Behroz seems very happy about Kyo's even vague opinion on Seth. They seem to have glanced off briefly at the Shaeon, protagonist of their conversation, who rested on the steps of the stairs and stared at the chatting people.

Johnny finally comes up to Behroz and tugs at their sleeve like a child, his look for Kyo never changing as he whispers, "Maybe let's start taking into account who walks in here........"

Kyo listened intently as Behroz corrected her assumption about the so-called "dark espeon" being a new creature entirely something else. The adaptability of Eevee never ceased to amaze.

She did her best to ignore the tense aura coming from Johnny. For better or worse, Kyo was accustomed to this sort of reaction nowadays. It was undoubtedly the uniform.

"Truly fascinating," she said. "I've never heard of a Shaeon in my world, but then again, the conditions that would cause an Eevee to evolve in such a way seem quite rare. To keep the company of one as well without the use of pokeballs, your son must truly have a way with Pokemon unlike anything else. I must admit, I'm a bit jealous." Kyo chuckled a little and offered Behroz a wide smile. "I have a similar skill, but Seth's natural gifts would make my job a whole lot easier. You must be proud."

(askthewhiterocket) "A dark Espeon?" Kyo tilts her head a bit in thought. "Dark as in fur color? Or did this Espeon somehow gain the dark typing through unusual means?"

Behroz welcomes Kyo's presence without much care. Johnny, on the other hand, is looking straight at the guest with a look that stands right between fear and anger, making him seem terribly wary and tense. Maybe it's the uniform.

"That's what he calls it," Behroz carries on nonchalantly, "you see, I did ask about it also... all I could gather was: it all starts with an eevee!"

"Back when Seth used to be a little all over the world, he had found residence in a desert where the sun was so bright the moon could never fully rise - day and night would always be at the same time. So what's a wild eevee to do then but develop as something that is both the dark and the light?"

"The people that hosted him told him they were omens of storms, cousins of absols, and they were worshipped out of fear. I looked it all up then, and it talks about how they're wild beasts without owner..."

Behroz laughed,

"He's always been like that - with pokemon, that is. He just claims they follow him around!" They seem to be quite enthusiastic talking about their son, "He's never picked up a pokeball."

They seem to catch their breath before returning to the original conversation.

Pokeask Magi Retreat 2025 Exit Post

As the sun rose over the island, indicating the end of the festivities, Meg cracked open her eyes and groaned a little. Currently situated in a hammock on the beach, Meg glanced over to the one next to her to find Kyo still completely passed out, currently face down with a leg hanging out of the hammock in what was definitely not a comfortable position. Meg couldn't help but giggle as she wondered if perhaps they'd partied just a bit too much during the night.

After they'd collected their bottles of coquito from Gabe, the two had continued to drink throughout the night, making merry and chatter until the noise got a bit too much and they decided to retire. Gabe had pointed them to some nearby hammocks where they'd both promptly passed out, the coquito hitting them both for its round 3 knock out.

Meg covered her eyes a bit as the sun began to send a stinging sensation through her head. Considering Kyo was currently in no state to ride a taxi back home, Meg decided to get comfortable in the hammock. Surely Nat and company wouldn't mind them sleeping off their hangovers before they headed home.

Kyo nodded along as Wo explained his role in teaching people the history of his origin. "That's understandable. Even when educating others, it's important to consider your own well being. It's good to see you teaching the future generations though. If we do not keep our past mistakes in view, we are bound to repeat them, and especially in your case, I'm sure no one wants that."

Kyo chuckled a bit. "I figured as much," she said in response to his type-explanation. "Though you can never be sure when you have imitators like Sudowoodo running around."

"Well, if she ever needs someone to train with or something along those lines, I'm sure Meowstic would be more than willing to help," Kyo offered. "I specialize in rearing psychic-types so while I've never actually had the opportunity to raise a Malamar before, if she needs help learning new moves or something of the like, we can be there to assist."

She tilted her head, trying to parse out exactly what pokemon this could be, before deciding simply to approach and ask. Getting out Light to help translate, she approached Wo.

"Excuse me, pardon the question. I can't say I've ever seen a Pokemon quite like you before. What exactly are you? Are you some sort of rare variant of an existing species?"

Wo: "Oh..! Hello there. I have seen you talking to Spot earlier. I'm glad to see her having the courage to talk to and make friends with humans~"

He focused on Kyo's questions.

Wo: "I am Wo-Chien, one of the four 'Treasures of Ruin' that reside in Paldea. The humans call them 'legendary', but I do say that they're not to call me that, as I don't see myself as one. I feel that, if I had that title, it would lead to unnecessary intimidation, and I don't want to do that to anyone. One of the ways that I let them know that they can trust me is by assisting them with their duties."

He put a vine to where his chin would be.

Wo: "About your second question.. ..I don't think so.. The closest that one can come to another Pokemon that is described as 'snail-like' are ones like Gastrodon and Magcargo. I do like to observe them from a distance when I'm on my travels, and, if i do go close to their territories, I do by best to keep out of their way. I can be compared to them, but, even if I do share some similiarities, I am not related."

Hey! Good thing I caught ya before we left. I just wanna thank you for comforting Shinji back there...he's been dealing with that pain for a while and needed some more reassurance than what I could give...It's nice to know humans from other worlds care.

Kyo looked to the side sheepishly as Poni offered her thanks for assisting with Shinji. "It was nothing really," she said, shrugging a little. "I can't speak to his exact circumstances but... loss is loss. I've experienced it just as he has. Coping with it is hard and comes with time, but it helps if you have support along the way."

"I hope that the pain he's dealing with eases some now. I am sure with you by his side, it will make the burden easier to carry, yes?" Kyo added with a smile.

Meg took a step back from her telescope as the Magi fluttered off along the horizon to deliver gifts to their next recipient. She hummed happily. The stars were especially beautiful that night and Kyo's gift had been the perfect way to observe them.

Meg paused for a moment before looking around. It had been some time since she had seen Kyo. She knew Kyo had gone off to speak with Nat, but surely she would have returned by now. Meg quickly scanned the nearby beaches before her eyes landed on the bar. She quickly felt a wave of relief as she spotted Kyo having a drink with another guest at the party. And then said guest kissed Kyo's hand.

They're flirting. The realization sunk like a rock inside her stomach. Sure, she and Kyo weren't anything official, but seeing Kyo flirt with someone else stung. Meg tucked a bit of hair behind her ear as she watched, toying with what to do now, when a semi-frantic waving caught her attention.

Sitting a little ways down the bar from Kyo and Snakebite were Dani and Gabe. Nat had introduced Meg to them last year and it was plain from the looks on their faces that they were in full knowledge of Meg's current predicament.

Gabe raised his eyebrows and nodded his head towards Kyo, offering a bit of silent encouragement to get Meg to intervene. Meg shrugged and shook her head. Kyo looked happy enough over there. She didn't want to encroach on her good time.

Gabe and Dani exchanged a look, whispering something to each other before looking back towards Meg. Dani began to gesture somewhat energetically to Kyo before pointing a stern finger at Meg. To underscore her point, Gabe lifted up a bottle of coquito and nodded his head towards Kyo again. Meg couldn't help but crack a smile. For better or for worse, it seemed they were rooting for here, and they weren't taking no as an answer here.

"Alright, alright, I hear you," Meg mumbled. Taking a breath to steel her nerves, Meg made her way over to the girls at the bar. "Excuse me!" she said, grabbing Kyo and Snakebite's attention.

"Meg!" Kyo practically shouted in excitement.

Meg felt her heart leap into her throat a bit at how Kyo's face absolutely lit up at her approach. Maybe it was from how tipsy Kyo was, or perhaps Meg had just never noticed it before, but the way Kyo looked at her in that moment made her want to melt.

"Hi Kyo," she said, offering a warm smile. Meg aimed her sharp gaze at Snakebite, now emboldened by Kyo's affection. Snakebite was a lot taller than her, but that didn't stop Meg from setting back her shoulders and doing her best to look as equally imposing.

"I hate to interject, but Kyo promised her night to me, so I've come to collect her. Hope she didn't bother you too much." Meg linked her arm with Kyo's and tugged her towards Gabe and Dani at the bar. "Come on, we've got coquito waiting for us."

"Coquito? Oh fuck yeah," Kyo cheered, her speech starting to slur a bit as she leaned against Meg. "Bye Snakebite, catch you around again soon, I hope."

Meg gently tugged Kyo away from Snakebite and led her down the bar to a set of seats near Dani and Gabe. "I'll take that coquito now, please," she said proudly.

Well, I have some feelings that a culprit we're searching is now near me… After that, I'm gonna meet with them and…arrest if I get succeeded. Then, back to work at my veeeery boring office. (@Askthewhiterocket) "Are you alright, Jellybean?" Meg asked, kneeling down on the ground next to the mew. She gazed in the direction of Void. "Why in Kalos's name would you grab Jellybean like that? Explain yourself at once."

Jellybean’s ears lowered as they hesitated before slowly giving a small nod. "Mew... mew," they murmured, their voice barely above a whisper, refusing to make even the slightest eye contact with Meg. "Why should I explain myself to a human?" Void growled, his tone laced with irritation. But then, after a brief pause, his expression shifted, as if realizing that picking a fight especially in a place like this might not be the best idea. "I simply misjudged the distance between them and a certain Gallade hybrid," he admitted "I wasn’t planning on grabbing this… Mew." He sounded a bit disgusted when referring to Jellybean "Now, if you’ll excuse me," he continued, his voice laced with something unreadable, "I have a little matter to settle." In an instant he vanished causing the surrounding area to gradually brightened and the lingering shadows retreating back to where they belonged.

"Hello once again. I head you lost your friend... M-my condolences...

Y'know, I lost my frie- I mean...partner too... A Pachirisu. He was very brave agent. He sacrificed my life... I was in a same situation as you, helpless...and weak.

But I knew, I should move forward no matter what. Be stronger, help everyone who needs it, and of course, live the life at its fullest. That's the advice I could think of... You might lost your friend, but look at Ogerpon who's near you. You still have someone who is supportive."

She smiles at both.

Shinji smiles looking at Poni, who had a smile on her face as well.

Poni has been helping me cope with the loss, as well as my other friends in Paldea. They all still support and care for me. It makes me feel more at ease.

Shinji chuckles.

Knowing him he'd probably deny any gifts or special treatment. He was never one to expect rewards for what he did. He wasn't exactly humble, but he didn't really expect too much.

You guys are right. I shouldn't waste time feeling sorry for myself. He would want me to continue forward no matter what, and that's just what I'm gonna do. It...It still hurts and just like the Magi said I'll always remember him. But I'm not gonna grieve for the rest of my life.

Shinji hugs the ball one last time before putting it in his pocket and getting up.

Kyo waited patiently as Wo answered both of her questions. "Paldea... I see. Yes, now that you mention it, I vaguely recall a bedtime story my neighbors told me about an ancient king with four treasures that became Pokemon."

Kyo put her hand to her chin in thought, unintentionally mirroring Wo a bit. "Fascinating. You certainly do have a unique appearance, especially compared to Gastrodon and Magcargo. Really round out the whole elemental snail-like trio with your presumably grass-typing."

"Well, thank you for humoring my question," she said, offering a smile. "It's nice to see Spot has such kind companions. Spot's also a pleasure to talk to as well. It's nice to see her again after a year. She seems much more confident and comfortable than when we first met."

Taking a seat beside Hoku, Destiny's ears twitched slightly as her head turned towards the Torracat, then the Purrloin. She could just feel the tension between the two.

"Sorry if it's a bit rude to ask this, but why don't you two get along with each other? Is there a problem or something?"

Hoku: Dont worry, its not rude when everyone can see it. I actually dont remember when it started. I got to work in the CallCenter as a part timer before Choro joined us. So for all i care she should show me some respect! Well, so i thought. She isnt nasty to me but the snappy comments kinda get to me. Im a hot head after all!

From their distance you could hear an audible groan.

The Meowstics question about their relationship being more than co-workers makes the Torracat laugh. After a quick breather they answer her.

Hoku: No, we have never crossed that line and i think we wont. Im still a teenager and no idea how old that hag is!

Hoku: Okay, i deserved that.

"Thank you!" Meg and Kyo called as the Magi delivered their gifts and parted ways.

"They seemed very attentive to you this year," Meg remarked with a laugh.

Kyo rubbed her head a bit, trying to inspect her crown without disturbing it. "Does mine... have more gardenias than yours?" She shook her head. "That can't be good..."

"You're reading too much into it! Come on, back to the bar!"

(askthewhiterocket) Kyo and Meg laid out their water and berries neatly before them. "Oh great Magi," Meg called out, "it is wonderfully to speak with you again! We seek your blessings as we head into the new year and face new challenges in the times to come." "Grant us your guidance and some clarity, will you?" Kyo added.

[The trio descended to the pair as they've done in the past, flitting around in amusement and recognition. They show a particular amount of attention to Kyo, as if having an idea of what may come for her in the near future.]

[Upon both their heads the lights drop detailed crowns made of gardenia, white heathers, and holly-Kyo's in particular contained a few more gardenias compared to Meg.]

While Kyo was talking to Spot, her siblings Ogerpon and Pink ran over. Pink was holding an apple crate.

Ogerpon: "Hiya!"

Spot: "I h-hope you d-don't mind m-meeting my siblings here.. S-sorry if Ogerpon i-is a bit..uh..b-boisterous around you both.."

Ogerpon: (she ran over to Kyo, holding an apple) "We brought apples from Kitakami too! Do you want one? They're really big and crunchy and good!"

'They wish to know if you'd like an apple,' Meowstic translated. 'They are from Kitakami and quite delicious, from what the Ogerpon claims.'

"Oh! Why I'd love one. Thank you, Ogerpon," Kyo said with a smile, taking the apple. She took a bite out of it and hummed. "Oh this is quite good," she said, covering her mouth. Swallowing, Kyo offered the apple to Meowstic. "A bite for you?"

'Don't mind if I do,' Meowstic answered, biting into the apple. She flicked her tails happily and purred. 'Oh this is quite delicious! Thank you, dear Ogerpon!'

'"Gyarados?" Kyo repeated, as she tried to recall anything.

'I seem to recall a gyarados sashimi and a fish cake.' Meowstic supplied.

"Oh right! And that Alola style Poke bowl too," Kyo said with a snap of her fingers.

(AskTheWhiteRocket) Catching sight of the familiar Malamar, Kyo began to wave and called out, "Hey!!" "Mrowr!!" Meowstic called out alongside her. Kyo trotted over to Spot and smiled. "Nice to see you again. How have you been? Any big events happen in that Terarium or with your friends since we last spoke?"

Spot turned to see who was speaking. She was quick to respond after seeing the familiar face.

Spot: "H-hello again..! I r-remember you from last t-time..! I have been d-doing well..! H-how have you been..?"

She noticed the Meowstic and showed the psychic cat a friendly look.

Spot: "Y-your Meowstic is cute too..! I d-don't see m-many humans with them, outside of those that have them to help.."

She had a thought, then shook her head.

Spot: "I haven't been b-back there, a-and...to be honest...I don't w-want to go back there.. I know the Terarium i-is a place w-where research is c-carried out, but...I d-don't really like it i-in there.. Th-there is also t-too much there that's f-focused around battles.. ..i-it's still n-not my thing.."

The Malamar put her fins together and showed a cheery look.

Spot: "Me a-and my sisters, a-and our f-friends got to see our d-dads get married too, i-in Kitakami..! Th-thinking about it i-is still making me happy to h-have been able to become part of their f-family..~ I-it is something that I n-never knew would happen to me...a-and it's nice to know h-how much w-we cherish each other..~"
