While walking around downtown Detroit, I came across a bed of beautiful Black-Eyed Susans. I thought for a moment about how to capture their beauty in the middle of this cityscape. Sometimes you just have to get low and look up to get a different perspective.

While spending some time in Detroit, I had an evening to go out and take a few photos. It happened to be the night of a full moon. Featured is the Ambassador Bridge connecting the US with Canada.

Ready to fly

Sometimes a trip to the zoo is just what a photographer needs. This was taken at the San Diego Zoo Butterfly Exhibit. I could have stayed here for hours trying to capture the beauty of these creatures. At least I got one really good shot.

While attending a photography workshop in 2021 in Eastern Kentucky, I visited the birthplace of Loretta Lynn. The home was in a place called Butch Holler. Someone had a bit of fun by placing this manikin in the upstairs window. I just loved the feel it gave to the home and the contrasting colors of the fabric against the colorful wood.

Hanging out with Mama

Twice I have had the opportunity to spend some time close and up person with a herd of bison. While I was protected from their fierce bodies, I was close enough to hand feed! Their tongues are rough, and their breath smells bad but have noses that are soft and wet. Such a gentle creature until provoked, then LOOK OUT!

Time to Run

While staying at the Terry Bison Ranch in Cheyenne Wyoming, I woke to a herd of horses running to breakfast. It was a very unexpected and pleasant surprise to watch as they moved from one field to the next.
