☼ - Favorite summer memory.

"Well, I don't know if it counts as a favorite, but it used to bring me much joy."

"Yet, time goes on, and memories change with it. This memory is related to my late father.

As a child, whenever the waves were calm and clear, my father (of course, if he also wasn't on some kind of expedition) would invite me to go sailing. He expected me to one day inherit his company and sail across the world. I watched him intensely everytime he hoisted the sails, yanked up the anchor, and steered the wheel. However, due to my propensity to... wail uncontrollably as soon as we left harbor, my father neglected to trust me to pilot a ship on my lonesome yet.

My father would ask me, 'what's wrong? Are you scared?'

Well, yes, naturally. I was terrified. Not only was my mother so far away, but I felt I would fail my father since he expected so much of me. I was only good at misdirection and card tricks; how could I possibly run a crew all by myself?

So, instead of leading me back home, my father grabbed my hand and placed it on the wheel. Together with his guidance, we spun the wheel deeper into uncharted seas. I stopped crying, comforted by his gentle touch.

He told me there's nothing to fear. He let go of my hand, and suddenly I was in control of a gigantic ship.

'You have nothing to fear,' he said. 'You are a Zeppeli, William. Bravery runs in our veins, and adventure hoists us up to immeasurable heights. As along as you hold that name in your grasp, then you have nothing to fear.'

If only... nevermind. That's the end of my favorite summer memory."

♦️- Tell me a story about your life now

"My life now... well, how about I tell you one that happened during Jojo's training? If you can't tell, I have many fond memories of time.

To showcase Harmon's power to diffuse through objects, I pummeled a frog standing on a stone to crack said stone underneath. Well, Jojo was very impressed with this patented trick of mine. However, or the life of him and anyone he ever cared about, he could not emulate it. Instead of splitting the rock in twain, he would splatter frog guts everywhere! It was quite a sight to watch this giant of a man weep for a frog he accidentally destroyed.

Transferring Harmon like that requires upmost control. While Jojo was a natural, he still lacked the capability to reign in his power. In other words, the sheer volume of his life energy was astronomical, almost too much for Jojo to harness properly.

I decided to take a leap of faith, so to speak. I intended to show him exactly what to do my directly interacting with his Harmon. Positioned atop a rock above a trickling stream, I ordered Jojo to attack me. As soon as his crashed into mine, I redirected it straight through myself and into the rock like a burst of lighting. My rock shattered from the combined might of our Harmon.

And you know what Jojo said to me? He said: 'Mr. Zeppeli, you aren't a frog!' Ho ho ho! As if he could so easily spill my insides!"

Vassia has a proud little smile on her face as she gently tugs Zeppeli's coat.

Baron, she signs to him, mumbling the words along as well, I think I've finally figured out my own technique! Something finally clicked last night. I much prefer the healing parts of it than the fighting, so--

Touching a small plant, she causes it to bloom, and then gently transfers her energy through the flower and touches it to Zeppeli softly. Of course he was a master at Hamon Healing already, but the idea was still there.

When the flower had transferred the Hamon properly, she looked up at him with a smile and tucked it into his hat with a noticeable warmthon her face. It's not entirely original, I know. But I thought it was pretty.

"Ah! You don't know how precious you are!"

"Of course, a beautiful yet gentle Harmon trick like that would suit someone as elegant as you, Vassia. I couldn't have chosen a better technique myself. You are truly talented."

"And yes, a romantic rose just for the occasion. Shall we celebrate your new skill with some wine later, my sweet?"

"Well, I hate to act as the realist, but I consider love a double-edged sword. One one hand, love can fuel someone's power and create heros out of common folk. One the other hand... love hurts when because when it morphs into a vacuum instead of a power source. Placing your love in something that doesn't provide any love back... it's like a sunflower without the sun.

Ah, but I'm just speaking as a bitter old man."

§ - Biggest Regret

"There's not a day that goes by that I don't regret leaving my family behind. My baby son, Mario... I don't know how old he is now. I wonder if my wife even talks about me?

Well, if she does, then I'm sure Mario thinks me a coward. Perhaps I am a coward. However, destiny called my name across the sea, so I had no choice but to set sail."

"Well, Vassia, you certainly don't have to, but I do recommend it."

"Customizing Harmon to befit your capabilities as a fighter serves not only to accessorize your strengths but also to make your fighting more malleable. What I mean by all that is that a specialized Harmon attack can enhance your thinking, allowing for complex strategies and--

"How did you know that sunflowers are a Zeppeli favorite? Why, you are too kind.

Did you know that sunflowers are the most reactive plant to Harmon? You only need to breathe it a little, and it practically glows.

This reminds me of one day during Jojo's training in which I tasked him with the growth of a flower. Basically, I gathered some dirt, seed, and water, placing it all into his hands. We cycled through our usual morning regimen while Jojo kept his flower safe. I wanted to visualize his progress as said flower blossomed throughout our training, both for my sake--I couldn't believe, at the time, how much he has grown--and for his. Needless it to say, he created the most beautiful red rose. You should've seen his excitement!

And what does he do with his newly-bloomed rose? Why, he gives it to little Ms. Pendleton, of course! Ho ho ho!"

Kinda of a weird question buuut,what if you meet a...well,a good vampire? Like,he's not an egocentric and violent thing,how would you react?

"A good vampire? Oh, you kids and your imagination.

"I have not yet had the luxury of meeting a good vampire. It's difficult to say if anyone who becomes one can stay 'good,' if tempted to drink the lifeblood from others. Use that childlike imagination to imagine this: you are tormented by constant thoughts of murder or assault... just for sustenance. Like some unnatural beast.

"How can anyone stay truly good under those conditions?

"Nevertheless, if a 'good' vampire happened to cross my path, I would first challenge it to a duel. One on one, Hamon versus undead. If I sense any good intent and a desire to fight against base instincts, then I would reconsider my thoughts on the mortality of vampires.

For now, however, I will classify every vampire I encounter as the monster it truly is. Something I need to destroy."

"Do I really look so old that you will call me Mister Zeppeli? Oh, how I envy those not forever young! Did you know I cultivated this luxurious mustache just so twittering bartenders would stop inquiring about my parents when I ordered a cask of Barolo?

"Anyway, I think you'll find that once you reach my age (which shall not be named), all of them start to run together. Nonetheless, if someone held me at knifepoint and, for some reason, I would have to tell them my favorite drink in order to receive a painless death, I would say that said flavor of wine doesn't matter.

"My 'favorite' type of wine is the kind one drinks with people they care about. It could taste like sewer swine, and I would still guzzle it down with my truest companions. Unless that companion happens to be Speedwagon. He does not take his alcohol well, the poor man.

"Anyway, to answer your second question, I have to ask--"
