My name's Rainbow "Serious" Dash. I work for the Serious Foundation. I'm not a full-fledged Serious Sam parody, but damn, I do a good job of keeping the multiverse from exploding. Outside of that, I just hang out with my girlfriend Applejack, take care of my adopted daughter, Scootaloo, and basically have a bunch of misadventures. I'm also getting tired of rewriting this every time Tumblr cries about it. Warning: Ask Serious Rainbow contains mature and immature content, including suggestive sexual references, overt sexual references, references that people are unlikely to get, anthropomorphic horses, Frisketized characters, numerous fourth wall breaks, and language that is definitely not for children. Besides, they won't get it anyway.

Hello numbers 30 to 21! Having fun so far?

30. Knights of the Old Republic Previous Rank: 34 (Available on: Steam, GOG) BioWare's masterpiece within the Star Wars universe, a great story with a great twist, and role-playing perfection. It's one of the greatest for a reason.

29. Duke Nukem 3D Previous Rank: 26 (I'm Not Linking to the Cursed Randy Version) Duke Nukem's third outing, this send-up of action films is a great first-person shooter with personality. The weapons are fantastic and the enemies are quite varied. See if you can find a version that isn't the Cursed Randy Version, though.

28. Balatro New Entry (Available on: Steam) A poker-based rogue-like? It's quite fun! I recently picked this up a little while ago and man is it fun. I happen to know poker hands so it's more fun for someone like me, but if you have a little poker knowledge (like from Poker Night At The Inventory 1 or 2), you'll probably like this one.

27. Stardew Valley Previous Rank: 64 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Stardew Valley is a nice relaxing game where you inherit a farm from your grandfather, and have to build up relationships with the villagers and rebuild the Community Center. The Joja route sucks, my homies don't fuck with the Joja route.
26. Fallout New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) The original is easily one of the greats. The adventure of the Vault Dweller is a great story, with some engaging combat. I do like Fallout 2, but Fallout isn't as goofy as its sequel.

25. Dragon Age: Origins Previous Rank: 94 (Available on: Steam, GOG, EA) Yeah, it jumped up a lot but BioWare really did something special with this one. A great throwback to the old Baldur's Gate series, with great characters like Alistair, Leliana, Morrigan, and Sten. Oh, and Dog, can't forget him. Just a great RPG.

24. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Previous Rank: 19 (Available on: Steam) I do appreciate the original AA trilogy a little more, it's what I played first, and it's just great to see all the characters and stories. Definitely pick this one up.

23. Deep Rock Galactic Previous Rank: 39 (Available on: Steam) ROCK AND STONE!! Still one of my favorites because of the co-op gameplay. It's just a great game to play with friends. Varied as well with multiple biomes, enemies, and Season events. DRG is just fun.

22. Day of the Tentacle Previous Rank: 25 (Available on: Steam, GOG) LucasArts adventure games are some of the best in the business, and Day of the Tentacle proves that. A wacky time-travel misadventure where you have to stop Purple Tentacle from taking over the world.
21. Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers Previous Rank: 37 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Space Quest is great. Space Quest IV is great. Easily my favorite of the Sierra Adventure games, it just works. This was the first Space Quest with Gary Owens as the Narrator, and his delivery makes everything funnier.

We've got numbers 40 to 31 today! Check it out!

40. Worms Armageddon Previous Rank: 22 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Worms is ridiculous, and I love it. Armageddon is considered the best of the series for obvious reason, it's a perfect blend of the artillery genre and comedy, and it's just a blast to play with friends. I highly recommend it.

39. Celeste Previous Rank: 15 (Available on: Steam) Celeste only fell because there's so much added. Great platformer with a charming story that you should play at least once.

38. Half-Life Previous Rank: 36 (Available on: Steam) Half-Life is pretty good, it's a classic FPS with a great story and a good focus. Its linearity is a part of the story too, even though other shooters learned the wrong thing from it. The gunplay is good, the enemies are varied, it's just a good time.
37. SimCity 3000 Unlimited Previous Rank: 42 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ah, SimCity 3000 Unlimited. Easily one of the best city builders out there, it takes the formula from the previous SimCity games and expands it perfectly. It's just the right amount of complex.
36. You Don't Know Jack 5th Dementia New Entry (Not Available, Sadly) This is actually my second favorite of the classic YDKJs, I just couldn't add it last time because it doesn't play nice with modern Windows. You need a Windows 98 virtual machine or 86Box to run it properly. Thankfully, I now have that. Josh “Schmitty” Schmitstinstein isn't Cookie Masterson, but he hosts well. When it was new, it had online, but nowadays the servers are down.
35. Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) The last Space Quest game is one of the best, it's right up there with the others. It's a little more cartoon-like, but I feel the art style helps the humor. Gary Owens is back as well.
34. Syndicate Previous Rank: 24 (Available on: GOG, EA) Syndicate is hard, but it's a well made cyberpunk strategy game with a distinctive artstyle and a distinctive feel. If you've never played it, do yourself a favor and pick it up.
33. The Incredible Machine 3 Previous Rank: 32 (Available on: GOG) Puzzle games are kinda my jam, and The Incredible Machine 3 was my first taste of this classic series. Just really fun puzzles with character. Lasers and cats and power switches, oh my!

32. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy New Entry (Available on: Steam) I like the Ace Attorney games, they're quite cerebral and funny to boot. The new characters introduced are just as memorable as the original trilogy, and it's still quite challenging.
31. Dungeon Keeper Previous Rank: 31 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Bullfrog makes great strategy games, and Dungeon Keeper exemplifies it. You command a group of minions (that you have to pay, being evil ain't cheap) and try to keep adventurers away from your dungeon heart. Really fun game.

Numbers 50 to 41! We're in the second half!

50. Cult of the Lamb New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) How did this miss my first list? I have no idea. Cult of the Lamb is very intuitive and challenging to play. You've got a good base building game and a good roguelike, and they both work together to create something truly unique.

49. Rise of the Triad Previous Rank: 51 (Available on: Steam, GOG) I like Rise of the Triad, it's very tongue-in-cheek, very silly, with memorable weapons, ludicrous gibs, and middle fingers flying at the screen, and the Ludicrous Edition is just a love letter to the game. Definitely get it.

48. System Shock (Remake) New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) The System Shock remake is a rare breed, a remake that's just as good as the original. You can choose which gender the Hacker is this time, and it's just as atmospheric as the original. I really like what Nightdive did here.
47. Hitman: Blood Money Previous Rank: 47 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ah, Hitman: Blood Money is still my favorite of the Hitman series, though the World of Assassination is a good play as well. Great story, great twists and turns, great gameplay, just one really great game.

46. You Don't Know Jack Full Stream Previous Rank: 43 (Available on: Steam, Jackbox) My favorite of the “modern” YDKJs. Streamlined, faster-paced, adds 8-player support, has Cookie as host, and is just a great time. Definitely play this one.

45. Serious Sam 3: BFE Previous Rank: 46 (Available on: Steam) Ah, Serious Sam 3. One of the hardest in the series because of the slow burn, but once it ramps up to normal Serious Sam levels, it's great. The final level has over 1700 enemies alone, and you can defeat them easily.
44. Battle Chess Previous Rank: 16 (Available on: Steam, GOG) The best way to play computer chess, in my opinion. Animated piece taking, well thought-out AI, it's just a great version of chess that stands the test of time. The “Enhanced” DOS version looks amazing as well.

43. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) Previous Rank: 33 (Available on: Steam, EA) Criterion made a name for themselves with the Burnout series, and when EA brought them to the Need For Speed series, it was just money. It's not as open world as say Burnout Paradise, but it's still a fun time.
42. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri Previous Rank: 41 (Available on: Steam, GOG, EA) I do love me some Alpha Centauri, one of the greatest 4X games ever made. I love the setting, I love the characters, I love the Secret Project videos, it's just a great game that's more than just “Civilization II in space.”

41. Team Fortress 2 Previous Rank: 48 (Available on: Steam) A little higher than last time, but TF2 is still a fun time if you play it just right with the right people. The fact they made the SDK available to everyone is awesome.

Here are numbers 60 to 51! Ten more games for you to check out.

60. The Plutonia Experiment Previous Rank: 49 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Oh, Plutonia, what with your many Arch-Viles, multiple Cyberdemons on multiple maps, including the infamous Go 2 It, which is a bastardized version of DOOM II's MAP01: Entryway, so many Revenants and Chaingunners. If you play Plutonia on Ultra-Violence, you know its difficulty.
59. The Sims 2 Previous Rank: 55 (Available on: Steam, EA) The Sims 2 has not been beat in the life simulator genre for a long time. It's my favorite of the series, and I think a lot of people prefer it to Sims 4. It's just amazing how much detail the game goes into, and it's a great play.

58. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Previous Rank: 87 (Available on: Steam, GOG) I do like Half-Genie Hero more now than I do Pirate's Curse, but really, the entire series is great. Half-Genie Hero was the first to use the “high-res” style that's also used in Seven Sirens. This one is more linear, but to me, that makes it easier to get into.
57. Theme Hospital Previous Rank: 58 (Available on: GOG, EA) What can I say about Theme Hospital that I haven't yet? I love Theme Hospital, it's one of Bullfrog's greatest games. Especially if you set up your hospitals properly in a way that makes sense. You gotta keep your staff and patients happy. The diseases are humorous enough and it's a good challenge in the later levels.
56. Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love For Sail! Previous Rank: 67 (Available on: GOG) I do like Love For Sail! a little more than Shape Up or Slip Out! but that's because of the cleverer easter eggs, and the cruise ship theme. There's also a fun “Where's Waldo” type minigame, shown in the screenshot (and yes, it's called exactly what you think it is). It has the same VAs for Larry and the Narrator as LSL6, and they're just as hilarious.

55. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links New Entry (Available on: Steam) Yes. Seriously. It's not a bad game. I'm playing the version on Steam, of course, and they really captured the heart of the cards as well as having a good game with a coating of really awesome voice acting from the VAs of all the anime series. Just a fun time, really glad @asklittlepip recommended it to me.

54. Two Point Hospital Previous Rank: 57 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Two Point Hospital jumped up a little more than Theme Hospital, but it's the better of the two. The diseases are hilarious and it does a good job of keeping its difficulty curve accessible.

53. Two Point Campus Previous Rank: 56 (Available on: Steam) Campus takes the formula of Hospital and makes it better. You can make custom buildings, the classes are hilarious, and it makes you care about your students.

52. Two Point Museum New Entry (Available on: Steam) OKAY YES I LIKE THE TWO POINT GAMES A LOT YOU GET THE POINT! They're great management games and they have the expertise of former Bullfrog employees so they're very well made.

51. Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore New Entry (Available on: Steam) This loving tribute to the Zelda CD-i games is actually a great time, and you can tell a lot of heart went into it. If you're even mildly curious about the game, I say get it. It's very well done.

Numbers 70 to 61 today! Some new games and some returning.

70. Shantae and the Pirate's Curse Previous Rank: 71 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Pirate's Curse is easily the best of the old-school Shantae games. Controlling a depowered Shantae teaming up with Risky Boots on a quest to stop the Pirate Master from taking over Sequin Land is quite fun.
69. Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape Up or Slip Out! New Entry (Available on: GOG) The first “talkie” of the Leisure Suit Larry games, the spa hotel theme really works to the hilarity of the game. I'll be honest, I forgot this one last time, so I wanted to make sure it was on this time. Be sure to play this in “Super VGA” mode instead of regular old VGA.

68. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn Previous Rank: 54 (Available on: Steam, GOG) My first experience with D&D was Baldur's Gate II and it was a great experience. I love Minsc, Imoen, Jaheira, and Aerie. It's such an epic story, with lots of twists and turns. It's considered one of the best RPGs for very good reasons.
67. Space Quest V: The Next Mutation New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) Space Quest V was the first Space Quest that I beat. It's also the first Space Quest to not be done by both Guys From Andromeda. (Mark Crowe did this one, Scott Murphy did SQ6.) I think this one is pretty good, but pretty tough. I'm not gonna lie, this is one of the toughest Sierra Adventure games, beaten out only by LSL2. But it's still fun, so it's worth a play.

66. Shady Lewd Kart Previous Rank: 69 (Available on: Steam, GOG) I debated whether or not to keep the funny number for SLK, but I decided to bump it up a few spots because it just keeps getting better with each update. It's a solid racer that just happens to be lewd, and if that's not your thing, that's totally fine.
65. Fallout 2 Previous Rank: 27 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Oof, this one fell a bit. But I do like Fallout 2. It's a great way to do a sequel (except the opening tutorial), and is a fun ride (literally if you get the Highwayman). Playing this one helps the New Vegas references to this one make a little more sense. However, some may find the Denser and Wackier tone to be a detriment.
64. Afterlife New Entry (Available on Steam, GOG) I don't know how Afterlife wasn't on the list last time. I love Afterlife, it's like LucasArts had an idea to make a Heaven and Hell SimCity, and it is good. Well worth it if you understand its mechanics, such as keeping Heaven diverse and Hell spread out.

63. Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate New Entry (Available on: Steam) The Homestar Runner dudes make some pretty great point-and-clicks, as shown by this game. You have to guide Dangeresque through 3 exciting rooms of adventure, and it's voiced to boot! Definitely get this one.
62. The Movies Previous Rank: 62 (Not Available, Sadly) I really like this movie making sim from Lionhead, it's a really put together game. You can totally do sandbox mode as well, after you try to beat the main story mode (it's tricky, but possible). You're still making movies though.

61. Crazy Taxi Previous Rank: 44 (Not Available, Frustratingly) Ah, Crazy Taxi. What introduced a lot of people to The Offspring and Bad Religion, it's still a really tight game as well, with both arcade and original modes, as well as a minigame challenge mode. Say it with me: YA YA YA YA YA!

Here's numbers 80 to 71! Got some fun ones in this one! I've also added links to where you can get the games, with that being retroactively added to parts 1 and 2 as well. Obviously, I can't link if they aren't available.
80. Alpha Protocol New Entry (Available on: GOG) So this game is basically described as “Mass Effect with spies,” but that does a disservice to the game. It's well written, clever, has Nolan North as an unhinged ally, and really fun to boot. Obsidian was great on this one.

79. Evil Genius 2 Previous Rank: 73 (Available on: Steam) Stumbled a little but this take on the base-building genre is still a fun time, I love the Evil Geniuses and how they're all slightly different from each other with different doomsday devices.

78. Scarface: The World is Yours Previous Rank: 72 (Not Available, Sadly) While Vice City is an excellent spiritual successor of Scarface, The World is Yours is a great “What If?” sequel where you take control of Tony Montana trying to rebuild after Sosa's attack on his mansion.

77. Shantae and the Seven Sirens New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) I love me some Shantae, and this newest entry is pretty great. Solving the mystery of where the other half-genies went is quite the adventure and it's just a great time.
76. Blood Previous Rank: 82 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Blood lives... again. While not my favorite of the Trinity of Build Engine games, it's a good time, and if you want to play a Villain Protagonist, this game is great for that. RIP Monolith.

75. The Secret of Monkey Island Previous Rank: 65 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ahh, Monkey Island, one of the greats. I love its cleverness and its insult swordfighting. The story of Guybrush Threepwood is great, and this is a great introduction to the series.

74. Serious Sam 4 New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ah, this is a great entry of the Serious Sam series. Very clever writing, excellent weapons, good secrets, an interesting “level up” system, it's just a great entry all around.
73. SimCity 2000 Special Edition Previous Rank: 79 (Available on: GOG, EA) SimCity 2000 is a vast improvement over the original SimCity, what with its water systems and mass transit. It's not perfect, but it's really fun.

72. Pinball FX (2023) New Entry (Available on: Steam) I like pinball games, and Pinball FX has a great selection of tables, including a MLP:FiM table and classic Williams tables, as well as some other licensed tables. It feels right to me, and the controls are intuitive.

71. Evil Genius Previous Rank: 68 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Yeah, I still like the original more. Alexis is just the perfect Evil Genius to me. While not having the numerous bases of EG2, the two bases in EG1 are fun to build up.
Next part tomorrow!

Numbers 90 to 81 today.

90. Carmageddon Previous Rank: 93 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Carmageddon is one of those games you either love or hate with a passion. You have three ways of winning a race, but it's very open with its objectives.
89. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Previous Rank: 86 (Available on: Steam, GOG) VTMB is one of those games that was unfortunately doomed to failure because of both the state and the timing of its release. It's still a great game, and adding the Unofficial Patch makes the game much more playable. Gotta love those Malkavian runs too.

88. Cat Girl Without Salad: Amuse Bouche New Entry (Available on: Steam) I'm not gonna sugar coat it... this game's weird. But it's oddly charming with a silly storyline and... interesting weapons. You start out as a normal horizontal 2D shooter, but you get weird power ups that change how your gun works, based on a completely different genre. It's quirky, but it's fun and doesn't overstay its welcome.

87. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Previous Rank: 50 (Available on: Steam) The best TMNT games were beat-'em-ups and Shredder's Revenge is one of the best, in my opinion. Getting the '80s series's voice actors for the Turtles is great as well, really feels like the cartoon.

86. The Outer Worlds Previous Rank: 83 (Available on: Steam, GOG) When Obsidian makes a good RPG, you know. And The Outer Worlds, to me, is a good RPG. Well balanced combat and really interesting characters, in my opinion.
85. Sid Meier's Civilization IV Previous Rank: 75 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Civ IV was the last of the classic “square” map Civ games and a lot of people prefer this to V, VI, and VII. I haven't really tried those last three, but Civ IV is a good time.

84. Command & Conquer Remastered Collection Previous Rank: 80 (Available on: Steam, EA) This is what made me take EA off The List. A faithful remastering of the original C&C games with bonus content done by the original team? Yes please!

83. Saints Row IV Previous Rank: 90 (Available on: Steam, GOG) My favorite of the Steelport games, Saints Row IV ratchets up the silliness up a notch, and makes you feel like a superhero. Sure, the Re-Elected version forces you to use the inferior Epic Online Services, but I play solo anyway, so it's just a mild annoyance in this one.

82. Little Kitty, Big City New Entry (Available on: Steam) Little Kitty, Big City is just a cozy game about getting a little kitty back home to their balcony. Fish unlocking your stamina bar just makes sense, and controlling the kitty is intuitive. It's short but it's fun.

81. SimCity 4 Deluxe New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG, EA) Okay, so it got a little complicated for SimCity when we got to the fourth entry, but it's a good one regardless. The region play is an interesting concept, and I like the U Drive It mode.

Alrighty, here we go! It's been a while, but I finally got it done. It's gonna be similar to last time, except I'm not doing a read more this time. Yeah, changed my mind. There's a read more now.

100. Shadow Warrior (1997) New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) Alright, disclaimer: this game is definitely a product of its time, spoofing bad kung fu movies, so it has some cringeworthy stereotyping, especially with Lo Wang, but Shadow Warrior brought some new ideas, such as secondary fire modes with weapons and controllable vehicles. I won't blame you for not playing this one, though.
99. Sid Meier's Covert Action New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) A thrilling tale of espionage, you control Max Remington (who can be either male or female) in a mix of genres. While it did coin the “Covert Action rule” for Sid Meier (“It's better to make one good game than two great games.”) it's still a fun time.

98. POSTAL 4: No Regerts Previous Rank: 91 (Available on: Steam, GOG) I know it's weird, but POSTAL 4 is a good game to me. It's not perfect, of course, it's a POSTAL game, there's gonna be some jank and some jokes that miss, but you have to remember: POSTAL knows it's a video game and acts appropriately. It's not for everyone, but I like it.

97. Half-Life 2 Previous Rank: 96 (Available on: Steam) Okay, so I didn't get raked over the coals for ranking HL2 low in my previous Top 100. It's a little lower than last time, but that's because there's so much new stuff in the list, and I still don't like Ravenholm.
96. You Don't Know Jack Volume 1 XL Previous Rank: 98 (Available on: Steam, Jackbox) While I love the original YDKJ for the host and the questions and the music, it's missing later additions like DisOrDats and other question types. It only has Gibberish Questions and Jack Attacks aside from the regular multiple-choice questions. It's still a good game.
95. Leisure Suit Larry 1: In The Land of the Lounge Lizards Previous Rank: 85 (Available on: GOG) The first LSL is short, but an enjoyable time where you have to help Larry; Larry Laffer find true love. Like last time, I'm lumping all three versions in one position because they're all basically the same game, just with slight puzzle adjustments across all three.

94. Serious Sam 2 Previous Rank: 89 (Available on: Steam) Serious Sam 2 is the wacky one, and it's still a good time. It's just as difficult, even though 2K tried to get Croteam to “kidify” it, for some reason. I'm glad Devolver took over publishing.
93. Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods Previous Rank: 40 (Available on: Steam, GOG, EA) Ah, Peter Molyneux before he was the butt of every Guru Larry joke. Believe it or not, he actually made some fun games, Populous II being one of them. It's an intuitive god game where you have to defeat your opponent by being more, well, populous.

92. Webfishing New Entry (Available on: Steam) Webfishing is a nice chill game where you fish with your friends on the web. Hence the name. I really like this one, it's a good time with friends.
91. The Sims 3 Previous Rank: 92 (Available on: Steam, EA) The Sims 3 brings an open world to the life simulator, and it's just a great game. It's not as detailed as The Sims 2, but it still brings a smile to my face. And Create-A-Style needs to come back, Sims 4 is lame.
