Hey guys! I've started writing some one shots on my main, @bensolosbluesaber, and I'm going to start shifting this blog to that one just for simplicity.

So please follow me there before I delete this blog.

Oh, and I will be updating things in a few weeks. I'm getting ready to graduate and COVID college has not been kind to anyone, myself included! Once I'm out and have a real job/plan I'll be back to writing and hopefully finish all my WIPs.

How often do you update?

Not often enough!  When I’m on break from school, I try for once a week or once every other week, but when I’m in school my fics are (sadly) not my main priority.

I am literally the worst at updating, but I imagine I’ll get back to them in May once I’ve graduated.

Obviously, this is an Adam Driver/Ben Solo blog, and @aurora521 is my side blog for my fanfics which include Reylo. I imagine I'll probably get some asks about the accusations against Adam and my thoughts, so here they are.

TW: Violence, Abuse, Workplace Violence

As a feminist, I believe we should listen to the voices of all women, especially when they are speaking about abuse from men in positions of power/prominence/etc. When anyone accuses someone of abuse or violence, their voice should be heard.

There is a line between victim blaming/not believing a victim and immediately cancelling a suspected abuser. That's where I am, personally. There should be a discussion about this situation, and yes, we need more facts and a better translation. I do think Adam should speak on this, regardless of the truth of the accusation.

Adam Driver fans are allowed to take time and figure out what this means to them and if and how they will continue to be fans of him and his characters. Unfortunately, these are rarely black and white situations, and fans should not be condemned for not immediately cancelling him. Finding out that someone you like might be violent is not as easy as flipping a switch to suddenly not like that person.

Now, here are my specific thoughts given what I know and have heard. These will probably and should evolve as more information comes out.

As a psychology major, I know two people can experience the same thing and view it differently and that this different understanding doesn't make one person's views wrong. Having seen Adam act, he can be a very aggressive, scary person. As I understand the story, he acted aggressively toward a chair, using the chair as a 'stand-in' for the actress. (In an extreme, this would be like a man who throws plates or flips tables when he's angry at his wife but never hits her. There's a term for this, but I can't remember.) My thoughts are that in this situation Adam's action were interpreted by some as acting and by others as going to far and behaving in a scary, inappropriate way. Both views can be right, but I do believe that if this is the case Adam does owe this woman an apology. Intentionally or not, this made her feel unsafe and women should not have to feel unsafe ever. Also, this is something he needs to be able to manage on future sets by communicating what he's doing, warning actors, etc.

In short, I'm still writing fics and running my little blog with it's 50 followers because this is what I believe. We don't have all the facts. More information might and should change my mind, and we need to remember that stanning someone doesn't mean silencing people who speak out about them or devaluing victim's and women's voices and experiences. Just because there is no court case or because she didn't speak out sooner or because no one else has said anything, doesn't mean this didn't happen.

These aren't my complete thoughts, but it's what I have now. I'm happy to respond to asks about any of this and get more information if people have it. This makes sense in my head, but communication is hard. I'd rather take asks and clarify what I mean than have people be angry with me.

From the Ruins Chapter 9: The General is up!

"The Light was strong in his apprentice, and though he tried everything to crush it, erase his Skywalker blood, and leave only Vader, he was failing. Snoke would unaccustomed to failure. What he wanted, he would get, and he wanted Kylo Ren to embrace the Dark Side fully. For the cruel creature, this made his decision easy. If Ren wouldn't break the girl, he would do it himself."

Summary: When Supreme Leader Snoke ordered Kylo Ren to buy a slave girl, he was confident it would pull his young apprentice deeper into the Dark. From the Ruins Chapter 9 Preview

Here's a look (unedited) at the next chapter of From the Ruins.  It's called "The General," and it's going to be pretty dark.  Update will be the 30th or 31st!

“General Hux, fetch my apprentice.  We have much to discuss.”

“Supreme Leader, I regret to inform you that Kylo Ren is not aboard this ship.”

The hideous creature glowered down at his General, snarling.

“Where is he?”

“Exploring some nearby planet, my Lord.”

“And why is that, General?  Has the Resistance fighter revealed the map to Skywalker already?”

“He has not, sir.”

“And is Ren’s slave obedient to his every whim?  Has he crushed her as I ordered?”

Hux considered his next words carefully, pulling his lips into an ugly sneer.  Ren had made a mistake in caring for this girl, and now Hux would use that to destroy him.

“If I may, Supreme Leader.  I fear that Ren has failed you failed the First Order.  I am sorry to tell you that he seems to treat the girl with, forgive me for saying so… kindness.”

“Impossible,” Snoke hissed, though he knew it wasn’t impossible at all.

The Light was strong in his apprentice, and though he tried everything to crush it, destroy his Skywalker blood, leave only Vader, he was failing.  Snoke would not fail.  For the cruel creature, this decision was easy.  If Kylo Ren wouldn’t destroy the girl, he would do it himself.

His mask and several layers of clothing had been discarded at the door. It was late. He’d been planning to go straight to sleep, deal with whatever fallout there was with Rey in the morning, but from the moment he stepped foot on his ship he could sense distress emanating from her in waves.

The second time he murmured her name, her eyes snapped open. Even in the dim light, he could see that they were empty. Rey wasn’t really looking at him but through him, like he was someone else entirely.

“Please, please no,” she whimpered.

“Rey, look at me.”

Uh hi everyone!

I've been working on all my fics (Dramione included) and some cute little Holiday AUs. Finals are next week, so once I'm done with those, I will have nothing but writing time. So look for updates after the 20th for Reylo, probably after the 25th for Dramione. Hopefully I can finish everything before going back (virtually at least) to school.
