Jackie is indeed cool.

Her band are rad, they were gonna be playing a couple towns over next month but obviously that isn’t happening now.

Her and Mae are on decent terms. They don’t really talk to each other often.

Did you end up quitting smoking?

Good question.

Technically I haven’t had a cigarette for going on a month now, lockdown preventing me from buying smokes and all, but the itch hasn’t gone away. I want to, I really do, but the world is stressful. Sometimes I need a way to deal with that stress.

Sometimes I tell them I’ll burn down their house if they don’t quit bugging me. Always works.

So-so.

Virus has kinda fucked everything, Possum Springs included.

Some stores are closing down, me and dad have just scraped by offering home deliveries to folks.

Still, scary stuff. Haven’t seen Mae in a while, but that doesn’t mean she’s not trying to video call every other hour.

Has anyone else been poking around the mine? Someone must have heard it collapse.

I remember a little commotion from locals who lived nearby when it happened, but all the cops or authorities deemed it too dangerous to check out.

That, or they were too busy arresting someone for loitering too long outside the community center.

Her and Mae seem to get on pretty well. They’ve been hanging out more and more lately.

kind of a weird question, but have you had any run-ins with Mae's aunt since the whole cult incident? not, like, as in you were arrested or something, just has she come to you with suspicions about the mine collapse?

To be honest, no.

Feels like the police did all they could to cover that up after it happened.

Wouldn’t want to disrupt the friendly smalltown facade.

Has Possum Springs changed any yet over the years? Also, is Mae still unemployed?

Here and there, a few places closing, a little construction, but in many ways it’s the same.

She’s managed to get a job at the Snack Falcon now Gregg’s not here to fill it. Not sure how long she’ll last.

New year, new decade.

Well, here we are. 2020. Feels a little weird.

In just a few months it will have been 2 years since Gregg and Angus moved to Bright Harbor. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.

Possum Springs is the same as ever. Places close, places open, some stay the same.

Me and Mae found this spot just under one of the train bridges last night and sat for a moment.

There’s this huge lot that sells Christmas trees and then closes down right as the new year rolls around. We just stared at it for a while. I’d love to come out with some really profound observation about it but sadly I don’t have one.

Here I am. Resting in my windowsill, eating some chips, watching the street that’s basically empty this time of day and letting the fact another year has passed wash over me.

Yep. If it wasn’t obvious, I’m here to answer questions again after a lengthy hiatus.

The holiday rush seems to be over (you’d be surprised how many people are buying hardware at Christmas) so work has once again slowed down.

Mae has actually started working at Taco Buck. Not sure how she secured the job, or how long she’ll keep it. The only talents I can even imagine she showed off during the interview are eating tacos and burping her ABCs. Still, she’s making some money now.

It also means she stops by my work to chat less often. It’s strange how you miss something when it’s no longer there.

What's the toughest thing you could bite through? Could you shatter a watermelon with them chompers?

I feel like I could tackle a watermelon pretty easily.
