Oh my twitchy, witchy girl, I think you are so nice. I give you bowls of porridge. I give you bowls of ice cream. I give you lots of kisses. I give you lots of hugs, but I never give you sandwiches with greasy worms and mung beans. Coraline (2009) dir. Henry Selick

The White House is one of the most famous buildings in America found in the nation’s capital of Washington D.C. The White House was built in 1792 and with all that history means there are a lot of hauntings going on there as well. The ghost of Abigail Adams is seen in a shawl and a cap walking to the East Room where was where she used to dry her clothes. The ghost of David Burns was even reported by a seamstress who late one night heard a voice say “I’m Mr. Burns.” Andrew Jackson’s ghost has also been reported. Mary Todd Lincoln used to do séances to talk to her dead sons and she reported that she heard Andrew Jackson stomping down the halls and swearing and Andrew Jackson’s old bedroom now called “The Rose Room” is one of the most haunted rooms in the White House. The most famous ghost however is that of Abraham Lincoln. He was first seen by Gracie Coolidge looking out a window at the Potomac River. Eleanor Roosevelt and Lady Bird Johnson also felt Lincoln’s presence. Winston Churchill even saw Lincoln’s ghost while he was naked after getting out of the bath to get his cigar.

The Horton Mine
A brave man ventures into the haunted Horton Mine located in Nevada. He has a very uneasy feeling the second he steps into the mine. Things get even more strange when he walks into one part of the cave and sees a single 40 lb chain swinging back and forth. It would take a lot of effort for a chain that heavy to swing as steadily as it does. The man describes feeling like there is someone standing infront of him.
VIDEO
During his second visit to the mine a year later, he hears a very strange sound at the end of THIS video. HERE is an audio of the sound he hears with all other noise removed. The sound is followed by a sudden blast of cold air which scares him into leaving the mine.

Chloe’s Ghost
So, to preface this, I was 10 or 11 when the events of the story happened, so some memories of the events are unclear/foggy.
So, when I was 10, I moved from a town in Wyoming to a booming oilfield city in North Dakota. It was early summer, and my sister and I were getting ready to go to my biological father’s house for the summer.
While we were gone, my mom and stepdad put together our rooms, and this is where the story really starts.
We lived in an older house. Like maybe early 1900s-1920s old. We had someone across the parking lot of the courthouse come by on her walk and tell us a little bit about the story later. Anyway, my mother got up one morning and wandered over to the one bathroom on the second floor of the house. On the way there, she noticed something strange. My room was the one closest to the bathroom, and though she had made the bed the night before, a corner of the sheets where pulled down, like a child had been sleeping in my bed. (She later asked my stepdad, who was an alcoholic, if he had slept there, and he denied it.)
Fast forward a year or so, I had several experiences of this little girl, who told me her name was Chloe, who seemed to both protect me and play tricks at the same time. She liked to keep me up at night, and it got to the point where there was even a small troll like figure with a pointed hat who liked to stand in my doorway.
When my brother came to live with us, however, Chloe became angry, slamming my door, knocking things off my shelf, and not leaving my room when I was home, at least. My room was the coldest in the house, and I refused to get rid of her. She was angry, that was all. (My mom calls me “sensitive to that kind of energy to this day, even with several mental illnesses. It’s a gift some of the girls in my family have.)
And at night, my brother would swear up and down he would wake up in the middle of the night feeling like there was someone sitting on his chest, their fingers in his throat. He demanded that I tell "my ghost friend” to stop or he’d get sage, and so I turned to Chloe, who was standing on the stairs nearby, invisible to everyone but me, and told her to stop it.
She did. And then became weirdly silent.
They tore that house down 6 or so years ago. It still makes me wonder to this day what happened to the little ghost girl….
