Sharing this here a bit late as usual...
October has always been a time for me to dive into the shadowier aspects of the world, and as a very receptive person towards aesthetics, I always want to fully immerse myself into anything that interest me and pour it out of me through fashion and clothes. And I resonate deeply with the dark glamour of the vampire figure and with the return of the cold weather, I feel strongly creatively inspired by it.
From the Victorian romantics of gothic literature to the modernized spin of the nineties, all the way to Gen Z’s revival of vampirecore, here is a deep dive on the vampire aesthetics throughout the decades, using examples in movies (old and new) and fashion (high and low brow).
I will also explore the concept and why this idea still remains so attractive to this day, and why people keep going back to it time and time again.
So yeah, here is this year’s Halloween special video, exploring through a fashion and cultural lens a massive figure of the spooky genre. You can always check out last year’s video about witches and witchcore:    • witchcore: the origins | Halloween sp...

Totally forgot to share this here but here you go.
This video was very important to me because it made me honor a very important time of my life, and I got to go over old memories of a time long gone but still vivid in my mind.
At first, I wanted to do a voice-over intro, but I thought that the visuals and the music were already expressing the feelings i wanted to convey well enough. This awe, this nostalgia, the romantic tension between pain and pleasure. All those nights and summer blend in my head but they are still part of me. And although my life is very different now, I'm still the same Fool wandering on Earth.
Each video I get a little closer to my vision and I'm trying to find peace in the imperfection and not to be too harsh with myself.
Next video will be a Halloween special (hint: it bites) and after that I'll resume working on the next part of the rave subcultures series, with techno.

The Evermore Grimoire: Mythology
Asteria (Αστερια meaning ‘Starry’) was the Titan goddess of the falling stars, prophetic dreams and astrology in Greek mythology. After the fall of the Titans, Zeus (king of the gods) chased Asteria across the sky but she escaped him by transforming herself into a quail and leaping into the Aegean Sea. It was there that she metamorphosed into the island Asteria (’The Island which had Fallen From Heaven Like a Star’) or the ‘Quail Island’Ortygia. This then became identified with the island of Delos, which was the only place on earth to give refuge to her fugitive sister Leto(goddess of motherhood), when pregnant with Zeus’s children, she was pursued by the vengeful Hera (goddess of marriage). It was on the same island that Asteria married her Titan cousin Perses and gave birth to their daughter Hecate(goddess of witchcraft).
