Writing prompt (?): soulmate edition.

Soulmate Au, your normal ‘writing on one’s wrist are what there soulmate first says to them.’ But One person has four of these.

A villian or a hero of the story has 4 *whole* speeches written on both their wrist and both their ankles, all are from different people.

Meanwhile their soulmates are the opposite job to them. If the Mac is a hero, all four soulmates are villains.

I’d imagine the meeting goes like this:

“God these speech’s take forever- wait a damn minute… ok, we found the first soulmate that sucks.”

*10 minutes later*

*Mc is frantically glancing at their wrists and ankles* “OH F*CK OFF! ALL OF YOU!”

And of course their outburst is what the other characters have written on a wrist or ankle.

It’s not a love triangle, it’s a love square.

Edit: and for anyone that’s mute or hard of hearing, it’d be where they first touch. Just a marking of some sort on their body some where.

Of course, this all counts for platonic soulmates.

And some people can be soul mates of two people but those other people aren’t or are and are platonic/romantic while the first person is the opposite.

Punctuating Dialogue

➸ “This is a sentence.”

➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.

➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”

➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”

➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”

➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”

➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.

“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.

“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”

➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”

➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”

However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!

➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.

If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)

➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“

“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.

➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.

➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”

➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.

“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”

➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.

“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”

Offerings for Aphrodite

Incense/Candles: A pretty simple offering. Use ones with scents that she’s associated with or that remind you of her. Rose and ocean scents, as well as myrrh, apple, and myrtle, are all candle or incense scents you could offer. I personally, though not typically associated with Her, offer strawberry incense that smells really sweet and reminds me of Her.

Roses: Anything rose related. A whole rose, the petals, or even rose water! Roses are one of Aphrodite’s sacred plants and I’m sure she’ll appreciate it greatly.

Chocolate: I’ve never actually tried this offering myself, but I hear She loves chocolate!

Orgasms: Another one I’ve yet to try but, seeing as She’s the Goddess of love and pleasure, it’s a very popular thing to offer.

Apples: Especially ones yellow/golden in color. 

Jewelry: Offer her a piece of jewelry and keep it on your altar when not wearing it.

Makeup, lotion, perfume, etc.: You could offer your beauty products to Her! Bonus points if they’re colors or scents that remind you of Her.

Art: Any form of art that you made for Her. A story, poetry, sculptures, drawings, anything! And don’t fuss over it beings absolutely perfect for our lovely Goddess, She will love it and think it’s perfect no matter what because you made it and you made it for Her.

Seashells: Especially scallop and abalone shells. Decorate your altar to Her with them! You could even use a scallop shell as the offering bowl on your altar for Her.

Olive oil: The olive tree was very important in Greek culture and it’s branches, as well as olive oil, were given as offerings often! So it’s a pretty safe bet.

Honey: Call me out if I’m wrong but I believe honey was also important in Greek culture. Bees are also associated with Aphrodite so honey would make a good offering.

A letter: Pretty simple! Just write a letter to Her! You can tell her anything you want!

Like, head cannoning that hazel (Dc insert) likes disconnected drinks so much she tried to recreate them even if she is, for good reason, banned from any form of kitchen?

Why don’t I just make it cannon.

Having Self insert oc’s or just insert oc’s in general feels so cringe but like, look at this little silly character I can traumatise while also treating like my child.

I feel like a proud parent taking care of these little guys, even if they’re more than 15 of them and I keep forgetting who goes into which fandom.
