Wait I’m so confused. I thought the banned tags stuff only applied to the iOS app? But I’m using Tumblr in a browser and I made a post on one of my side blogs that is just. A ghost. I searched under the main fandom tag and it isn’t there, and I checked the tags on my own blog and it isn’t there either. Literally the only way I can see the post is if I go to the separate blog page, it doesn’t show up on the dashboard or search function at all.
And seriously wtf, because the tag in question was a trigger warning and the only way to make the post show up is to delete that tag, which I obviously don’t want to do. And I thought it only affected the iOS app anyway what

That sounds about right to me. I was thinking thirties as well, but the gray hair and the Raisa comment were throwing me off in different directions. You make a good point with the school thing, thanks!!
Hi! I was skimming through some parts of both Realms series today for fanfic purposes and I realized that unless I missed something, I have no clue how old Abelard is supposed to be. I have my own conflicting estimates, but thoughts??
Personally, I always thought she would be around Gavan’s age. I think she would be in her early thirties. Old enough to have a stable job as a dean, but still rather young enough that she didn’t necessarily have to worry about her own heirs at the moment. It would also make her and Gavan’s feud make a little more sense, like they were both in school around the same time, and it started like that. These are just my personal thoughts, but I don’t think she was terribly old when Han and Dancer were in school.

Sometimes my ability to get very attached to side characters is a gift because there’s nothing in canon to disprove the things I make up about them, so I can just say that Sarie Dobbs is a lesbian actually

So I'm rereading the Seven Realms series again to get myself back in the headspace of writing fic for it because I want to get back to Of Mirrored Addictions and a few other ideas I have planned with the main characters. So far I have:
Been reminded that one of the "main characters" in the fic I'm currently writing really only has two lines of dialogue and then is virtually never mentioned again until after he's dead
Become very attached to side characters with little bearing on the overall plot, as per usual, and come up with completely made up story arcs to explain what they'll be doing after The Crimson Crown
Developed a complete crack ship between two side characters who never actually meet in canon, and fabricated a way in which they could get to know each other
Begun outlining a multi-chapter slowburn fic for this crack ship in which I've already gotten genuinely invested in side characters that do not know of each other's existence, all the while not opening the Of Mirrored Addictions file that was the entire purpose of my reread

Alright so Anne with an E does an incredible job of setting Nate up to be a villain - he's deceitful, manipulative, ruthless, and immensely creepy - and I hate his guts and wish Minnie May had kicked him a bit harder.
That being said, he's also so absurd and I just really enjoy a bad guy you can laugh at sometimes. He promises Marilla he'll get rid of the alcohol (I'm not even getting into that super creepy scene with Jerry) and the logical thing to do in his position would be to dump it out somewhere so she wouldn't get suspicious again, but instead the scene cuts to Nate huddled in the barn just downing the rest of it, and come on, Marilla is going to notice if you drank the whole flask in like...what, ten minutes?
Even better is the scene where he first gets Mr. Barry hooked on the idea of the gold rush. Like, Nate, did you really think that, even for your geologist persona, that would be an appropriate reaction to have? Ah yes, I know that when I'm struggling to make a decision that there is literally no time limit for, I like to throw shovels and scream and kick things and then completely clam up when a passing stranger asks me what the problem is. I'm not sure whether it's more absurd that Nate - an experienced con artist - went all-out on that dramatic of a display, or that Mr. Barry actually bought it.

So I recently started watching Anne with an E, and I was under the impression that it was going to be an adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, not a new story based on the original concept and characters.
You can imagine my surprise.
Now, knowing that, I absolutely adore this show and it feels like I only just started but I've already finished the first season and am almost halfway through the second. The characters feel so real, and I love the directions they're going with it! Also, Jerry deserves the world.

I know the Gilded Wolves fandom is pretty small, but I’ve written a fic exploring the long-term effects of what Eva did to Séverin in The Silvered Serpents. I’m proud of how it turned out, so if anybody wants to check it out, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
