is this project still alive?
No. I had ended the project over a year ago. Due to stress and other un-named factors I won't speak of directly, I ended the project in order to protect my personal health.-Mayrune

Random question, what "shape" do you usually draw Tim's manly stubble? XD
... *nervous sweating* Shape?! It varies. Because of the nature of how facial hair works, it changes from curled forwards to sideways to sometimes a mix of straight and curved! So, I can't say ^^;;

So I'm kind of worried about this whole project. If I'm gathering right. You all are doing other things and quite Franky. It feels like a lost cause unless you can devote full time and energy to it >~>
Well currently while we are all doing other things of our own, as far as creating goes, LP RPG is a primary focus. It is rather difficult for us to make much progress however do to the matter that Mayrune is without a computer that is her own. The story is absolutely still in the works though, with well over two hundred pages of basic story when it is hardly half way through. We have many ideas to work with along the lines of quests and side quests, along with personal quests with the characters themselves. Many ideas are still in the works and, even though it isn't public, there is a great deal of progress being made, our main focus right now being the main story. While this project is something that will take a considerable amount of energy, it does not cause Mayrune and the other co writers and creators from being just as determined as from the beginning. Once Mayrune gets her computer back, there will be considerable progress made, from testing around in various engines to developing final cut stories and even further, full on scripts. I do hope you can understand that, while not devoting full time energy, we are still putting a lot into it and plan to continue to do so until it's completion, which will, as we know now, be a fair deal of time from now. While the final destination may still be far, it does not stop us from continuing in our trek to reach such.

How's it goin', doods? Tom here. So, I just wanted to ask a quick question; I'm planning on including Mayrune and Xavier in All-Stars of Infinity, and I just wanted to make sure which versions I should be using. Should it be their past selves, or their present selves? (If you're wondering, I don't want them to be too overpowered when compared to the rest of the cast.)
That is a good question, however, in the case of actual fighting, it would be best for their past selves to be used. The primary reason being that, in the present section of the time line, the inn keeper Mayrune and her husband Xavier do have great power, however it is never actually demonstrated in any form, so their past selves would be best. For Mayrune, her main weapon is a staff, which she could use for elemental spells, as well as perhaps preforming small heals on herself. For Xavier, he is also a mage, however he is a blue mage which, in this adaptation of such, means that he can reflect certain magic, perhaps one of his attacks could be to put up a shield and reflect some damage back. Also, he uses his gunblade, as well as some fire and dark magic. I greatly look forward to the rest of the character sheets as time progresses ^^

I read through your response to the previous Annon about the fact that you're planning on making LP RPG into a game. I think that's great! From what I've read it seems like it would be an interesting game. Are you guys planing on going all out with full 3D models or are you going to start small with a kind of Over The Top view like the old Final Fantasy games? Also, do you actually have/know someone who will be programming it?
It has been through a great many ideas for how it will be set up and how the artistic direction will go, however the main focus as of now is towards a model based system that will hopefully bare some resemblance to Legend of Dragoon. We know that it would be difficult to do such (though not as bad as to do anything beyond that), however Legend of Dragoon has been a game that is close to Mayrune and myself, her attachment to it being great and over a long span of time.
Think of it as a graphic quality for the likes of late ps1 and early ps2, that is overall the goal, and if we can make it look better, that's fantastic.
As far as the question concerning the programmers, we are more so focused upon getting the entirety of the story established and having a basic script before such is done., On another note though, there are those who have told us that they are going into programming and may be able to assist, so while it's not the focus as of yet, there are those who would help.
Thanks for your support!

Since you guys didn't answer my previous question I'll ask again. Why do you insist on making this a game? Your asking for a huge MMO. You'd be better off without going to the trouble of looking for programmers and just making it a book
We understand that the size of this game will be one large, the variation of the game will be vast and the process to get all of the team recruited to work on this will be a difficult one, but that doesn't waver our determination for a moment. (also it's an rpg, not an mmo)
Video games is something that each and every individual working on the project have grown attached to and is special to. We have been raised from them, united by them and become great friends through them. I know personally I would not have met the wonderful Mayrune without A Link to the Past being streamed through a series of great fortune working to our favor. The entirety of my life has been filled video games and it is something that I am passionate for, I know the same applies to others in a great many ways. It is a way to unite those of your family, form new bonds with friends, develop a fun competitive rivalry with someone and far more.
We here at the development team also know that video games are an art. One would not be so touched by a horse's thought death like Agro in Shadow of the Colossus if it was a novel, one would not be so warmed internally by the moments in Final Fantasy 10 where Yuna and Tidus hold each other if it was a movie, one would not be so shaken by the death of Lavitz in Legend of Dragoon, or Zack Fair in Final Fantasy Crisis Core, or Sarah in The Last of Us if they were any other media besides video games. They can bring out a connection you would be unable to feel in anything else, in a book, you don't feel the determination that you feel as Ethan Mars felt in Heavy Rain, nor the beautiful feeling of success you get when you finally best the former champion of the Kanto region in Pokemon Fire Red, nor the ecstasy received when beating a boss in Dark Souls. Video games allow for an experience unlike any other, the transcendental beauty of Journey, Unfinished Swan, and Flower would never be if they were movies. We on this team wish to bring such beautiful emotions within someone, as I personally believe and say to them, the purpose of a novel, movie or a video game is to give emotions and thoughts that were not there before the experience spanning across the adventure. That's what we want to bring, we want to break your heart in two ways: one, with sorrow and despair and breaking it in half, and two, filling it up until it bursts with how sweet it can be. That is the art of video games, and we want to try to make it to a reality with this project.
That all combined with let's players being directly tied with games is also a huge factor, it brings a homely feeling that ties up the ends surrounding everyone currently involved, and to be involved in the project itself. We wish to make it a game because, in short, we love games, love to watch people experience games for the first (second, third, onward) time, we adore being able to bring the emotions that a game can bring that a novel or a movie can not. It's been our intent since the beginning and it is to that we are going to stay firmly affixed, to make an rpg for all to enjoy, to bring them together with it, and to invoke such beautiful emotion. =w=

So, hey, it's the guy who was asking about the LPRPG cast in a fighting game. I have two character sheets done and posted up on deviantART; is it okay if I submit the links to this blog? I can do the same for other characters in the future!
Mayrune gave word to me to say yes, including vulgarity and what not, however to tone it down i'm going to say ABSOLUTELY HECK YES DO IT PLEASE, *clears throat* it would be delightful.

A thought that I had, and please mistake me if I'm wrong of course; There are 750 Books, correct? Each book represents the "story" of the adventurers who tried to defeat the LP Curse. Since the time between book 749 and 750 is 100 years, if each one is 100 years apart, that would mean the first attempt was around 7,500 years ago! This irks me because you said the gods are 3 thousand years old! Unless the first attempt was with no gods, this isn't possible! Please explain if I'm wrong! XD
Ah, I can try to explain this. I might be a little off but I think I remember the gist of it:
You’re aware of the “Reset Button” that the overseer is oh so trigger happy to press? The one that resets the timeline to a specific point? That is what each story are. It’s less the time between books, and more the time that the book themselves go over.
Each “Book” starts at the triggering point, and goes until the Overseer hits the reset button again.
So let me think of an example: This is a completely random number. Say this was Book… 502. The book could also have last 100 years, And this one ended because, say. the main team were defeated in the battle with the LP Curse, and because the overseer found that Dull, they decided to press the Reset Button.
I guess what my point is that each of the books is less one after another, and more “A different telling of the same period of time”.

How would you feel about some of the LP RPG characters being featured in a Smash Bros.-style fighting game? Would you allow it?
... WOULD I ALLOW IT?!
OF COURSE
As long as credit is given to me and what not. I mean, that would be awesome!!

To Queen Lucah and King Josh, I've noticed you don't wear your crowns often. Is it a personal preference, or is there an underlying reason? (Also, would it be advisable to include their crowns if I'm drawing a picture of them? XD)
Queen Lucah and King Josh don't normally wear their crowns as those are only to be worn during extremely formal occasions. That, and because they are symbols of the kingdom, the crowns are kept at the castle in the Capital of Le Pa.
(And it would be advisable to include their crowns if you are drawing their royal outfits. If you're drawing their regular ones, then don't worry about it.)

Adding on to the previous question, considering how it's a Democracy with Monarch titles, (I...I think? Correct me if I'm wrong.) you have to wonder what in the WORLD she said to sway the population to vote for her. XD (Maybe it was Sombrero Sunday. I dunno. XD)
Rather humorous, considering the circumstances, actually.
It's Democratic Monarchy. Just as with democracy, she simply proved herself a good candidate and was voted into place. She has proven to be a fantastic queen, keeping true to making sure that there is equality. And honestly, I don't think a kingdom should aim for anything less than peace, growth, and equality.
