i love starscream he’s such a weird little man.

his defining feature is that he hates megatron. he’s a combo of complete confidence with utter incompetence. he used to be a scientist. he can’t die, but he also gets killed all the time. he thinks he’s the most handsome decepticon. a whole bunch of characters who are not even related to him look exactly like him. his best insults include “floptimus prime” and “auto-butt”. his mom tried to steal his body to perform mass-genocide. he has canonically committed tax evasion. he has a deep-rooted rivalry with rainbow dash. he thinks klingon is such a pretty language that he actually took time to properly learn it before making contact. he can fire missiles from where his boobs would be. he has a cat named “meowgatron”, despite hating megatron. he has a model of himself in his bedroom.

Listen, "I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE" by Måneskin is such a good Deadlock/Drift song, like Deadlock on the edge of his redemption arc, like Drift/Deadlock struggling and feeling conflicted with these two diametrically opposed aspects of his personality while also desiring that redemption of his self

I have a lil Watsonian explanation/headcannon of mine as to why he never uses his blasters.

So when you discharge a weapon there's typically residue left behind, like how guns have firearm discharge residue which gets all over your hands and clothes after firing.

Now these discharge particles are typically unoticable to the human naked eye but I bet that Cybertronian blasters & canons not only leave behind residue but probably singe or interact strangely with a mechs paint job.

It's probably only a minute blemish that no one else really cares about but Knock Out being an aesthete & a medic has an eye for detail so it probably drives him up the wall.

So Knock Out doesn't like firearms but prefers more mele weaponry, like the saw & the energon prod, due to the fact that using them is less likely to cause passive damage to his finish than using blasters.

But why didn't he use them in "Thirst" when it was a matter of literal life and death, you ask.

Because if Knock Out is going to die he might as well look pretty.

İ found this little thing a while ago. Looks like knockout does have a blaster on his sleeves but for some reason he never thought about using it during the plague on Nemesis? Bruh

Yeah everyone is like Knockout has blasters?? But he never uses them?? (I think the writers just forgot.) Knockout doesn't seem to be good at shooting things but like when it came to the plague, his role was to be the stereotypical girl screaming in a horror movie. Knockout panicked and went to his go-to saw? Idk how scared to you have to be before Starscream takes over to protect you XD

I just added Coldplay's "Yellow" to my KOBD playlist bc I can't stop imagining it being sung from Knock Out's perspective cuz Breakdown's eyes are yellow.

But then I just hurt myself & made it angsty by changing the lyric "Your skin and bones / Turn in to something beautiful" and instead hearing "You're skin and bones / Turned in to something beautiful"

And now all I can think about is it being from Knock Out's perspective after Breakdown death.

The Thirteen Prime Zodiac : Prima - The Judge

Prima - The Judge 

Prima is said to have been the first of The Thirteen Primes to be created by Primus in his crusade against the forces of Unicron. According to legend it is she who led her siblings in the charge against the Titan of Entropy with her legendary blade, Star-saber, held high. She is also accredited with commissioning her sister, Solus Prime, with the creation of the Primal Matrix, also known as the Matrix of Leadership. It is believed that she created the Matrix as a way to ensure that Cybertron would forever be guarded by a Prime and that any who received the title of Prime and the responsibilities of the Primacy may be able to draw upon the wisdom and strength of past Primes through it.

Prima has been described as being a great leader to the Thirteen Primes and to early Cybertron, she was just and fair. Appropriately the constellation of The Judge reflects this depiction.

The constellation of The Judge is made up of about 10 different stars that are visible to the average Cybertronian optic unaided. The constellation depicts an image of a balanced set of scales with one scale containing a single star. This single star is believed to represent the spark of Prima being weighed against the pressures of the Universe.

Diplomatic / Shapeshifter

Those sparked under the sign of The Judge are believed to possess an innate ability for diplomacy, able to deal with individuals in an efficient and tactful manner. In order to achieve this goal, they are able to think quickly on their feet and wear many different ‘hats’. It seems as though no matter how dire the situation may seem that this Cybertronian is able swiftly and skillfully salvage it. Those sparked under the sign of The Judge are able to achieve results no matter how hopeless the situation, so it may be beneficial to have them close at servo.  They are highly adaptable and able to fit in any time, place, and with anyone. Sparks under this sign actively attempt to make sure that everything goes smoothly, and/or according to plan. They detest chaos, disorder, conflict, and mess of any kind and may become distressed if they are unable to or are prevented from remedying the situation.

Much of The Judge’s energy goes towards cultivating an environment in which all goes smoothly, this may mean that they devote quite a bit of processing power towards the wants, feelings, and emotions of those that surround them and then bend themselves to best suit the situation. This ability to shapeshift themselves into whatever they need to be is extremely beneficial towards their skill in diplomacy but can be viewed as a double-edged sword. Often times those sparked under this sign may lose sight of who they truly are, unable to distinguish between their many guises and masks and their true beliefs and feelings. Those who may be friends with The Judge may express the way in which they are exactly the person they need but be hard-pressed when asked if they truly know The Judge’s values and opinions outside of their relationship.

Good Listener / Gossip

Those sparked under the sign of The Judge have a natural affinity to the collection and the absorption of information of any kind. They are exceptionally observant and are very good listeners. The Judge will sit and listen to anything that one may need to get off their chest. They are exceptional shoulders to cry on. They also have an incredible ability to the retention of information. One may mention something offhandedly to The Judge and a millennia later will find that they still remember. This can be useful and endearing to those who are friends with The Judge but something that weighs heavy upon the minds of The Judge’s enemies. The Judge is seldom to forget any information that you give them, sometimes it appears as though even the most insignificant information is recorded to their long-term memory.

For a sign that is so opposed to conflict and drama, they tend to have an inner conflict in that they are renowned gossips. If the easiest way to impress or allow the situation to continue on smoothly without a hitch is to drop a bit of gossip then The Judge will do it and do damage control later on. So whilst exceptional listeners this does not necessarily guarantee that your secrets will remain secret once The Judge’s processor notes it down.

Strives for Justice / Biased

The Judge consistently strives for fairness and justice in all that they do, it’s part of their innate desire to avoid conflict. They also adore when rules are present, whether that be the law, etiquette or rules on social decorum. They feel most comfortable when there is a set of rules to aid in the desired direction of a situation. They will use their sharp mind to know any such set of rules front to back and thus use these rules to aid in determining the correct course actions, organising between right and wrong.

Despite The Judge’s desire to strive for justice in all that they do there is something within their processor that makes them incredibly biased towards themselves. If there is a chance to ensure that things work out in their favour, whether that be personal favour or on their behalf, then The Judge will go out of their way to achieve that outcome regardless of whether or not that is the fairest or most just outcome. They may use their diplomatic skill to explain away the injustice and essentially gaslight one into believing that it is the fairest outcome for all, the naïve may believe - the sharper of mind may not. While this may be advantageous if The Judge is on your side one should always be cautious of whether or not The Judge may use such skill on you.

Idealist / Indecisive

The Judge strives for the ideal in all that they do. They wish for the best experience possible and are sure in the fact that they may be able to achieve this ideal through careful consideration, logic and rationale. They believe that with enough thought on a matter or decision that they will be able to figure out the perfect outcome. This belief that the ideal can always be made possible with enough prior planning and consideration is oftentimes held towards minor and major issues and situations alike. Whether it be choosing which Energon house to visit or deciding in an otherwise lose-lose situation.

This need to achieve the ideal outcome in every situation can oftentimes lead those sparked under The Judge to overthink and be indecisive. This indecisiveness emerges most often in situations that The Judge finds themselves wrongfooted and without protocol to follow or another to mirror. This inability to choose for fear of a subpar experience or a failure, this pedantic behaviour, is often where The Judge’s relationships begin to become strained.

Aesthete / Shallow

Those under the sign of The Judge have a great appreciation for beauty, this beauty may manifest in various different ways but rest assured, it is deeply cherished by The Judge. It may be in the simple beauty of the cityscape, the fragile beauty of small pieces of art, in the shine of a mechs finish, if they see the beauty then it is beautiful. In the eyes of The Judge if they believe that it’s beautiful then objectively it must be beautiful.

This appreciation for beauty can also manifest itself in The Judge being extremely shallow and only taking things at face value. If there is no beauty to be found then they may see it as not being worth their attention. If being given a choice between a gilded cube of Energon and an old dusty cube of high grade they’ll choose the gilded cube every time.

In Embers Maccadam has a Howl's Moving Castle situation with his bar.

He has various bars and personas all over Cybertron so he can really keep an eye on things. He can go between them using some form of groundbridge technology.

Alpha Trion thinks that it's all too tedious and complicated to keep up so many identities at once.

Maccadam thinks Alpha Trion is lacking in creativity and imagination.

And he really doesn't think Alpha should be one to talk when it comes to creating and maintaining identities since Alpha's idea of a new identity is to just slap a new name on after 'Alpha'.

The Thirteen Prime Zodiac

In my Embers-verse Cybertron has a pretty long history, which I'm still fleshing out, a part of that is a zodiac based on the Thirteen Primes!

By the time that the Cybertronian Autobot-Decepticon War, a.k.a. The Great War, occurs the Thirteen Primes & anything associated with them are largely considered to be myth & legend.

The Thirteen Zodiac is considered to be archaic & is largely disregarded, though there are certain groups who still pay it mind. Amongst these interested groups are scholars, the religious, mystic enthusiasts, & fans of the legends of The Thirteen.

It was once believed that a newspark’s personality and fate could be predicted through the star sign they had been born under. The star signs are as follows:

Prima - The Judge

It should be noted that the traits associated with each sign do not necessarily correlate with the personalities of their namesakes or that of those sparked under these signs. It’s astrology, not science.

I've always had a little trouble differentiating between Rumble and Frenzy so I went to look up which one is red and which one is blue and found the RIRFIB vs RIBFIR discourse and now I'm losing my mind.

Listen, I have this vivid picture in my mind of Starscream plunging his hands elbows deep in a pool of life energon & pulling out his crown and the putting it on with this crazed look in his eyes as the energon runs in rivulets down his face & arms, while he sits on a throne of surrounded by the bodies of Decepticon & Autobot alike.

It's just a really strong mental image.
