Stuck inside with an infectious disease and making something of it.
Content Warning: Medicine, mental health issues, a few other things I'll add here when they come up.
And the blog/story (including morning reblogs and occasional shitposts) is now at 50 total posts! While we're not that close to the end of the story, or the end of volume 1, it's been a fun little exercise in developing an ask blog with a plot. If you're new and somehow came across this, check out the story from the beginning.
Thanks to everyone for sticking around for my attempt MLP ask blog/medical drama/slice of life thing! The support is much appreciated and helps me keep this thing going.
This entry and the previous one were a bit tough because of the question, "How do you make the standard practice of a doctor telling a patient the adverse effects of the drugs they're taking interesting?" Admittedly, I don't think I pulled that off but it was fun to go in depth on.

This update (and the next one) has been brought to you by Pocket Medicine Eighth Edition and UpToDate. If I really wanted to get even more in depth, I probably could have broken out my (a little out of date) copy of Harrison's.
Asks from @ask-wizard-sunburst and @reversal-mushroom

Quick Mod Note: The rifampin turning body fluids side effect is normally noticed when the urine turns that color. I decided not to go that route because, while it's medical in nature, I'd rather not risk having the Tumblr mods/admins/whoever flag the related entry. Also, some people on this hellsite would ask way too many questions about it in the wrong way. Anyway, the body fluid color change side effect is pretty interesting because it actually means the drug is working! More to come about all the "fun" side effects that can occur from multidrug TB treatment.

Mod/Artist/Author here. It's just a fun little thing that I like to do with the background. I figured that keeping the background posters the same would get extremely boring since much of this part of the story, due to how tuberculosis is treated in real life, is going to be taking place solely in Redheart's apartment.
So yeah, it's fun to change the background to posters of films I like. The most recent entry one was a reference to the old 1930s All Quiet on the Western Front theater poster. Great book and great movie.
