*crying because people are so stupid* literally all Asha's grandpa wanted was to learn how to play the guitar

Literally!!!! Sabino wanted to inspire people but Magnifico is so afraid of losing control that he labels the wish as "bad" because it's so vague - and yet it's not vague???? Like look at it, Sabino's playing a lute surrounded by a crowd, they're smiling and enjoying his music. It's serene and peaceful. It's not angry, not stirring up an angry mob or anything like Magnifico tries to spin it.

Wait a minute - oh no! Sabino turned around to talk to people!!!! Can't have an old musician talking to the folks who were just happily listening to him!!!!!!! Note: still no angry faces... nothing but calm smiles.

And somehow people walked away from this movie taking Magnifico's side, bc "oh he's just traumatized!!!!" Like sure, he is, I won't argue that and I actually find it a fairly compelling backstory, but that is making him hurt everyone else by setting up and maintaining a system that convinces people to literally give him a piece of their very being, as Asha says "the most beautiful part of themselves," and live incomplete lives unless Magnifico himself decides their wish is benign enough to give it back under the pretense of "granting it."

(And honestly I don't even think he grants them? He just gave Sania the dressmaker some ribbons and shears. We never see him actually "grant" anyone else's wish aside from Simon, which gave him armor and basically mind-controlled him.)

Not to mention so many other wishes that are basically harmless. A lady wants to fly. Another woman wants to sail. A guy wants to climb a mountain and find new lands. Why weren't any of their wishes granted???? (My theory is because flying, sailing, and discovering could/would lead to them leaving Rosas... and once again, Magnifico can't stand losing even the slightest tenet of power.)

Also kind of funny how when Asha holds the wish, Sabino faces her and smiles happily as he plays, while when Magnifico holds the wish, Sabino turns his back on him to talk to the others. Like wish-vision!Sabino knows who he'll show off for and who he won't lmao.

I know people have many opinions about Bix and Cassian having a baby at the very end. While I did think it was unnecessary, I have made peace with it. But Bix doesn’t tarnish the Jyn x Cassian ship for me, especially since Cassian came to terms with the fact that he'd most likely never see Bix again and him reaching out was gonna be a hard maybe.

So, here's my idea.

An au one shot where Jyn and Cassian survive. After a while of being together, (because it is romantic), Jyn gets Cassian to open up more about his past, and he reluctantly tells her about Bix. While feeling a little insecure about her, Jyn convinces Cassian to find Bix. They both go to meet Bix for the first time in a long time and meet Cassian's son for the first time. Bix and Cassian get closure, Cassian bonds with his son, and Bix and Jyn become friends. They all become a nice blended family and co-parent the child together.

I'd love to write it myself, but I don't read sci-fi and as much as I love star wars, I'm not the most well-versed to confidently write fanfiction about this. So, if you're willing, I ask you to please write this idea, or send any stories like this my way. This will be most appreciated and thank you for your cooperation 😁😁
