he  follows  suit,  more  or  less  letting  those  wicked  lithe  fingers  tug  him  forward  a  step.  &  then  another.  &  another.  &  the  moment  they’ve  crossed  a  threshold,  where  their  company  couldn’t  possibly  see  them  without  considerable  effort  does  he  let  some  small  part  of  him  loose.  feral  &  hungry.   wolfwood  steps  into  her  space  ;  crowding  her  until  the  sound  of  shifting  sandstone  greets  his  ears  —  her  back  brushing  up  against  the  coarse  surface  of  an  outcropped  boulder.  “fucking  bold  of  ya.”  he  half-snarls  ;  teeth  glinting  beneath  the  moonlight  as  he  reaches  up.  letting  the  meat  of  his  palm  drag  over  the  line  of  her  clavicle  &  up,  up,  up,  feeling  out  the  line  of  her  throat.  he  shifts  ;  his  head  tilting  back  —  drinking  her  in  as  the  hand  resting  over  the  column  of  her  throat  encloses  around  it.  pressing  in  just  enough  to  feel  the  swell  of  that  pretty  little  thing  against  the  full  expanse  of  his  hand.    “jus' remember, no one ever said i was a good  man. . .”

it’s  immediate  ;  the  way  in  which  rumi’s  hands  find  purchase  against  the  little  reporter’s  shoulder.  the  rough-pads  of  her  fingers  pressing  in  against  the  warmth  seeping  through  meryl’s  jacket.  offering  support  despite  the  fact  that  her  haunches  have  flared.    her  upper  lip  pulling  back  to  reveal  the  sharp-edge  of  ivory.  the  anger  is  paramount  &  if  her  time  wasn’t  currently  being  occupied  by  the  smaller  woman,  then  she’d  definitely  be  well  on  her  way  to  making  it  the  worst  day  possible  for  those  creeps  in  the  means  of  introducing  them  to  the  bottom  part  of  a  heel.  

though,  she  surmises  that  tearing  a  few  cretins  limb  from  limb  would  probably  be  frowned  upon  here.  a  huff  of  air  passes  through  her  nose,  &  she’s  quick to forcefully  shake  the  tension  from  her  limbs  before leaning  back  against  the  booth  ;  ushering  meryl  along  with  her.  absently,  rumi  shifts  ;  wrapping  an  arm  around  the  petite  woman’s  frame  ;  toying  with  the  stray  ends  of  her  fringe.  “they’re  lucky  you’re  cute.”

a  feather,  crimson  by  nature,  ghosts  over  the  apple  of  her  check  —  its  owner  seeking  attention  within  the  comfortable  silence  stretching  between  them.    her  nose  twitches  at  the  sensation  ;  carmine  hues  flicking  up  to  meet  sharp  flecks  of  gold.  there’s  a  hand  in  her  hair  ;  kneading  at  the  base  of  her  ears  —    the  near-petting  practically  eliciting  &  near  constant  purr  from  the  rabbit  hero.  

“what?”  it’s  rough-bare  ;  the  tone  thick  from  disuse  &  when  he  doesn’t  outright  answer  her,  she  shifts  —-  pulling  away  from  those  hands  nestling  within  her  fluff  in  favor  of  pinning  him  with  a  look.

rumi  blinks.  confusion  apparent  &  then  blinks  once  more  in  a  bout  of  amusement  before  promptly  flopping  back  into  his  lap  with  a  snort.  the  heel  of  her  hand  reaching  out  to  paw  at  the  base  of  his  chin  ;  pushing  him  back  &  away  playfully.
