Complementary Compatibility!
Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) and air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) can have a natural compatibility in astrology. Fire signs are known for their passion, energy, and spontaneity, while air signs are known for their intellect, communication skills, and social nature.
Fire signs and air signs are both active and tend to be outgoing, so they often have a lot of fun together. Air signs enjoy the lively energy of fire signs, while fire signs enjoy the mental stimulation and lively conversations that air signs can bring. This can make for a dynamic and exciting relationship.
Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) and Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) can have a complementary compatibility.
Earth signs are known for their practicality, reliability, and stability, while Water signs are known for their emotional depth, intuition, and sensitivity. Earth signs can provide grounding and stability for Water signs, while Water signs can offer emotional support and understanding to Earth signs.
However, it's important to note that individual birth charts and other factors such as personal values and life experiences can also play a significant role in relationship compatibility. While fire signs and air signs can have a natural compatibility, it's important to consider the unique characteristics of each individual and how they mesh with their partner's personality.

The 3 Modalities
In astrology, there are three modalities or qualities: cardinal, fixed, and mutable. The modalities describe how each zodiac sign behaves and operates in the world. They are also associated with different stages within a season. There is one element sign (fire, air, earth, water) with each modality.
Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are associated with beginnings, initiative, and action. They start the season and bring a sense of originality. They are known for being leaders, initiators, and self-starters. Cardinal signs are not afraid to take risks and often seek to create new projects or start new endeavors. They have a strong sense of purpose and are not easily deterred.
Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) are associated with stability, endurance, and determination. They embody each season fully. They are known for being consistent, reliable, and unwavering. Fixed signs often have a strong sense of direction and are committed to achieving their goals. They are also loyal and protective of their loved ones.
Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are associated with flexibility, adaptability, and changeability. They end the season and help transition into the next one. They are known for being versatile, curious, and adaptable. Mutable signs are often able to see multiple perspectives and are comfortable with change. They are also good at adapting to new situations and solving problems.
The modalities describe the ways in which each zodiac sign approaches the world and interacts with others. Cardinal signs are focused on creating change and taking action, fixed signs are focused on stability and endurance, and mutable signs are focused on flexibility and adaptability. Understanding the modalities can provide insight into a person's personality, strengths, and challenges. I hope this helps you get some insight about yourself or others when it comes to how they see the world and their place in it!

Mercury is in Retrograde??
Have u ever felt a little off? Communicating with other felt impossible and in general your energy just felt drained? Mercury was probably in retrograde. I'm sure you're wondering what that means! When Mercury is in retrograde the planet appear to go backward in orbit. The optical illusion happens multiple times a year since there are 365 days a year and it only takes 88 days for Mercury to orbit the sun. Since the planet of mercury rules thought and communication you can expect there to be an increase in miscommunication, delays, and even technological mishaps. You can expect a lot of "that's not what I meant" or "I don't think you are hearing me" People are advised not to make any life-changing decisions during this time like signing a major business deal or deciding to cut off all your hair. In addition during this time you can expect people from your past to return and feelings of reopening of old wounds. I advise that when old people from the past to ask yourself these questions...1.)Is this relationship healthy and fit who I am today? 2.)Is there anything I can learn from this person anymore? 3.)Is this a draining cycle I am choosing to be apart of? This time is meant for reflection and taking time to slow down and look at where you are currently rather than jump into any quick and hasty decisions. While this time may feel like everything is a little out of place try to remember it won't last forever and you can come out of retrograde better than ever!

Birth chart? Tell me more
Have you ever thought that astrology seemed too general and that any person could fit the way the signs are described? That makes sense and is understandable... what if I told you there is more to you than just the sign associated with your birthday. There is something called a birth chart and everyone has one! You can get yours by knowing your birthday, your time of birth, and the location of where you were born. If you don't have the time you were born you can still get your chart but won't get your rising sign. I'm sure you're confused reading this like what even is a rising sign??? I will now explain the different parts of a birth chart and hopefully you will get a better understanding by the end of it. First let me introduce your BIG 5:
Sun Sign - represents your ego and motivations
This is the sign you probably already know as it is the one associated with your birthday. I have found that these tend to be overarching similarities that people within the same sign share.
Moon Sign- represents your emotions
This is how you deal with your feelings and/act when you are comfortable.
Mercury Sign-represents how you think and communicate
This is how you speak to/with others and articulate your thoughts and process information
Venus Sign- represents the way you show love and what/who you are attracted to
This is how you show affection and relates to your love language.
Mars Sign-represents your instincts, passion, and aggression
This is how you assert yourself as well as pursue your motivations
These placements are considered your BIG 5 and affect you on a personal level. There are more placements I will explain later that affect you on a more broad level.

It may have come up one way or another in conversation whether that be someone asking "hey when's your birthday?" or "Whats your zodiac sign?" To make it simple your astrological sign is the symbol in which you fall under due to the day and month that you were born. This is also referred to your Sun Sign (I'll tell you why in a bit). People that fall under the same sign tend to have similar characteristics. However this is not always the case... this is because there are other placements within your birth chart that affect how you act/feel. Welcome! What is Astrology?
Hi how are you? Welcome to my blog I'm Alyssa and I know a thing or two about astrology that I would like to share with you. Recently there has been a rise in the popularity of Astrology but it can be hard to know exactly just what it is. I would like to start by saying it is not the same thing astronomy! That is the study of the stars and planets and outer space. To make it a bit easier to understand astrology is the use of the movements and position of planets and stars that are interpreted to see how they affect our human experience on both an individual and global level. I'm sure you've heard the term zodiac sign or "horoscopes" at some point one way or another. Through this space I want to dig into what that means. Some may find it hard to believe and that is completely okay! The purpose of this blog is to help educate and build a community with those wanting to know more about it. While reading through some things might resonate and other things may seem far fetched which is only natural. Although for those who are hesitant to believe in astrology I encourage you to take a chance you may learn more about yourself or the people around you.
