Return to form! Did the 9 mile #lakechabot #loop #yesterday with @__justkral__ took about three hours I was actually kind of surprised how many people who’s paths we crossed twice along the journey. We even got to see the #baldeagles that recently made a nest and had a chick also got to learn some more about how #Chinese #immigrants helped build the dam. It was so nice to get out of the apt for the day, take in some nature and get some good exercise. #currentlyspinning #johnfahey #guitarsoli #americanprimative I first heard John Fahey’s “Dance of Death” on the Zabriskie Point soundtrack and could not believe my ears. I had listened to a lot of the early blues guys he was inspired by but his approach to those tunes was wholly his own. Years later I’d watch his instructional videos and was then first inspired to start playing in various open tunings which is what I still mainly play today. Wish I could’ve got a chance to see him live-at least there’s pretty damn good early live footage out there.
