How many times do you think Merle or Magnus wake up to Taako just stealing their body heat? Like the elf wasn't there earlier but he's here now

All the time.

Much more than anyone would expect for how far he keeps himself away from everyone.

The cuddling starts right at the beginning, when it’s just the three of them and they barely know each other. They’re out on the road, and he doesn’t mean to, but Taako just drifts to one of their bedrolls - no preference, just whoever is closer. They wake up to an armful of elf, quietly sleeping and closer to them than he usually gets while awake. He doesn’t seem to notice that he’s doing it until he wakes up the next morning and he’s not where he fell asleep. Magnus and Merle don’t mind, but Taako doesn’t want to talk about it.

When Taako makes a point to stay away, he has night terrors. It happens every night without exception; he shifts and cries out, clutches the sheets and reaches for something. Magnus and Merle manage to put up with listening to that for three nights before they can’t stand it anymore. One of them climbs up to the top bunk every night, and climbs back down before he’s awake in the morning. Taako knows, but he doesn’t say anything; none of them say anything. It should be weird, a weird thing to do for three people who have just met, but it doesn’t feel weird to them. They don’t need to talk about it.

When they’re in the bigger apartment, Taako doesn’t sleep right next to them in the same room anymore. He assumes that means the end of the cuddling - he won’t keep anyone up with his noise now - but Magnus is at his door before bed, standing awkwardly.

“Thought you’d like some company,” he says. Merle is right behind him.

It’s a tossup over who is sleeping in any room at any time, but Taako is usually not alone. Sometimes one or both of his roommates will be in his room, and sometimes he’ll wander to one or the other’s room. The rest of the Bureau starts to catch on, especially after Angus walks in one morning for a magic lesson to find all three of them passed out together on the couch. 

Angus, as it happens, has no objection to cuddly naps. After-lesson naps become part of their routine, along with snacks and occasional pranks.

Carey and Killian tease Taako for the cuddling when they find out, until Magnus quietly tells them what it’s like to sleep nearby while Taako is sleeping alone. Taako feels like he should have an explanation - some kind of story about a traumatic past - but he really doesn’t

When asked, he just shrugs. “The bed feels too empty.”

Three years ago, my dog went viral on Imgur and Reddit, thanks to this picture I took right after she’d yanked down a post from the front of our house with her bare strength.

But like the image above says, this is not a good post.

That dog above, the one that made so many people laugh, her name is Eva, and she’s my 7-year-old lab. She was just diagnosed with canine lymphoma.

Without chemo, she only has 3 months left with us. But her oncologist has given her a good prognosis with chemotherapy. She could live to see her 9th, 10th, and even 11th birthday.

Which means more years of this happy, ridiculous puppy.

The price to extend her life? $8500.

I nearly died when I saw the number. I’m paying off 4 student loans right now, and my parents are in insurmountable debt. I thought, this is it, we’re screwed. In between crying spells and anxiety attacks, I realized what my choices were: give up and let Eva go in the next 3 months, or crowdfund my ass off.

Internet: you’ve done it before, now I’m begging you, do it again. Spread Eva like wildfire. She deserves a second chance. She deserves the extra time, and all the fun and happiness she’ll have in that time.

“You can criticize something you love!”

Yeah, and you can also get tired of criticizing something you love. You can get completely fed up with it and decide, “You know what? Flaws aside, I love this thing, and I don’t have to waste hours of my life admitting its flaws to strangers on the Internet in order to somehow justify my love of it.” You can get sick of watching others gleefully tear it apart, for no reason other than that it’s popular and they hate that you love it. You can get sick of watching others tearing it apart with good intentions, too.

In the end, it’s just a cartoon, or a book, or a movie. It’s not that serious, and you can enjoy it without hyper-focusing on its flaws. You don’t need to justify your love of something to someone else, least of all a person you don’t even know.

Bad news

I have some bad news for you. Snapchat is not safe. Recently, they have given users the ability to create their own filters, and some of those users too advantage of that. They implanted viruses into the code of the filter, activated when the user opens the filter. These viruses can get into your phone and steal everything on it, giving it to the user. The user then takes that information and blackmails the user for various things. These things range from extortion to full on rape. Just deciding to not use the filters does not work. If someone uses a filter you don’t have, Snapchat automatically downloads the filter to show the picture to you. Just opening that picture will download the virus onto your phone, compromising your system.

I personally know two people who have been targeted by these types of people, and the toll it takes is massive. So, for the love of God, GET RID OF SNAPCHAT. GET IT OFF YOUR PHONE. Once that is done, tell all your friends about this. Get this message everywhere. This is important. I do not want to hear about anybody else being targeted by these people.

Tl;dr: read the damn thing.

i live on countdown. thirty-three days until i am done with this. twenty-something until christmas, until new years. only three days of work before a day of rest. just eight more classes until i graduate. just one more year until i’m out of here. just. just. just this moment itself kind of feels like i’m both wasting it and wasting in it. like it’s killing me to be here and live through it but i know when i look back it will seem like it passed in an instant. already i’m worrying that i’m missing the best of things. already i’m worrying that it doesn’t get better on the other side of this. that i reach the end of the countdown just for another one to begin. like i don’t know how to survive without a clock telling me there’s ten days before he goes away again or there’s six years before i have to buy a house or there’s only so much time left before my youth runs out. how do you plan for the future and also live in the moment. how do you keep your childhood joy and also obsess about what happens two years from now. 

i just want off the ledge. i want to be someone who doesn’t care what happens next. i want to be someplace that whatever happens, happens. that i’m not worried about the end.

For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.

It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.

IF YOU NEED TO CALL 911 BUT ARE SCARED TO BECAUSE OF SOMEONE IN THE ROOM, dial and ask for a pepperoni pizza. They will ask if you know you’re calling 911. Say yes, and continue pretending you’re making an order. They’ll ask if there’s someone in the room.

You can ask how long it will take for the pizza to get to you, and they will tell you how far away a dispatcher is.
