"Ah, of course! Pardon me for not knowing your name, my Lady Darcy," he replied, bowing his head towards her once again. "It is an honor to meet you, no matter your original purposes for entering," he added wryly. His head lifted as he inquisitively watched her take a few more tentative steps forward.
His ears swiveled to catch her next question, as he nodded. "I have been living here for quite awhile now, and my time spent has not been negative in the slightest. I am the Allfather's destrier, and I do not oft receive," he paused for a moment, testing the next word in his mouth, "vacations from my duties. It has been pleasant. The Lady Pepper is a generous host."
He inclined his head towards her, stepping back slightly from the doorway as to not frighten her with his sheer size. "And you, my lady? Do you keep company with the Lady Jane? Or do you live by your lonesome?"

I went looking for this as a joke in a call. I thoroughly approve
Thank you very much! I apologise for not being as active as I can be lately, things have been a little busy but I'm sure things will go back to normal soon. I'm glad you like this, though! I wanted to put a spin on Sleipnir so he could be taken seriously again :)

Ásbyrgi It have been living in the Icelandic folklore that this canyon was formed when Odin’s eight-legged horse, Sleipnir touched one of its feet to the ground here, as you can see the horseshoe shape. Legend also relates that the canyon is the capital city of the “hidden people” (huldufólk), who live in cracks within the surrounding cliffs. This place is in north of Iceland and is one of most beautiful places here. Evertime I go there I feel so strong pagan nature feeling. Sleipnir shook his head at her words. He certainly didn't look the part of a legendary war horse at the moment, hay flying from his long mane, which had tangled in parts. He figure he must look slightly intimidating, however, because she looked quite unsettled at his presence. The horse walked forward, answering her question.
"You aren't interrupting at all. Unless interrupting a day of being normal is interrupting, which I do not consider it to be." He mulled over his last sentence before he nodded. "Yes, that is not interrupting. And I do not mind your presence in the least!" He dipped his head in greeting. "Sleipnir Lokason, at your service, m'lady...?" His voice trailed off, inquiring.

ooc;
Finishing some stuff up, I've been pretty busy lately between finishing my art projects, studying for some end-of-the-term tests, writing a paper, and having my brother working on (of course) last-minute college applications, so I can't get online. School's out for a week after today, I think, so I'll be free then, and I should hopefully be on later tonight. c:

Order, Epiphany, Plans
Order:
In battle, when all is chaos and blood and adrenaline, orders are what ground Sleipnir, offering him a sense of quick relief at the familiar unspoken command. Off the battlefield, they are requests to a partner, who may or may not comply. In the heat of battle, they are always followed. It would take a very strong disagreement with what Odin's orders are for Sleipnir to ever deviate.
Epiphany:
Training to become a proper destrier was challenging, but easy enough to understand. Sleipnir learned the motions, and even grew slightly cocky about going into battle. It was decided by the horse that there was not much for him to fear about it, despite repeated warnings from others. He found himself parading over the Bifrost with five other horses and riders behind him one day, off to settle a skirmish that required Odin's attention. Four riders returned with them, and three horses. The stallion, who returned with his neck not nearly so arched, and his feet not nearly so tempted to leave the ground, was silenced by the harsh epiphany.
Plans:
Plans do not come easily to Sleipnir. He finds it best to just go with whatever happens, and if something happens that is not a positive thing, he will try to fix it. He will follow plans, but he will not make them, not unless he is thinking quite deeply indeed about such a topic. Horses are not creatures of plans, or time, and while he is not quite Horse, he is also not quite Aesir.

revenge
Revenge: Sleipnir does not dwell much on his own past, for as much as he seems like an Aesir in speech, he is a horse as well, and horses do not much think about what once was until what once was faces them head on. However, were something to happen to someone he loved, revenge in whatever form he could enact at the time would be swift. Perhaps it involves death, or perhaps it involves mercy- Sleipnir would not know until it came upon him. He does not plan- he acts through whatever means useful.

The day had been normal. Which, in that case, was rather a good thing, this day being so very much normal, because the reason Sleipnir had stayed in Midgard a bit longer was for this normal. He'd been reliably informed that such a time when one was not doing what they were normally doing, and invariably found themselves bored, but in a good way, was called a "vacation."
And so, on this normal day of his vacation, he was eating his hay and ignoring his grain (he'd eat it later, he always did, so as not to seem rude to his hosts, but it tasted quite strange) when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs to the garage. He perked his head up, upon first hearing the sound, but upon reflection that it was probably someone sent to exercise the iron horses (he could use some exercise now that he thought on it himself- he'd have to inquire to Pepper about stretching his legs), he began eating his hay again.
Upon the feet stopping and not continuing to the iron horses (cars, he mentally corrected himself), he looked up from the hay again and noticed, with great interest, that this was a new person who had come to the garage, and did not look as if they were going to exercise the car. "Hallo," he called out genially to the woman, who was still standing in the doorway.
Dig A Pony || Darcy & Sleipnir
Since her move to New York, Darcy had become somewhat obsessed with Tony’s house.
She had, more than once now, made excuses to go there; when she didn’t feel like sitting alone in her apartment, or was procrastinating on a certain essay, or the daily news was particularly depressing. Not that she needed an excuse, really, considering for the most part that one was welcome to come and go as they pleased. But without Jane she felt misplaced among the Avengers and their friends, not that she would ever let them know it, and having some kind of valid, if falsified, reason to be in their presence without direct invitation helped drown any feelings of insecurity.
Today’s excuse was quickly forgotten, however, as she began wandering the first floor of the tower. No one would question her being there, she knew, but still felt it strange to come into someone else’s space without announcing herself. Caught firmly in the grip of curiosity, and not having run into anyone so far, she was easily convinced that taking a look around wouldn’t hurt.
It didn’t take much to become bored with the floor she was on, and Darcy wondered briefly how many others there were to explore before noticing the staircase to the basement. It seemed to her as good a choice as any. Nearing the bottom she noticed that the door was cracked slightly, and so she pushed it open without a second thought, not at all expecting her eyes to meet a horse (let alone an eight-legged one) upon their first sweep of the room.

Norse Horse #1: SLEIPNIR. Odin’s eight-legged steed that could run as fast as the wind and when flecks of the red foam that fell from his mouth hit the ground they became fly agaric mushrooms (the kind Smurfs live in).
