She admitted as she stepped through the doorway smiling softly at Ava as she walked past her. When was the last time anyone held a door open for her? Usually they slammed it in her face... it was nice, even if it was a simple gesture.

" Isn't that always the way though? The Rich big wigs throw all the money at a problem. They do none of the work and get all the credit--- meanwhile us big brains do all the work and most folks will never hear our names. But, at least in this case all that cash is going toward something good! so i suppose i shouldn't complain... "

She asked curious as she stepped past the threshold into the museum and gazed up at the vaulted ceiling. She whistled softly as it was much bigger then she thought! Which only served to distract her further when Ava casually suggested they cuddle! It made poor Rivet's tail swished behind her as her cheeks tinged red!

She fidgeted rather nervously but smiled as her fingers touched her own cheek.

" I uhh...oh so your thermically efficient... that's neat--- i mean! that sounds nice, like... umm, i'd like that alot actually..."

She smiled, and her tail swayed back and forth as her soft blue eyes met Ava's but she, pulled herself out of her dizzy haze and pointed to one of the signs not wanting to stare more then she already had! What was it about that harpy that got her ears burning! but right! the museum! focus Rivet she scolded herself!

" SO UH! which exhibit should we go to first! hehe! "

"Heh, yeah, it's definitely a lot safer than engineering! Still stressful, though." Trying to study a tint bone fragment without accidentally crushing it into powder was more tense than playing Dark Souls.

"Marsh was... well, he was a lot of things, depending on who you asked. Peabody was just a philanthropist, but I'll give him credit for helping fund such an important institution for science! Just... remind me to tell you about the Bone Wars later."

Ava giggled as she held the door to the museum open for Rivet.

"Hah! I doubt it, that'd be a whole... copyright thing, probably," she joked, before giving the Lombax a teasing smile.

"Guess you'll just have to cuddle with the real thing! I promise, I'm very warm."

Apparently, gushing about her passion made Ava bolder than usual.

Carol's stern gaze was like steel as she never once looked away from her daughter. Even while flipping through the pages of the documents and listening to her daughter's every word. She and Asriel went away to college and she couldn't assume she knew what those two had been up to since. But she could still see December's immaturity a mile away. Jumping into adoption--- did she even know what it meant to raise a child? She to thought she was ready, but how wrong she was. Then again she made her own share of foolish mistakes growing up to...

She leaned over on her hand as December was as impetuous and spontaneous as ever! She might be older but a part of her was still trying to prove herself to Carol. She could admire that spirit though she did eye those two cards curiously with a flick of her ear. Though her eyes drifted to her sword, with a slight smile amused as it was. It was no secret that she still trained herself! though these days it was more to keep herself health and...

"I know it's a lot of responsibility Mom, and yes actually I do have an apartment, an income, two infact, and a job as well" she said staying calm and collected under her mother's gaze. She wouldn't crack, she had all her facts.

"I know growing up I had a lot 'questionable' habits Mom, but I've changed Mom, really I have. I've been studying alot and seen more than ever that this child is someone who I could help. Angel's truth" she said placing her hand over heart. "However, maybe it would be better if I showed you just how serious I am Mom" she said standing up from the table and pulling out two blank and sealed Christmas Card envelopes. "I challenge you Mom, to a duel of swords and don't pretend you haven't taken down your old sword and been practicing with it Mom. You're not the only one who's had their eyes all over the place," she said pointing to the sword she knew was hanging on the wall without breaking eye contact.

"You're sword doesn't have spec dust, rust, or aging on it, but i see the handle wrapping are fresh, you're still drilling with it aren't you?" she said with confident smile. "Well I just so happen to be top of my kendo club and have the hardest hitter on the baseball team mother," she said placing two sealed envelopes down. One sealed with a Christmas Tree sticker and other....a church sticker? "Win this duel, and the two most important updates in my life, the bits of information I'm sure even you are missing, are all yours along with any explanation you desire, and all I want when I win," she said taking out a simple ball point pen with a Christmas tree bobble on it. "Is for you the one thing in that envelope" she said pointing to the envelope with church sticker on it. "So what do you say?"

The Wolf tilted her head at Vex as her tail swished absent mindedly as she was relaxing in the shade. She didn't get to enjoy these little outings with Vex as much as she use to, and she whisked the possum away when ever she could. She wasn't the kind of girl to enjoy parties or loud public places. But little escapes into the woods and camping with Vex--- it reminded her of how they met.

The question though didn't make her think Vex was weird. Considering how Dangerous life was on mobius it could be useful--- but her style wasn't meant to fight machines. It was designed to either disarm or kill other mobians and humans.

She blamed her strange childhood and a deep desire to learn more about Ava's passion! She enjoyed her time with Ava and if she could share that little deeper then why shouldn't she? Plus in truth she really did need a break from her failed attempts to fix the phase drive!

" Guess that makes sense, as an Engineer we have all sorts of tools for different jobs. I imagine its the same for most professions, though at least in your case the fossils don't explode in your face! "

She laughed softly and smiled up at the taller woman! She actually felt a little better knowing Ava's Job was relatively safe!

" Ah, so Marsh was the real brains, and Peabody took all the credit. Some things never change no matter how many light years you travel. Still! if its doing a good thing i suppose the name isn't to important! "

She crossed her arms and looked up at the building in front of her and had to admit it was impressive! From a visual stand point it was large, extravagant and stood out from the other buildings! Which she guessed was the point. Draw people in, let them experience history! and rob them at the gift shop! standard affair she guessed!

She was totally going to buy a plush at the gift shop! so she was part of the problem!

" So what are the chances i can get an Ava plush at the gift shop! "

She teased with a playful smile!

"It's okay, everyone makes mistakes!" And Ava certainly wasn't going to blame a literal alien for mistaking a movie for reality.

"But yeah, fossils are extremely fragile. We have special tools and techniques to properly look at them without causing damage. Modern technology, like spectroscopy, has made it even easier to do that, too. It can be a tough job, but it's always fun to me!"

Ava paused in front of the museum itself, presenting it with a flourish of her wing.

"Yep, George Peabody is the one who founded the museum! His nephew, Othniel Charles Marsh, was a paleontologist at the time who asked him to do it. Marsh was... definitely a chatacter."

Rivet has ZERO clues on how to flirt, or what even counts as flirting. She'll often flirt without even realizing that it counts as flirting. She grew up around the morts who as a hive mind that doesn't really flirt or know what it even means. She never went to a traditional school or had any real social interactions with those her age... so socially speaking she's rather inept!

So when someone else flirts with her or shows her affection she's either super flustered or, it flies over her head entirely!

That said... she really craves it! the idea at least... her time with her Ex Kaetra did help somewhat, but she's still learning what it means to be romantic!

Ear big ears perked up a little as she listened intently to Ava with keen interest. Both because she anted to know more about her, and because she genuinely found the information fascinating! So they dug up the bones, and preserved them for research. What was displayed was just a copy of the original. That made alot of sense, but also seemed like super delicate work, and probably a long and difficult process. She wondered how often a bone broke or fell apart during the process.

" Heh! Well in fairness i thought it was a documentary--- Funny for being as smart as i am. I still find myself coming to the wrong conclusions so often... Machines i get, but everything else? sometimes i feel like a lost cub ... But Prehistoric Planet! filing that in the back of my Lombax brain!"

She laughed softly at herself! She was brilliant, talented, and had skills many would train all there lives for and come up short! but common sense wasn't her strong suit!
