What was this infamous 1D day like exactly? I've never experienced it

literally a mess it was like watching a trainwreck no one had a clue what they were doing or why they were there but we were all trapped in this weird spacetime continuum with no escape or bathroom breaks for eight hours they brought in wal-mart one direction for no apparent reason niall dyed his hair purple harry almost brained himself and was deeply offended by some small child saying he didn’t like his clothes there was about an hour’s worth of technical difficulties and louis was approximately .2 seconds away from losing his shit at all times liam and zayn tried to break a world record for number of balloons popped with your ass in what amounted to a weirdly erotic scene jerry springer was there?? and harry and louis serenaded each other during little things during which i’m like 97.8% sure i had an out-of-body experience and i’m still not sure how no one died but anyway it’s all on youtube if you ever have 7+ hours to spare

OK so in my opinion good years is about 1d and the time zayn spent with them, and its esp obvious with lines such as “nothing in the world could bring us down, now we’re so high among the stars without a worry”

and then when he fucking says “too much drugs and alcohol, what the hell were we fighting for, cuz now the whole damn world will know” you start to see the frustration that built in that falling out when zayn left???? and the sheer angst that came with that and the tension between them??

and then he fucking says “neither one, one of us wants to say we’re sorry” and you CANT get more fucking obvious than that. zayn fucking MISSES THEM but theyre all so fucking stubborn (sidenote: i believe hes met up w all of them except harry and rmr when in ftdt harry said “even my phone misses your call” “why wont you ever be the first one to break”???? this is zayns fucking response!!!!!!!! theyre both so STUBBORN THEYRE SO PETTY THEYRE SO MAD BECAUSE THATS HOW MUCH THEY LOVED EACH OTHER) 

and when zayn says “i’d rather be anywhere but here” here is this fCUKIGN SITUATION he wants to get out of this media intensified hate relationship with all of the boys bc first and fuckign foremost, regardless of anythng else they were his BEST FRIENDS

and so good years basically just zayns fucking plea, its his spaces, its is deepest with that he didnt “waste all [his] good years” that the time they spent together wasnt for nothing, that they wont be left apart like this forever im so FUCKING UPSET

My take on Net Neutrality as a historian...

Net Neutrality is extremely important to many of us, from artists to teachers to everyday people.

We have seen over and over again that it is NOT good when a country wants to limit the information its citizens have access to. The small amount of limiting now can lead to a downhill spiral of censoring nearly everything unless it portrays a certain view. Often a view that, as far as I have seen, most Tumblr users do not agree with.

Think about how many people just fall for misinformation on facebook! They don’t give a shit what the source is as long as it backs up their beliefs! People of all ages have gotten used to just taking anything at face value and thinking it is the truth!

We are living in a day and age where people do not inform themselves, but rather sit around and wait for someone else to stand up for them! I will be honest I am guilty of this too, but as a student of history and a very concerned citizen of the United States of America I must wake up and not let things just happen to me! I must have an active voice in my future and the legislation that will and do affect me!

If we are not informed to the best of our ability we are liable to follow a narrow-minded rhetoric from anyone we, or those around us, perceive to be an authority.

For the love of all that is good! DO NOT just think that someone else will protect Net Neutrality for you! 

When everyone else turns a blind eye to the issue, remember there will not be a way to do something later. You have to act in your own interest NOW!

If you think you are safe because you live in Canada you are not! This also affects you too!

Please spread information about saving and protecting Net Neutrality as much as you can wherever you can!

Remember you have to act in favor of your own interests! Assume no one else will!

i don’t know if it’s the same for anyone else, but liam was a massive part of why OTRA was so important to me. he went out there every single night and killed it. he read signs. he interacted with fans. he interacted with parents. he danced. he played off his bandmates. he stepped up to the plate and smashed solos that weren’t originally his as they adjusted to touring as a foursome. he just… he really made that tour special. so now that he’s opened up that he was struggling with his mental health during it, i just want to say i’m so proud of him for getting up there. i never would have known he was having a tough time or that he felt like he was forcing it if he hadn’t said so. while he was helping ME with my mental health, making sure i was having the time of my life, being apart of MY happy place, he was also struggling. and i’m just so…. i hope he’s a lot better now and that he’s fallen back in love with being on stage for us again because i sure have missed stage liam and i’ve thrived on seeing him perform his solo material!!!! thank you liam for being so open. thank you for doing what you did on that tour even though it wasn’t easy. i have so much respect and love for liam payne. SO. MUCH.
