Fun fact! Theater has been kicking my ass recently, and I’ve learned it is not for the faint of heart!

On that note, I’m part of a local production of Ride the Cyclone! Granted, I am just an ensemble member for all three weekends we’re doing shows (my director triple-casted the leads and chose to include a dance/singing ensemble), but hohhhhh boy, they’re having us put some SERIOUS legwork in. I’m in almost every number except for Uranium Suite and This Song is Awesome- and while it’s been VERY tiring, it’s been wonderful :3

Rambling aside, I did some doodles of Jane Doe while waiting for the show to begin over the past couple of days! She’s such a fun character, and I’ve loved seeing all of the different interpretations of her look.

🌱 Plant Update (+ greenhouse photos) 🌱

Figured it was about time to do one of these bad boys 🤣

On Easter Sunday I set up my greenhouse out in the backyard- and hohhhhh boy, has it been giving me trouble. All of my plants that I had started originally- unfortunately- were victims of me not setting things up properly over the past couple of weeks (didn’t think to zip-tie down the wire shelves or tighten the guylines more on the cover…..) so I had to start anew a couple of days ago- but this batch is growing fantastically so far! My radishes, marigolds, kale, and lettuce have started to sprout up :) I was even pleasantly surprised when I went to check on my peppers- one has started to peek up out of the soil.

(This also reminds me that I need to plant my potatoes sometime this week, haha- I’m doing them in laundry baskets this year to see how they grow!)

I also picked up a few seedlings when I went to go pick up more seed starting soil, since the garden center finally opened up at my local hardware store! I grabbed two varieties of tomato and three strawberry plants (which will probably grow to be five or six plants soon- I’m an absolute FIEND for fresh strawberries)- and when I go again, I’m going to take more of a look at what other plants and herbs they have and see what else I feasibly could have in my planting spaces.

Slowly starting to build up my manga collection!

Danganronpa and Alice in Borderland are two of my all-time favorite series, so to have them gracing my shelves (well, not quite shelves just yet- I don’t have the space to set a big display up just yet) is a great joy :3

I’m hoping to also collect the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, the Soul Eater (and Soul Eater NOT!) manga, the DanDaDan manga, and the Junji Ito collection! There are also a couple of other series I hope I can collect at some point, but I’m not sure if they have a physical copy to them or not.

🌿 1 month(ish) update on my plants 🌿

My babies are ✨thriving ✨ (well, for the most part)

I was a complete and utter dodo and tossed my pepper plants that I had originally started out in the garbage because they hadn’t sprouted yet….. The packet of seeds said it’d take 10-21 days to sprout, and I only waited 14 💀 I learned my lesson, though, and have waited for them- and two of the four that I’ve planted this time around have popped out of the soil in the past couple of days! The second batch of marigolds, spinach, and lettuce that I planted also are starting to peep their sprouts out of the soil :)

My strawberry starters haven’t been doing so hot in all honesty, so I’m probably going to be giving them a few more days to see if any kind of growth happens before pitching them. They may be a buy-the-seedling-instead kind of plant for this year 😅

Everything else is growing beautifully, though! In the next few days for the plants that have multiple sprouts coming out of the soil, I’m going to pull out the weaker seedlings so the bigger ones have some more room to grow.

Once I finally really have a day off of work to get out in my yard and do things, I’m also going to assess the berry bushes in the boxes below our windowsill; they haven’t produced any fruit in the two years that we’ve had them, so I think it may be time to uproot and plant some new ones. If I can get raspberries going, I’ll be a happy little bear for certain 😌

🌿 1 week update on my seeds! 🌿

The leafy greens I picked out (spinach, kale, + lettuce) and marigolds are sprouting up like crazy, and my red currant tomatoes have finally decided to peek out of the dirt!

The fourth of july hybrid tomatoes, carnival blend peppers, and strawberries haven’t really had any signs of growth yet, though :(( I plan on giving the tomatoes and peppers a few more days, though, to see if they’ll start sprouting- and I’m going to de-pot the strawberry starters I have planted currently once I get paid again and can get the plant-starting soil that I need to try again with them.

Hoping the weather becomes more stable soon around here so I can break out the walk-in greenhouse I got for Christmas last year and get these bad boys outside 😩👌 (that AND get started on some of my other seeds; I have radishes, broccoli, green beans, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, and two different varieties of potatoes that I’m DYING to get started on growing)

Started some seeds in advance for my garden in the morning on 3/14 and I’m so proud of my babies 🥺💚🌿 Both of my kale plants have sprouted, and one of my marigolds is starting to peek up out of the soil! I honestly wasn’t expecting there to be much of any growth for a full week, so seeing this makes me so happy
