LET’S GO!!!!

Hiya Tumblr Portwell friends! Did you miss me?

I'm working on a couple different projects right now, but this one is moving a little faster, so I decided to start posting in hopes of keeping the momentum going! (I am also working on the Cowboy Like Me AU, but I need to do some more research for that one.)

So, here it is, the Portwell Princess Diaries AU that no one asked for, but I'm going to write anyway!

On her 18th birthday, Gina Porter wasn't wishing for much. Maybe a cupcake with her friends, or flowers from her boyfriend (however unlikely that might be). The only wish she's ever really had, for her dad to still be alive, was obvously never going to come true.

But her world is turned upside down when a mysterious man with a strange European accent appears at her door with a letter and the surprise of a lifetime: Gina is actually a Princess of Portania, a small country in the Alps, a fact that her parents have concealed her entire life.

Now that she's an adult, it's up to her to decide if she wants to be a Princess, or if she'll give up her royal title like her father before her. Swept into a new world of opulance and complications, she has the help her cousin Ashlyn, the heir apparent to the Portania throne, and the handsome son of the King's most trusted royal advisor to teach her the ways of royal life. Will Gina find that in the end, she's princess material?

Ok my brain is doing its overthinking like a champ thang…after yesterday’s chapter I’m wondering if we pick up at the hotel, he can tell she’s not into it (or not into it for the right reasons) because he knows her, he knows them, he knows their chemistry so he can easily sense when something’s off, he stops her from going through with it, he’s upset with her that she can’t seem to lean on him, believe he’s really in it with her for the long run, she keeps pushing him away, and maybe needs some time to think or something along those lines?

In a nutshell I fully expect to go into this weekend heavy/broken hearted lol but in the best way of “damn I’m so invested in this incredible story and I know it’s just gonna make the payoff even better!” way…

Girl. Why is everything you create, even stuff you’re like “hate this trope but let’s give it a shot”, SO. EFFING. GOOD?

I won't post daily chapter updates here like the last story, but look, I did in fact get back on schedule!

The morning after is always a little awkward, especially when EJ seems more bothered by her reiterating it's a one night thing than Gina expected.

2. Evil Pudding Stealing Dragon is EVERYTHING.

Last night I had a strange dream that's a combination of @aroundthewaygirlao3's Portwell stories "It Starts (Again) with Us" and "A Second Chance is All" but it's Teacher!EJ/Single Mom!Gina AU

Basically EJ is a preschool teacher for a few years now. ASCIA students (Jake, Sierra, Lucy, Connor) are aged down and his students here. His kids all adore him and he's their human jungle gym.

Amaya is his new student here, and gets along with her new classmates. EJ didn't take long to figure out Amaya is Gina's kid since they look so much alike. Cues surprise reunion when Gina fetches her daughter from school.

Gina is a single parent here. I believe Ricky/Gina are either divorced or in a complicated Co-parenting arrangement in my dream. Ricky does visit Amaya from time to time. He is a good parent tho, but he's definitely the "Fun" parent to Gina's "Responsible" (think Kurt and Carrey Martin from Suite Life of Zack and Cody)

I forgot what happens next because my alarm woke me up, but it's such a cute/sweet dream.

Also: the preschoolers were playing pretend at some point. It was Ricky's turn to pick up Amaya for some father-daughter bonding time. The classmates all saw Ricky and declared he's the 'Evil Pudding Stealing Dragon' on sight. One of em (either Jake or Sierra) decked twigs in his direction.

I’m always so sad to see these stories end…I could honestly read so much more, following them through all of their life together, every time.

And here it is, the time jump epilogue we've all been waiting for. (At least I have!)

THANK YOU for the love you've shown this story. I've gotten a few requests for sequels/one shots, and I'd love to explore a little bit more in this version of events. Send any requests my way!

I'm not quite there yet on my next AU, so it'll be a bit before anything more substantial comes out. But I'm hoping I'll still be popping in with short pieces here and there.

I am also participating in NaNoWriMo again this year, and am excited about a completely original fiction project that is a little bit Madlyn/Portwell inspired, a paranormal romance that features characters with a bit of EJ and Gina in them as ghosts. ;-) If anyone wants to beta that one when it's finished, let me know!

I know I tell her this for pretty much every story but I really truly super duper do not want to see this one end. Maybe it’s because of how the show itself did us so wrong, and did PW so wrong (all that potential!) but it feels like there is so so much story left to tell with these two, and I want to see ALL of it!

Late again today (and probably might be all week, sorry. It's wild over here). But here's today's! I think we'll wrap this one up by the end of the week, and I'm already sad about it!

Back at it with my version of how, post-S4 canon, EJ and Gina reunite as adults, when they're ready for their second chance.

EJ is starting his third year of teaching with some bad news: The funding for the film club and a cappella group that he runs has been slashed by the San Diego Unified school board, and he's got to figure out how to keep his kids' dreams alive. With Ashlyn's help, he devises a plan to save their program. Which involves as assist from some famous faces... including Gina.

A few hours north in Hollywood, Gina's about to be canceled after a series of on-set events and a tell-all interview paint her as a difficult diva. She needs to get out of LA and away from the glare of the paparazzi and gossip sites. When Ashlyn reaches out saying EJ needs her help, she finds herself on the road to San Diego searching for a redemption arc, and on a collision course with her past.

As they work with EJ's next generation Wildcats to make magic happen, old feelings resurface and old wounds get reopened. Can they set all that aside to help the kids? Or will the things that broke them apart the first time end up being the ones that put them back together for good?

Happy birthday!!!!

It's my birthday today, so I decided to put this out in the world as a Happy Birthday to myself!

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for prompts/ideas for one shots/expansions of the In White Houses story. @rkrispyt came through, as she always does, with the gorgeous thought of "what if EJ noticed something about Gina that no one else does, like a birthmark or something?" And that because this little snippet of a one shot, set between Chapters 23 & 24.

EJ wakes up early every morning. But he really doesn't mind, not when it lets him spend a few minutes tracing the stars across Gina's back and wishing on them for the future.

Welp, color me way off my game! I thought for SURE we were heading towards Dani making a play for EJ in a really calculated, dirty way, but it would seem no cause she just asked for a rule that would prevent that!
