Once I told in the class group chat to "pay attention". A week later during a chemistry experiment I accidentally dropped burning magnesium as soon as it caught fire and my classmate said "pay attention". What does attention skills have to do with me reacting to sudden burst of flames?

I am aware now saying "pay attention" is ableist so I don't use it anymore.
