The newest episode of the owl house was pretty sneaky about it, but we got a lot of new lore:

The original human who traveled to the boiling isles (emperor Belos??) went with a brother

Their statue is in the town square?

They were brought/lured to the boiling isles by a different witch (Did that witch create the original portals/portal key? Could they create new ones if they’re still around?)

Belos was studying Vee to see how she ate/captured/sucked out other creatures magic

Belos was able to reincarnate an extinct species

Eda regularly bartered/traveled to the human realm and didn’t bother with elaborate disguises

Magical creatures/objects with internal magic remain magical in the human realm, unlike how Luz can’t do magic there with her glyphs

Luz’s mom really is the nicest person in the entire human realm… she was face to face with a demon, who she didn’t even realize existed five seconds prior, was able to forgive her for impersonating her daughter for weeks, and didn’t think twice about beating up some ignorant middle-aged man just based on trusting what her daughter had told her.

We can all only HOPE to exude that much kindness and empathy.

He really is trapped in an abusive relationship… it’s so clear that Belos is using him but he’s so desperate for any type of love/affection/acceptance that he ignores that completely and based his self-worth entirely on Belos’s opinion of him.

Idk guys, gals, and non-binary pals… I just really care for one blonde, snarky, not-really-witch, and I want him to be OKAYYYY
