O [Album]
The fifth album from Dutch alt rock band De Staat, O opens with the appropriately named "Pep Talk", then cruises through to the end without a break. It varies enough to keep each song distinct, but never lets you forget you're listening to one strong, cohesive album. Favorites are gonna be "Pep Talk" and "Blues is Dead".

Totorro
Coming out of Rennes, France in 2008, Totorro is one of the strongest entries in the post-rock/math rock genre. While (almost) entirely instrumental, the use of asymmetric meter and a little ingenuity keeps every song from becoming repetitive or sounding like background music. Their first two albums, EP and All Glory to John Baltor are explorations of the genres heavier roots, while Home Alone and Come to Mexico are more emblematic takes on math rock. Excellent driving music and definitely worth a listen.

Jonwayne
Jonwayne, real name the same, just with a space where you think it would be, is prolific rap artist and producer who got his start during high school on the east coast. He moved cross-country and emerged through the Low End Theory Club out in L.A. around the late 2000′s.  First came across him when Dirty Dan was posted to music forum, was a fan 20 minutes later, and a sad fan at 21 minutes when I found out his terminally named EP “Jonwayne Is Retired” had released in April last year.

Cool Company
“Cool Company is an East-Coast pop/hip hop duo formed in 2012, composed of members Cool Yan (vocals) and Fat Matt(production). With influences that range from Stevie to Outkast, they are known for their rhythmic, infectious grooves and Cool Yan’s versatile and expressive voice. Catch them gigging around NYC with their 8-piece band.“  -Taken from Bandcamp
Came for “Call You Back” (Seriously, check out the music video), stayed for the mellow gold that is Cool Yan’s voice over Fat Matt’s casually engaging production.
