Attention everyone who lives in the Orlando area!
There’s a letter going around from “The Orlando Office” offering job opportunities to students. There are several red flags throughout the letter that tell me it’s either a scam or a trafficking scheme:
No logo, unusual for a company
“The Orlando Office” does not exist! All that turned up when I searched for them was a location for the Orlando Office Center which has a bunch of small businesses that don’t really hire students
In the letter they mention that “1000 students per summer apply” which is an incredibly low number for the Orlando area and surrounding towns
At no point in the letter do they mention what the job is.
They urge you to apply regardless of the length of your summer break, if you’re in class, and if you’re already working.
There is no contact information besides a QR code. There’s no person mentioned, and the envelope didn’t even have a return address.
Please signal boost this as much as possible, this is incredibly important! Florida is a hotbed for human trafficking (and much worse), so I urge all of you to be as safe as you can!

I think one of my favorite things about HTTYD2 is how the first track “Dragon Racing” recaps the entire soundtrack of the first movie.

So this is what they said in Race to the Edge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what happened in How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Astrid: They know we’re missing and they have tracking dragons! And if you so much as touch us? Hiccup is gonna kick- Drago: Hiccup? Eret: He’s not a problem. Really! Trust me. Astrid: He’s only the son of Stoick the Vast, his heir to the throne of Berk, and the greatest Dragon Master this world has ever seen! Drago: Dragon Master?! I alone control the dragons! Tuffnut: Nope, mh-hm. *shakes his head* Fishlegs: Sorry! The Dragon Riders: *laugh in unison*
Okay, so in Race to the Edge, Mala admits to believing that Hiccup was the only person in the world able to ‘train’ and ‘control’ dragons. And Hiccup, get this, never even denies it. Astrid doesn’t deny it either! And this is after she managed to get through to Sleuther!
So this got me thinking. What if Hiccup really is the only one who can actually ‘train’ a dragon.
They state in RttE that the Singetails of the Flyers aren’t trained. They are being forced to do their bidding. The dragons only listen because they are chained up and feel like they have no other choice. The minute their Flyer is gone and those chains are off, they flee back to wherever their home is. They don’t stay and protect their riders like the dragons of Berk and the dragons of the Riders do.
Dragons have an instinct to protect. That is pretty much what RoB was all about. They dedicated an entire episode to revealing just that. And so far the dragons of the Riders have done nothing to disprove that.
A truly ‘trained’ dragon, a dragon who genuinely bonded with their human companion, would never leave them in danger like that. Many of those Flyers died pretty much because their dragons weren’t willing to stick around to save them.
The same can be said for Drago’s dragons.
Drago has a Bewilderbeast that he has beaten presumably ever since it was little. How else could you ever beat a behemoth such as that into submission?
Drago doesn’t train dragons. He controls them, forces his will onto them through the Bewilderbeast much like the Red Death forced her will on the dragons of Berk five years prior.
He has never bonded with any of these dragons, he will never experience the deep relationship based on mutual trust, friendship, and respect that Hiccup and Toothless have.
Lose that one single thing that allows him to keep control over the dragons and they will bail on him as fast as the dragons of the Flyers did.
Drago’s conviction that he is the only one capable of controlling dragons, that he can control dragons at all, is an illusion. He was never truly in control. He had one dragon that he could manipulate, that feared him enough to never go against his command, and that dragon so happened to be a Bewilderbeast.
If there is one thing that Toothless proves at the end of Httyd 2, it’s that once that control is broken, that fearsome army of dragons did not hesitate to switch sides and abandon their ‘Dragon Master’.
That’s where Hiccup is different.
He hasn’t amassed an entire army of dragons through power and fear. He just doesn’t need to.
In Httyd 1, he convinced Toothless, a Nadder, a Gronckle, a Zippleback, and even a Monstrous Nightmare that he knew for less than a day to follow him and his peers into battle with the Red Death, a gigantic dragon who can swallow an entire Gronckle whole in one bite. He convinced them to work with the very same teens who were training to kill them and for some reason they listened. And after that harrowing battle, many of the dragon of the Nest decided to follow him and Toothless back to Berk, creating Berk’s dragon pack.
In RoB and DoB, Hiccup has been seen creating temporary bonds with completely wild dragons, even earning the lifelong respect and friendship of a mother Whispering Death who just wanted her children, having reunited her with her biggest offspring, the Screaming Death.
In RttE, Hiccup has managed to convince an angry pack of wild dragons, traumatized and vengeful towards any human they came across after the torture they suffered at the hands of Dragon Hunters, to follow him and help him free Dragon’s Edge. He befriended another, smaller, group of dragons held for the sole purpose of fighting to the death with other dragons and got them to help him and themselves escape. Lastly, he’s been seen leading the dragons of Berk in battle with Toothless to free their home from Krogan’s clutches, something that they apparently could not do until the Dragon Bros came back home.
There is literally no one else who has ever done any of these awesome things, who has ever managed to gather an entire army of dragons without the need to force them to bend to his will.
Hiccup is the Dragon Master because dragons want to follow him willingly, because he understands them and speaks to them as a dragon would (like how he uses his Inferno, his wings, and his body language to communicate to them). Dragons want to protect and follow him.
Hiccup’s Riders know this. They have seen him work with dragons for the past five years, were even completely astounded all the way back when Hiccup first lead a Monstrous Nightmare calmly to them with only the palm of his hand, have seen him at the forefront of a dragon army before.
That’s why Drago’s conviction that he’s the real ‘Dragon Master’ is as hilarious to them as his believe he can make Vikings bow down to him. The idea that he can do what Hiccup can do is absolutely ludicrous to them.
In their eyes, there is only one real Dragon Master and they’ve grown up with him.
Also this is pretty much why I love the ‘Hiccup is actually considered a dragon Alpha (or Queen as some fics state, supposedly knowing no male counterpart after 300 years of the Red Death) after the defeat of the Red Death’ theory. Just that one episode ‘No Bark, All Bite’ does back this theory up a little.
Berk had an entire pack of dragons. How did they not fight back when Krogan came to take control of their island? Literally the only reason they started to fight back was because Hiccup and Toothless had come back home. And they literally waited to attack until he gave Toothless the order.

I’m really surprised we don’t see more modern AUs where Hiccup rolls around in a wheelchair when he doesn’t want to use his prosthetic leg.
Imagine Hiccup in a wheelchair that he’s decked out in black and red to match Toothless. Imagine him trying to pop wheelies on it.

The plot of Snuffnut basically
Ruffnut, at Tuffnut’s funeral: Can I have a moment alone with him?
The rest of the dragon riders, as they leave: Yeah.
Ruffnut, leaving over the coffin: Listen, I know you’re not dead.
Tuffnut, opening one eye: Yeah, no shit.
