Dalgona Coffee Recipe / Whipped Coffee Recipe is a beverage made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar and hot water until it becomes frothy and then added to chilled milk. The drink is also said to closely resemble the Indian beverage known as phenti hui coffee (or beaten coffee). But use ripe, sweet and deep coloured mango to get a delicious taste and beautiful colour. You can use mango varieties like Alphonsa, Baganapalli or Imam Pasand but don’t use sour mango else the cake taste bad. If you are not able to get fresh mangoes, go ahead with canned mango pulp. As mangoes are in abundance in the market now, just make use of it, do try this cake and enjoy during teatime.

It is not possible to make this coffee with coffee bean powder and you add hot milk to the same recipe to make a Cappuccino version. As per Wiki, The coining of the name is credited to the South Korean actor Jung Il-woo, who ordered a whipped coffee at an eatery in Macau during his appearance on a TV show called Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant (신상출시 편스토랑). He likened the taste to that of dalgona, a type of Korean honeycomb toffee. The drink is also said to closely resemble the Indian beverage known as phenti hui coffee (or beaten coffee).
