team? How’re they holdin’ up? If they ever want any trainin' partners, we’d be up for it.’

‘I love Rowlet! They’re so cute,’ Billie enthused. She knew it was just a pipe dream, however, and sighed. ‘But I don’t think the professor’d let me have one. Probably never happenin’…’

‘Electrike is pretty cool. I dunno where you find ‘em, though,’ Cole admitted.

Ah. Rowlet’s been a popular one since they started distributing them as starter Pokemon in Alola. She’s always preferred Litten, though. Popplio’s okay, too.

“It wouldn’t be easy, but it’s sometimes possible to find them in the wild. The Professor only has most of the Rowlet population under his watch.” Looking from Billie to Cole, she says, “I think those are found at Poke Pelago. You know, those islands that are used as a sort of resort for Pokemon?”

The Pokemon that the grunts want aren’t the easiest to find, but it’s possible.

‘I love Rowlet! They’re so cute,’ Billie enthused. She knew it was just a pipe dream, however, and sighed. ‘But I don’t think the professor’d let me have one. Probably never happenin’...’

‘Electrike is pretty cool. I dunno where you find ‘em, though,’ Cole admitted.

“That’s always exciting,” the admin replies with a nod.

It’s only recently that Cataleya started training more Pokémon again. She’d had a team of five Psychic-types for so long that it was weird getting used to the changes in their training routines and such but she loves her new teammates.

“Do you have any specific Pokémon in mind? Or are you just going to wait and see what kind of Pokémon you come across out there?”

Cole and Billie each only have two Pokémon, so the idea of diversifying their teams is also a good idea from a strategic standpoint.

Void tilted his head back and the bean fell to the floor. He quickly scooped it up and ate it, tail thumping against the floor excitedly.

‘Fuck yeah, nice,’ Cole said, taking a bite. ‘Thanks!’

 ‘We’re good,’ Billie smiled. ‘I was just thinkin’ I should expand my team some more. Not like there’s anythin’ wrong with my two! But I figured it might be fun if someone else joined us.’

‘Same here.’

Seeing that Void has settled at her feet, Cataleya reaches into her pocket and retrieves a Pokébean, which is then placed gently on the Mightyena’s nose.

“I brought them to share, so go for it!” she reassures, somewhat amused by his hesitation. It’d be rude to bring treats and not share. “So, how’ve things been going with you two? You and your Pokémon all doing all right?”

Though she meant for this to be a casual visit, the need to make sure Billie and Cole are doing okay is still there, so it’s best to get the question out of the way.

Void happily accepted the petting, and moved to sit by Cataleya’s legs once she had sat down. The Mightyena was a sucker for attention.

‘I’m okay to have one of these?’ Cole asked, picking up a malasada. He had to admit, he was hungry. Billie sat down on the opposite bed, bringing her feet up and crossing her legs.

After stepping into the grunts’ room, Cataleya waits, giving them a moment to do whatever they need to do to clear a spot for the admin to sit down. While that’s happening, she bends down slightly to pet Void, if he’ll allow it.

“Don’t worry about it, Cole. This is nothing,” she says, giving a smile that she hopes will show that she’s fine and doesn’t mind. Besides, their room isn’t that bad. She’s seen worse. In fact, Guzma’s tends to be one of the worst ones.

Once a spot on the bed is cleared, she sits next to Konani, who’s face is covered in powdered sugar from her malasada. This Raichu sure loves her sweets.

‘Sure! Come in, we’ll make room,’ Billie smiled, holding the door open for Cataleya. Void the Mightyena looked up and sniffed the air, sensing newcomers and food. 

‘Excuse the mess,’ Cole said, looking over the room, which could certainly stand to be tidier. He felt a sudden wave of embarrassment. ‘Woulda cleaned up if I’d known you were comin’.’

“It’s just me…” the admin says in response to the other grunt’s question. Then to Billie she says, “Hope you don’t mind me dropping by. Cole and I were talking about hanging out more the other day and I felt spontaneous.”

While the humans are chatting, Konani decides to just float into the room. Then, once she’s set the box of malasadas down, she sits down on one of the beds.

She may be able to use her powers to float, but the Raichu like’s relaxing, too.

Billie was the one to answer the door. Her uniform was lax, as she had no further plans for the day, her bandana around her neck and her shoes kicked off somewhere in her room. 

‘Oh, hey!’ she greeted brightly, then looking at Konani and seeing the malasadas. ‘Ooh, those look nice!’

‘Who is it?’ Cole called from inside, dragging himself off the bed and coming to the door as well.

“Sounds like a plan…” Cataleya says with a nod before heading inside.

As she thought, Cole’s a chill guy. Now she’s looking forward to the idea of hanging out with him and Billie. Her Pokémon would appreciate having more friends as well – even Harry, her Kadabra, as antisocial as he tries to be.

A few days later, the admin and her Raichu are going up the stairs to the room shared by the two grunts she’s planning on paying a visit. Konani is carrying a box of malasadas for them to share. Hopefully this isn’t too forward of her…

Once she finds the right door, she knocks a couple times. Then she waits.

‘Oh, okay. Yeah, I’ll see you around,’ Cole smiled, standing up and stretching. It was nice to get to know some of the others better, and Cataleya seemed a good, level-headed sort of person. ‘We could get all the Pokemon together or somethin’, let ‘em play. You know where to find me, if you wanna.’  

Cataleya shakes her head, still smiling. “I don’t know if you’d be able to handle that kind of popularity. Even endless love and praise can be annoying when you can’t leave your room without at least a few people trying to earn your favor.”

Again, she’s guilty of that, too, but it was a long time ago and she’s fairly sure Guzma can’t remember her from her early days as a grunt. She’s changed.

Glancing at her phone, she says, “I should check and see that lunch prep’s underway. It’s been a good chat, Cole. We should do this again sometime.”

‘Well ain’t that unexpected.’

‘Hey, as if I’d do somethin’ like that! They must be the the wrong way round.’

‘I know, right?’ Cole grinned. ‘Wish I were as popular as he is. How does he do it, huh?’ He knew the reason, of course. Guzma was a very charismatic person, and it’s easy to be awed by somebody like him. 

“Alright then…”

At the mention of Billie having a crush on Guzma, she giggles. Cataleya’s guilty of feeling the same way at some point. Same thing with Plumeria. Thankfully, it’s passed. Now they’re just the head admin and boss to her, for the most part.

“If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard about a grunt having a crush on him, I could probably afford a Frappuccino or something from Starbucks.”

((Small update I guess... very much enjoying Ultra Moon so far! I’d like to get back into this blog more but I guess I’m a bit intimidated at the prospect? I wanna use my two losers again))

‘Was just wonderin’. Seems like you’re pretty tight, and I was curious about it.’ Cole then grinned. ‘And you know Billie’s got a thing for him. Bet that happens a lot, huh?’

How well does she know Guzma…?

Cataleya shrugs. “No one knows him quite as well as Plumeria does…but we’ve sort of become close since I was promoted. We have some similar interests and whatnot. Besides, I can’t imagine him keeping an admin he doesn’t like.”

She and Guzma have a few things in common besides interests. They were both talented trainers as children and aspired to be trial captains, but something got in the way of that dream and it’s forever changed them in one way or another.

Finishing off the last of her lemonade, she sets the bottle on the ground.

Looking back at Cole, she raises a brow. “Why do you ask? Just curious?”

The rp community can be so difficult lately, and everyone seems to be picky. But do not doubt yourself okay? Your writing skills will improve, and your character will develop. If need be, take a break from tumblr, sit down, and write a prompt just for you to enjoy. Things will be okay.
