Update 20/06

Good news, folks, I am still alive!

Apologies for the massive gap in communications there! I’ve been having some MASSIVELY unforeseen technical difficulties, which technically are still ongoing, but I’m finally on top of it enough to release the next episode!

My conversation about Ecco the Dolphin with @sparkylurkdragonw will be up by the end of the month, and I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I enjoyed the conversation! Then I’ll be releasing episodes monthly for a couple months until I’ve got my techinical set up completely sorted out, but I didn’t want to leave everyone waiting for much longer!

Update 02/04

Hey folks, happy autism acceptance month!  As you’re probably aware, yesterday saw the release of the very first episode, and I have been so incredibly touched and excited to see people engaging with and enjoying the show! I’m so happy to be working on this project, and it means so much to me that other people seem happy with it too!  And in related news, if you enjoyed the music of the show, you’ll be thrilled to hear that the music is available on Bandcamp! update: 26/03

We are five days away from launch day folks! 

This has been a pretty long road for me. I first came up with the idea for the podcast a few years ago, but didn’t have the energy to put into actually making it happen. Then a couple of years back I tried to get it going, and quickly ran out of steam after some pretty significant life events got in the way. 

After finally starting to record episode, there were yet more delays and setbacks, personal and global catastrophes, and a lot of time spent not being sure how to push forward. There were, in all honestly, a lot of times when I thought that this podcast was always just going to be a nice idea that I had. 

I am overwhelmed beyond words to be just a few days away from finally sharing the first episode of my nice idea. I am so, so grateful to everyone who has participated, and everyone who gave any kind of encouragement or support to the show. I couldn’t have done this without you. 

If you want to show some love to the artists who contributed to the show, the please check out their work! The podcast art was created by the marvellous Eric Monk-Steel, who you can find here on tumblr and on Instagram. The intro and outro music were created by the incomparable Maki Yamazaki, and you can find her work on Bandcamp, and follow her on twitter. I can’t wait to share the outro music with you, it’s absolutely delightful. 

The first episode will be released on April 1st, and will feature my very good friend Ria Marra, and we’ll be talking about floristry! I had such a fun time talking with her, and I hope you’ll have fun listening! update 22/03

hey folks! It’s a couple of days late for an update, but I thought I’d keep people in the loop. I’ve been having some computer trouble for the last few days, but I should still be getting the first episode out on time on April 1st 

I’m so incredibly excited for the start of the show! I’ve had so many fun and cool conversations with people, I can’t wait to share them with all of you. And the feedback I got from the trailer was positively heartwarming! Thanks to everyone who helped share it around.

Hey folks! I hope somebody is as excited for this podcast as I am, because I’m practically buzzing with it! Literally buzzing with it sometimes, I get very vocal stimmy. 

Hopefully you all saw the trailer go up on Sunday, but if not I’m pleased to tell you that Across the Spectrum can now be found on the podcatcher of your choice! We’re on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Stitcher, Podcast Addict, and many more!

Update: 05/03

Hey folks! We’re getting ever closer to the release of the very first episode! 

To that end, I have a trailer that will be up on Sunday! Unless something goes disastrously wrong before that. I’m pretty excited for you all to hear this trailer, it’s my first time doing this kind of editing and I’m really happy with how it turned out. 

Not much else to say this week! The first episode should be out on the first of April, so if you have any friends you think would be interested please let them know! I had a really fun time talking to these people, and I can’t wait to share the conversations with you!

Update 19/02

Hey everyone! 

Have you ever hit a point in a project where your excitement for it suddenly triples? I’m there right now. I’m the most excited I have ever been for this podcast! 

The music is almost done, and you’ll get your first taste of that at the beginning of March, when I release the trailer for the podcast. The podcast art is also almost ready for unveiling! The artist has just shown me the final concept art, and folks I am so incredibly excited about this artwork. Like, I’m actually kind of dying to show you the mock up because I’m so excited, but I want you to get the full effect of the finished art. So I’ll be dropping that as SOON as it’s available. 

With the art, I’ll also be putting up the podcast twitter! You’ll be able to follow there for updates on the show, and upcoming episodes. So watch out for that very shortly. 

I’m so excited for this podcast! Thanks to everyone who’s been following the blog and waiting for the show to come out, knowing how many people are interested in this project has really helped keep me motivated. I’ll see you all soon!

Update 14/02

I realise this is a couple of days late, but here’s the Friday update! 

The theme song is in it’s final stages! I’m currently working on cutting together a trailer, and I’m very excited about it. I’ll be releasing the trailer in early March, assuming that nothing goes wrong, so watch out for that! 

I’ve also seen some rough concept sketches for the artwork, and I’m very happy with it so far. Once I have that I’ll put up the Twitter for the podcast and you’ll be able to watch there for updates on the release of the show! 

I’m also considering making a public google doc folder for the transcripts? Until I can afford to set up an actual website I don’t have a lot of other means of making them accessible to everyone. If anyone has any issues with that or other suggestions feel free to message me.

Update: 06/02

Hi folks! Sorry the updates have been a little spotty, but thank you for sticking with me while I try to make them a regular Friday occurrence! 

Here’s where we’re at so far: 

The theme song is almost finished! I’ve been getting regular updates from the artist and I’m pretty thrilled with it. If anyone is interested I can post it here separately when it’s done? Otherwise you’ll here it in the trailer I’m planning to put out next month 

Speaking of trailer, editing on the first batch of episodes is almost finished! Once that’s done I’ll get them approved by the interviewees, and start work cutting together the trailer 

The artwork has been something of a point of contention for me. For some reason I have a massive block concerning it, even though the plan for it is fairly simple. Luckily a good friend of mine has agreed to take the commission on it, So I should have that available soon! 

And As soon as the art is done, I’ll be launching the podcast twitter page! There I’ll be able to post any updates as they happen, and let you guys know when stuff is available! 

Finally, it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to do the website at this time. I was hoping to make something with Square Space, but I can’t really afford the subscription at this time. Hopefully this will be something I can make available in the future, but until then I’ll be looking for other solutions to transcript availability.

Update: 15/01/21

Hey folks! Just letting you know I’m still alive and still working on things. The website and artwork are not quite ready to go up yet, but I’m talking with the musician who’s handling my theme music. 

Once I’ve got the theme music, I’m hoping to put together a kind of trailer for the podcast? So look out for updates on that in the (hopefully) near future!

07/01 update

Hey folks, I am still alive!  apologies for the break in communication again this week, the holidays have been... a thing. I don’t have much to report this week, but by next Friday I’m hoping to:

Give a status update on the intro music

Release podcast art

Announce the podcast website 

I know, I have the goals. I’m intending for the website to give people  access to episodes, announcements, links to interviewees works, and (hopefully) transcripts, so keep an eye out for that! I will see you all next week
