On April 18th, 2024, the official Instagram account of The Walking Dead shared the post shown within my edit in the left pane of the first of the photos shown ☝🏼here☝🏼. Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) was on a relatively short list of deceased characters from the series with this query—if we (the viewers) could bring back any character, which one would it be??? There goes that often annoying TWD account… trolling yet again in regards to Beth. *SIGH* 🙄😑🤨🤔

But I was so heartened when I looked through the comments and saw the huge volume of fans of the series—and not just Beth/Emily stans or Beth x Daryl shippers—stating that it is indeed be Beth Greene whom they would want to see come back… ALIVE. This coming November will mark TEN YEARS since Beth was tragically shot in that heartbreaking episode of “Coda.” And there are still SO MANY Walking Dead fans who would have been thrilled to see her return during the run of the series. THAT is a true testament to the impact of Beth as a character and how she has enduringly resonated with so many—her sensitivity, her empathy, her beauty inside and out, her strength, and her spirit. The faint Team Delusional fire within me sparks a fantasy of her showing up in the second season of Daryl Dixon. Hey… stranger things have happened, right? Just the fact that Daryl floated all the way across the Atlantic to France(!?!) in the first place certainly demands a substantial suspension of disbelief on the part of the viewers. 😐

Anyway, feeling inspired by the sight of the voluminous outpouring of love and devotion for Beth, I combed through the comment thread on the post and took screenshots of any Beth-related comments I could find. I then took all of those comments and poured them into a total of 17(!!!) separate Instastories that I shared on my Instagram (doeroseq). I tagged Emily Kinney on each story. Because I wanted her to see just how much she and Beth are both beloved and still missed by TWD’s fandom… all these years later. 👱🏻‍♀️💚🐞

And I later saw the confirmation in my Instagram messaging that she saw at least one of them. So that made me feel really good. 🥰

When I saw @bethiscomingsoon’s recent tumblr posts about their similar observations of the Beth/Emily adoration within the post’s comments, I decided to share my Instastories here too. 😁

We Beth/Emily and Bethyl fans need to stick together. 💞

1. What did No KIAs on BEF mean in Clear?

2. Why the sheriff's hat flashback in A?

3. Why did you not show her fans a burial to give them closure?

4. Why was the group so disturbed by the Beth silhouette walker trapped in the car of WHAWGA?

5. Why the time skip?

6. Why have the music box canonically symbolize Beth and have it be seemingly broken, only to work after Aaron says "I have good news,"?

7. Why did Maggie panic with Beth walker in Them, and he specific dialogue, "I closed it and it is still in there,"?

8. Why was Daryl so freaked out about going through the cluster of cars in Them that he went around?

9. Why do you not have Daryl ever talk about Beth, or anyone?

10. Why did Daryl check the face of the Beth lookalike tied to the tree?

11. Why distinguish Beth's portrait from the rest in Maggie's office?

The last person Rick and Michonne think they'll see once they've been recaptured by the CRM is Beth Greene. She's somehow survived a shot to the head and is now a part of high command at the CRM. What's happened to Beth during the years that have passed, and how does it effect the pair of escapee's now laid at her feet?

Based on my prediction of how Beth could come back at this point. Chapters 1-3 were written before the release of TWD:TOWL 1x05.

Back in season 5 right after Beth "died," Norman posted the pizza of Daryl carrying Beth. Then, team delusional with it's crazy conspiracy theories about Beth being alive and returning was born.

Delusional means holding false beliefs, but what if you end up being right?

Everything in this show is using biblical end times symbolism, and the whole concept of team delusional is no different.

The lie is the truth concept is coming from this verse from Isaiah 5.20, who wrote this about the end times...
