One last love letter to these brothers before I try desperately to ignore their existence in favor of enjoying Deltarune more properly…

I really wanted to capture a few specific feelings, the main one being of “giving up everything for a person you love”. The only real story I have is pretty vague, and more just a situation that could have hypothetically happened in their backstory. Sans and Papyrus lived in Deltarune, until Papyrus really fucked up and he had to leave because of his mistakes, and Sans, while not having to also leave, chooses to come with him.

Sans in Undertale always talks about wanting to “go back home”, but we never hear any of that from Papyrus. And yet…he showed up one day and asserted himself right alongside Sans. So whats with that??? This introduces the idea that instead of just forgetting, maybe he really doesn’t want to go back…Or isnt the type to linger on the past, either or.

They both are able to live happy lives after this, it’s just a big sacrifice on both of their parts- Sans for leaving a life he loves, behind, and Papyrus for giving up on fixing what he’s destroyed. I wanted to convey a feeling of…helpless but certainty. All they can do is run, but theyre both the type to persevere no matter what. ofc their ways are a tad different from each other, but you get me.

But thats another thing, the only reason why they feel this way is because they’re going somewhere they don’t want to be, but the only reason why they persevere no matter what is because they stick together.

The line “id move from heaven to earth for you” is ofc a play on “id move heaven and earth for you”. Sans is moving from a world where they have a nice fresh start, are NOT stuck underground, and like 100 other things that arent there in Undertale... To UNDERTALE. He’s moving from heaven to…not hell, the underground isnt that bad. but definitely much lesser than heaven-

But ya :D I feel such strong emotions towards these 2 morons, and I gotta dump it all out somewhere before I try to focus on Deltarune things…

AstridDubz Auditions!

Hey! I’m Kirby, the person behind AstridDubz (+ my amazing team!) — a brand new Comic Dub channel that’s just getting started!,

I’m currently holding auditions for our very first video, and I’d love for you to be part of it!
