thoughts on memoir of rati [episode 1]

memoir of rati... honestly, i think it's so refreshing to see a character being so in love with the other character from the start. i think they did the 'love at first sight' so wonderfully well. the infatuation thee harbours for rati is evident, somewhat consuming, but still so gentle and fulfilling. it feels more like thee's affection for rati is deeply rooted in admiration. i think this element of 'falling in love at first sight' contributes to the magical feeling i experience while watching the first episode, which is such a pleasant change from some of the dramas i watched prior. there are so many scenes that made my heart flutter... and my cheeks hurt from all the grinning 🤭

but if i can comment on this one aspect, I feel like the storytelling, in terms of the flow, continuity and fluidity from one scene to the other, it feels a bit choppy? i don't know if it's the editing or something else, but some scenes don't intersect well with one another, especially the night when thee and rati met—i was a bit confused because on the other side, mek was doing his job, and dech was fighting in the ring... it felt a bit jarring to me? and the scenes felt a bit overstretched at some points? i couldn't help but look at the time and wonder when we will move to the next part (i'm sorry for saying this 😞)

also, i love the bgms, but i feel like it's a bit too heavy on the music? i mean, it's good... i don't want to say they're overusing it, but I hope for the future episodes, they'll use the scores more sparingly? because I feel like some scenes should make use of silence to convey the emotion and allow the dialogues to seep through and linger between the characters (thus allowing us, the viewers, to comprehend them).

but i do realise this is only the beginning, and I believe the upcoming episodes will be better once more characters are introduced. they're already laying out the conflicts, and I absolutely love it. i can't wait to see how everything will unfold.

this is my first time watching greatinn and i'm honestly so blown away by p'great's acting. i think he perfectly embodied the soft gentleman theerathorn is. i'm excited to see more of rati because at this point, I still couldn't grasp his character, but what I can say is p'inn as rati... rati is so beautiful. no wonder khun thee fell for him instantly 🤭

i'm also very excited for aouboom! aou my beloved! i mean, give aou any role, and he'll definitely nail it to the t. and i'm so thrilled to witness the chemistry and dynamic between aouboom. i think I'll be very invested in their storyline as well 🙈

overall, i thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. i think it was a decent start, and I can't wait to see more of theerati and mekdech uwu. //i still couldn't stop grinning like an idiot hehe. i can't imagine what I'll become during mek and dech's first meeting! 😙

a bit of a life update (sorry for this random post): my candidature defence was on the 12th of june! honestly, the feedback was better than I expected... i seriously thought it would go downhill... but the panels were quite ok with my research. (I still have to make amendments though), but overall, it was ok 😭 I think the bolder on my shoulders has now disappeared.....
