jayce is having absolutely the worst ptsd flashbacks of his entire life. like unbelievably bad. meanwhile viktor explores the cave and drinks the water and looks at all the cool pews and stuff and searches for a way out and all that productive adventure game stuff

eventually when they get out jayce is absolutely floored and vexed by viktor suddenly deciding they’re no longer on the verge of divorce, and btw babe did i tell you about the cool religious artifacts i found down there? look at this idk why it’s glowing purple but isn’t it cool

btw the BEST theoretical trio in arcane is jayce viktor & ekko. consider.

- if they all teamed up, zaun would have clean air and water and robust infrastructure within 5 months tops

love the idea of the commune sharing viktor’s emotions even outside of the whole. getting shot thing

like viktor stubs his toe, the entire cavern rings out in a chorus of “OW FUCK”, sky tells a good joke, now farmers are laughing uproariously at their crops, someone comes to be healed of hextech-weaponry wounds and for the next three days various cult members say things like “the best revenge is a better life” and “i was too good for him anyway” and “i could fix him… no. girl, stand up.” and all the non-culted visitors (jinx & co) are VERY confused

its so wild to me how underpoliticized jayvik is in fancontent, especially considering how incredibly political their league roots are

like. arcane set up two character arcs about assimilating into oppressive cultures, living with disability and trying to change the nature of life & death, and working to change the world and help the downtrodden only to be stopped by capitalism every step of the way and then forced to confront the fact that your efforts did more harm than good, and fans have NOT DONE ENOUGH to make these characters leftists. nuh uh. not on my watch.

its very important to me in ANY vikjayce fanwork that the entire academy knows they're dating before they do

jayce was assumed gay within his first month because any time a woman would try talking to him he'd be impolite and wouldn't understand or cooperate with the typical flirting maneuvers, and also just look at the way he stands

viktor was confirmed gay within his first week when he was shocked to find out that pilties were NOT cool with the mankissing thing

this led to a good bit of gossip when they started sharing a lab and absolutely no surprise when they started calling eachother 'partner'. eventually it also led to an academy-wide betting pool (with even professors getting in on the action) on when they would break up

i'll never understand why jayce x vander got a big popularity boost before jayce x silco, because like, i like hammerhound as much as the next guy but i feel like jayco is such a funny ship to conceptualize

like jayce would go to negotiations with silco thinking "hm, yes, the chembaron silco, i consider him a major political rival, and i detest all that he's done with the shimmer factories, but i still must respect his skill as a social engineer and businessman. as much as he fights against piltovan ideals, he has an incredible dedication to progress for the undercity that i find admirable."

and silco goes to negotiations betting sevika 5$ that if he wears the very fitted suit, jayce will come out as bisexual within 2 weeks

absolutely criminal to me how jayvik fans never use league skins as inspo for their fics/fanart because it is a GOLDMINE over there.

love the idea of arcane jayvik with league vikjayce as like, their superhero/supervillain alter egos but. very poorly executed

like ah yes this is the machine herald, the terrifying villain that plagues piltover and zaun, constantly attacking chembarons and industry leaders with his swarm of augmented chempunks and brilliantly engineered automatons wreaking havoc on every establishment that he considers a roadblock in zaun’s glorious evolution. he’s terrifying to look at, his steel skin-like armour and third arm mask his humanity almost as well as his actual mask, a glowering shield that only ever reveals his short brown hair and yellow eyes.

this is his rival and totally not boyfriend, the defender of tomorrow. he's a big man who uses magical runes and hexcrystals to do superheroing. he also wields a big hammer. wonder who that might be.

arcane should've been longer because if you replaced every montage to (admittedly very good) pop music with like, ten minute scenes actually going through the characters development and decisions, season 2 would go from a 4/10 to a solid 6/10.

for example, this fucking travesty of a scene

this scene hurts me so so much, not just because i love my darling jayce and this is an entirely unexplained decision that seems to just happen because it needs to happen for other characters' arcs, but because it's the easiest writing fix i could've possibly imagined.

it's literally so simple. here's the fix: write one single scene of caitlyn comforting jayce after the terrorist attack and convincing him to make hextech weapons.

this hypothetical scene could do SO MUCH for the show.

if this happened, it would reiterate how much jayce is willing to do for the people he loves and would act as dramatic irony for his relationship with viktor, because it's that exact dogged determination that constantly tears him away from viktor (when this trait is in service of mel, for example) and brings them together in the end of it all. if we were shown how jayce betrayed viktor specifically because his beloved, well intentioned, suffering sister asked him to, it would also make his "I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS" moment resonate a lot more.

additionally, it would feed into caitlyn's arc incredibly well, since it would act as foreshadowing/a precursor to her becoming a wolf under ambessa's guidance, and would show how she's both becoming more of a politician and would mirror her to mel (manipulating jayce despite genuine love for him and good intentions in what she's doing) in a way that could add an interesting mother-daughter tinge to her relationship with ambessa (and this could be mirrored to the silco-jinx relationship, since i know fortice lovessss its visual parallels). and on top of that, for an extra fun touch they could make note of how she'd be asking this of jayce despite his clear injury, and try and use that (non-typical for cait) lack of care/empathy to make her sudden shift to hurting vi make more sense.

do you see why the lost potential here hurts so much?

literally, the rest of the show doesn't need to be changed to support this proposal, the entire season could play out in all its centrist character assassinating glory and changing this scene from a cool marvel movie style 'whoa-these-characters-have-joined-a-team-and-gotten-cool-weapons' scene into an actual interaction between characters with arcs & would do nothing but help it. and yet we get a fucking montage.

hate when people act like jayce giopara is just "jerk jayce" or "jayce talis if he was an asshole", because jayce giopara is literally just a low-empathy autistic guy who’s never struggled ever. like his bio looks you in your face and says that!!!!!

he struggled ONE TIME and immediately thought “oh my god i should be a nicer person and apologize to my ex” and you people are SO MEAN to this man. for shame.
