yoooo first time seeing nbt live and I was absolutely blown away. damn they put on a great show. assorted thoughts (athoughtment):

first concert in a little while (and the only one I had lined up for this year so far, so if anyone wants to announce a tour soon...) and we were feeling Old, so we decided to sit in the back. sitting at a concert will always feel weird to me, but at least we had a great view and I wasn't as wrecked as I usually end up after a show.

opener (The Snuts, which I kept misreading as The Sluts) sounded great live, but when we listened to some of their stuff in the car later they unfortunately sounded Aggressively Mediocre.

the sound mix wasn't great, especially on the first few songs, vocals way too quiet unless conor was shouting, but they managed to fix it somewhat. but even with that, holy shit does he have a great voice. I went in with no real expectations bc I had never seen/heard them perform live, so I was completely blindsided by that.

talking about conor, at some point he made a comment about running up on stage like a 5-year-old bc this was their first show in a while and. yeah he really does give off "little kid on a sugar high"-energy the way he dances around on stage (affectionate).

at some point they played an instrumental medley ("instrumental" meaning "fuckton of guitars") that I think was just a flex?? like it did not need to go that hard lol.

definitely will see them again at the earliest opportunity, this show gave me way more appreciation for their music (before I was just a moral panic-girlie) and the energy was great, would love to be down in The Pit the next time. though they said this might be their last tour for a while, so I guess that's my luck with live music lol.

also shout-out to our parking space, both of the venue's car parks were already packed by the time we got there, but through I think some kind of divine intervention we got a parking space only like 5 minutes away. the little pleasures of getting old.
