It's one of those sensory issues days. Everything is too loud, but my loop and ear protectors hurt too much and my skin hurts so all my clothing feels bad but I'm also so cold LOL
Also, fuck u dog owners who never are home. I thought living in a dog friendly apartment would be fun. NO! It's sensory hell. DO NOT recommend for those with sound/smell sensitivities.

Ok what's with "actually autistic" spaces highkey being ableist towards literally every other disability or to cluster B PDs. Always a white autie lady too. Like wtf? Ur not better cuz ur Autistic babe LOL 馃槀 it's annoying and so "I'm such a victim uwu mentality"
Once again y'all, autism doesn't absolve u from being an asshole.

Ah, my fave type of Instagram post. When a black autie is relaying their personal experience as a black autie and calling out the racism in the online autism community and the white oppression olympics autistics tone police them in the comments, using whataboutism and nit picking/derailing the conversation 馃檮
White ppl gonna be white ppl I guess LOL 馃槀

No offense but those "lesser known autism traits" or even worse; the "lesser known ND traits" (which makes no sense, ND is an umbrella term for conflicting dxs) posts are so fucking vague and filled with misinformation.
Like what traits exactly correlate to that of an autism trait? And the significance impact of these "traits" are so vital.
Humans stim and humans have particular sensory experiences they hate. Human hyperfixate and are socially awkward. It's the amount of times a day/ how much it affects you that makes you autistic.
Once again, you can be odd/quirky without being autistic. One is a personality trait and one is a nuerodevelopmental disability 馃憤

I'm having trouble understanding some people who do not see autism as a disability. I guess not everyone has sensory overload, but to me that is very disabling. And a neurodevelopmental disability literally means our brains are wired differently aka being disabled. Disabled isn't a dirty word. It's a descriptor that has negative connotations to some.
Also the criteria for autism is, it needs to affect your life significantly. If it doesn't/one does not have the needed criteria, one simply is not autistic. Like am I wrong for thinking this? Being autistic is not being quirky and some prominent social media accounts are spouting misinformation about autism. Listing traits that are literally not autism/just making posts about "ND traits" which makes no sense since it's an umbrella.
One needs clinical significance to be autistic, am I wrong??? It's just very much "well everyone is autistic" vibes lol. But everyone is not? It's ok to not be autistic and struggle? Like wtf? A human is allowed to struggle in life without a disability being the reason???
And pls don't come at me saying the dsm5 is wrong. Ik all about it, my spin is psychology. Someone said I was a pos essentially for quoting the dsm5 and just attacked my character and was very condescending. Like then what are we supposed to model autism on? Cuz not everyone is autistic, and there are a cluster of traits that denote autism. Ppl not being dx w/ autism either are not autistic or have a biased psych who cannot interpret the dsm5 and apply it to the varied presentations of autism.

normal vs disordered: sensory issues edition
normal: having one specific sound/taste/texture that you cannot stand (e.g the sound of polystyrene)
not normal: having a lengthy list of sensory experiences that you cannot stand
normal: being able to ignore uncomfortable sensory experiences relatively easily
not normal: fixating on particular sensory experiences and not being able to block them out
normal: getting irritated about repetitive noises or flashing lights
not normal: feeling overwhelmed or emotional because that beeping noise just will not stop
normal: feeling like everything is too much when you鈥檙e going through an otherwise hard time
not normal: avoiding sensory overload is part of your daily activities. you feel overwhelmed by sensory input regularly
normal: liking a particular noise/texture/taste
not normal: using particular repetitive noises/textures/tastes in order to help you calm down on a regular basis
everyone has particular sensory experiences that squick them out. everyone has particular sensory experiences that they enjoy. it鈥檚 just about how intense and how regular it is for you!

I really love the autism positivity on this website, but it seems to mainly focus on verbal autistics. Can I get a reblog for nonverbal autism positivity?

Double whammy ADHD moment 馃拝
I forgot that my apartment is shutting off the water for maintenance (I swear they have literally done this every 2 months. It's super annoying as I always forget and end up dehydrated af the whole day lol. Good thing I randomly woke up hella early, before they started maintenance.)
I also just flopped onto my bed and there lay a shirt I left out to put away, completely forgetting it for the past 2 hours as I got distracted and put up my train postcards (current spin)

Holy shit I'm so burnt out after 1 (one) social event. It was only 4 hours but it took a day of getting ready and two days of complete rest. This bitch literally slept for 10+ hours today 馃槣 Fuck do I hate socializing.
Plus I haven't had the energy to engage in any of my spins/hyperfixations. I want to so badly get ingredients for a slime recipe but the burnout has prevented me from doing so the past 2 days even tho I have literally nothing planned lol
//update: it's been 4 days and I'm still so fucking tired LOL fml

Holy shit. I went to a casual wedding last night and boy did I have a fully shutdown/meltdown after. I literally, if I could talk, speak in one word sentences.
Also the groom (who apparently is a neuroscientist) said the word "severe a*bergers" to describe a coworker in a pretty disrespectful manner (it was a means to other said coworker) and this is the same bitch who thinks all his friends are autistic.
Like babe, no ur very much neurotypical. Y'all were just the friend group who was raised be "intellectual" parents in a shitty rascist ass small town in the 90's. Trust me, if y'all were city kids y'all would be the norm 馃檮
Also like no offense but it seems like he conflated being "quirky" with autism since noone exhibits any of the actual asd traits lol. Like noone has issues in all 3 social communication/interactions and 2-4 repetitive/restricted behaviours. Smh
Once again, it's cuz every single friend in this group had parents who were not from the town so of course they'd come together (especially the parents, which would lead to more socialization with eachother as kids) since they weren't conforming to the small town mechanical solidarity mindset. In an organic solidarity culture (one with differences) aka the city, they'd be fine smh.
It's just so fucking insulting as being dx autistic early tends to lead to immense trauma since ppl infantilise or abuse you, and if ur late dx it takes literal years and thousands of dollars if ur lucky enough for doctors to refer you as an adult. Fucking I've been ruminating on this for too long
