Hello, I came across Reverse when I was web surfing and played until I got to chapter 3. I saw the little message that chapter 3 wasn't done yet and I thought the plot was cool so I tried finding a dev blog of some sort. I found this Tumblr, and noticed that you guys last posted 3 years ago. What happened? Was the project discontinued?
Hello everyone! I checked out this blog, just out of curiosity as I was going about doing some spring cleaning on my now built desktop computer 5 years later with a bit more time now. To my surprise, there was people more interested in the goofy little incomplete game the four of us created.
I felt I owed a response to the people that checked out the blog.
For most of the design crew, life has caught up with us and free time is just not a luxury we had anymore as a collective. Creating and pursuing this project was a fun hobby, something to spend time together learning, designing, making and creating. As much as I love this project built together by us, realistically there was no long term story being told. However, this was something I didn't really mind at the time since this was a project between four goofy friends who wanted to post something a little bit silly on a small tiny white dell laptop. Plus ... I am a goofball and the code for this story is sitting on my tiny white dell laptop which blew, unfortunately, hence the upgrade to a desktop computer.
This brings me to my next statement which is obviously the story being told will be put on hiatus. This is something that ... I would like to finish with the same four goofy friends with a more improved computer perhaps?
I am sorry for disappointing those who might have been waiting for an update in regards to this game. This is just something that I don't want to finish without my goofballs.
However, my creative interests have been sparked again, but just this time it will be something I'll have to do on my own.

Adora + Augustus Sawyer || Concept Design and Social Image Design!

Hello Everyone! This will officially be my first post on the blog, in case you are wondering who this is, it’s Felix — the new graphic designer for Atelier — popping in to give an official greeting and thanks to my cuties for involving me in their hobby! (Also for allowing me to build up my portfolio aha).
So I had thought — actually scratch that it was Toro’s idea — to explain my thoughts when creating this concept idea of Augustus/Adora which looks a lot different than the rough draft that Onix and Toro had done beforehand.
It was a design choice of mine to keep our characters faceless, it was put this way for the interest of our audience since some people prefer their own mind of imagination rather than use another person’s lenses to look at the character but in a different way. Obviously, I could have added in the characteristics of the character, but just wanted to leave it since I didn’t want to mess it up but it’s also something that has become a habit for me to not add in features since my artwork prefers to be simplistic as possible. I had changed Augustus’s hairstyle because I just didn’t like the way it looked — sue me — and it just wasn’t doing what I had wanted to do. Adora’s design was based on my interpretation of her and obviously, everyone has their own opinion on what she can look like but I wanted her to look like an empowered female. I had chosen for both of them to have a similar color scheme to — not only make my life easier when designing them — but also show the similarities between them and the differences in their characteristics.
As I always say with any of my designs, I am not the greatest graphic designer and what I had come up with almost anyone with a tablet or a mouse and computer software can create, but I like it and the way I did it. However, anyone is welcomed to create their own version of the Sawyers and submit them to us or tag us in it!
Maybe when I have enough time, I’ll come back to this and revamping it again and maybe once more ... probably a lot.
I had also added below, our current profile picture — with our name plastered onto the design in case of anyone attempting to taking credit for our design — for you all to take a peak at.
Onto the next issue is the progress of our work? I suppose you can put it like that, we are within the reaches of the final process of editing the writing and then slowly adapting code into the chapter.
We are planning to do some major overhauls of some of the events within the storyline and need to do some slight additions, a few alterations and a bit of omitting certain details. However, we hope it shouldn’t affect to much on the overall chapters we have provided.

Hey ... So I noticed that you don’t write for non-binary, would it be possible for you guys to do that?
The reason we aren’t writing for non-binary is that we have no clue how to write in that perspective. It’s not that we don’t want to, it’s just very hard to find a way to put it properly and accurately without us making a mistake.
We want you guys as the audience to have a smooth experience with the storyline (which doesn’t happen most of the time but we are attempting to fix that) and we don’t want to, worse case scenario, offend someone for our mistakes.
So as of right now, we are not going to write that perspective, However, in the future there is a possibility that we will write for that perspective once we have a better understanding of it.

I'm playing as a gay male and noticed that at 75% relationship with Augustus that a few errors are happening, I got all three arm moments, Augustus not pulling away his arm,Augustus hesitantly pulling away his arm, and Augustus instantly pulling away his arm. I looked at the code and I should only be getting the last one, also I noticed that Leighton is described as a young man but she/her pronouns keep being used for him.
oh dear, we forgot we had only put the code that if the relationship value was above 50 but below 65, didnt think that someone would get the 75% value whoops ... we’ll get right on that.
Also so very sorry about Leighton still using the she/her pronouns must have left it like that as I was writing and forgot to place in the variables for their pronouns, awkward.
Thanks for reporting on it tho! Highly appreciate it.

Regarding Movement —
Seeing as Onix, Felix and I want to move all of the content onto the new dashingdon account called; @atelier. We know that the game will be bumped to the top of the list and have no content for you guys, which is something that we have considered as a big no-no for us. So, what we decided to do instead is to finish and upload the complete chapter 3, as well as move everything to the new account all in one go and delete the previous game off Onix’s other account. This way there will be at least new content for you guys to read and play, while we also finish moving all of our work and don’t be at risk of copyrights of intellectual property.

Current Progress of Chapter 3 | 27/02/2019
Hi Guys!
Just wanted to give a bit of an update on the progress of chapter 3 and the tidbits of the game.
Currently, Chapter 3 is 1867 words / 5000 words. Which means we have barely scraped the surface of the chapter, we are going to use this chapter to expand on relationships and world lore, whilst introducing new characters into the story.
We have found a lovely feature that lets us do testing of each chapter because we were idiots for not noticing it at first, the randomtest and quicktest feature!!!
Honestly, just made our life a whole lot easier. We also wanted to introduce our new graphic designer for ‘Reverse; Memories’, Felix~!
It’s great to have Felix on the team, frankly, we were using other people’s intellectual property for our dash pic and stat menu graphic, so we were a little worried about that. Felix has been so lovely enough to supply us with a new logo in time for this update!
So, currently, Atelier (which is what we call ourself) has three people within the department! Onix the writer and story developer, Felix the graphic designers and I (Toro) in charge of coding.
She says that she will start working on the graphic for characters within the world lore section and start on creating little misc. details.
Onto another note, We would like to say that we have completely edited the basic writing and code for the Prologue, Chapter 1 & 2!
We will slowly start to incorporate the more advanced code slowly into the chapters.
Another thing, I had wanted to add is that we plan to move everything to another account since ... we can’t change the dash pic, whoops. Whilst we move on, if you happen to see our game at the top of dashington, please do not be alarmed we are just moving everything to the new account called; @Atelier
Oh, looks like it does not look very high-quality oops. Well, You will get the idea anyway, this is what Felix has created for us to use, which is so very lovely to look at.

that is not meant to be happening … sigh
don’t understand why it would do such a thing, i’m just so shook atm, because the problem with the line is that there’s supposed to be no problem.
IT IS NOT MEANT TO HAPPEN AT ALL! I ASSURE YOU.
i am actually looking at the code right now for the line 235 WHICH IS JUST A BLANK SPACE!?

I keep on getting this error when trying to proceed in chapter 2. The game gets stuck after you look around the room.
It’s a really great game though. I can tell it’ll be really immersive and I’m already smitten with Augustus :D

when will the story be updated? i like how it’s going so far and the steamy scene with my male MC and Augustus was really hot, i’d love to see more ;)
Hey! Glad you enjoyed it!! We are hoping to get another chapter out soon hopefully, don’t want to put an exact date since we want this chapter to be as smooth as possible unlike the mess with Chapter 2 in the beginning (which we apologise for once again) but we are also hoping to push some more world lore into Chapter 3, get some key features and hopefully introduce another set of characters relating to the MC ...
I hope Onix and I will be able to meet the expectations of Chapter 3.

Thank You + Future Plans
Thanks to all the people complimenting the game, my goodness, it just makes me smile a lot ...
Regarding Chapter 2, We will be trying to fix as much errors as possible that is restricting our readers from going forward whilst we are also clearing up any errors from Chapter 1 and the Prologue.
I am also trying to add in stats, slowly within the chapters that have already been uploaded while Onix is currently writing and planning out Chapter 3 and Chapter 4!
Hopefully, this will get done altogether by the next two months — which seems like a very long time, but we want to try and deliver good content (as much as we can even offer) without skimping on details.
We also had some questions to our current audience, How many Romance Options does our audience want and should we keep the option of having a male or female RO going? Currently, Onix and I thought that we should have five RO which seemed like an okay number to us but it could be a lot for you all, So we were considering to shorten the number down to three RO!
Another question we had is about having a rich worldlore, Onix wanted to have a lot of detail about how the world of reverse works but she thinks that it would be too boring for the readers to read about and so we thought of using the worldlore as keys to unlocking choices in the story, However, this could delay the writing and coding a little more.
Honestly, we just want thoughts on the layout of the game and any constructive criticism is welcomed!

So, I want to apologise about the bugs within chapter 2 and I am currently trialing the issues found within them, but they are just little mistakes within the game. Hopefully, it will not be complicated and I wish to apologise once more.
Currently, I have found only one issue and I assure you this was not the end of the chapter if you had received this error.

FIXED CURRENT ISSUES REGARDING CHAPTER 2
Hello Everyone!!! So, this is regarding Chapter 2 and we (Onix and I) are so incredibly sorry about the bad code within Chapter 2 and have hurriedly tried to fix it up as quickly as we could, We have officially updated the story arc with the fixed version of Chapter 2!
So, if you had any issues with the game too and had found yourself stuck halfway, I assure you that was NOT the end of the game.

I really like the premise of this! I did catch errors with either choice after getting dressed, though. Is that supposed to be the end of the demo?
Alright, so I’ve looked into the issue which was just horrible and horrible code done by Onix (Who says she is so sorry too), She has introduced a line of code that wasn’t meant to be placed there and didn’t create a variable for it … I assure you, That is not the end of the demo rather that is just halfway done and we both are so sorry for the inconvenience it has brought! I am currently fixing it up and will try to improve the code to be a lot more smoother hopefully.
