I will be posting real updates somewhere around 2 weeks from now, i'm currently working on some behind the scenes organization and some promo for youtube and (ugh) twitter because i have no emails left to run a puppet army

my laptop went down and now it’s essay time

(in character) My laptop decided to just stop being able to charge. This would have been fine at anytime during the 4 months of school with no classes but now we’re being forced to write an insane amount of essays so that the teachers know what our current comprehension of the subject is.

Each essay is supposed to be 5-10 pages long and properly formatted. I would go to the library and use the computers there but it closes around 3 hours after my last class and that just isn’t enough time for 7 essays.

So I’m stuck typing them on my phone along with this post. And, they know about my current situation but I used all of the grant money for textbooks and basic necessities.

everyone loves snowstorms

I just spent half of my rent on gas, driving around the entire state looking for textbooks, since the entire time I could have spent shopping, there's been a ridiculous snowstorm that made it impossible to drive.

Well at least tommorrow, classes are finally actually starting.

the start of a spite-filled journey

For this entire week, I've had study halls. Until today, where we were told to actually go to our classes. That's good, that's nice right? I was a little suspicious since the classes were only 25 minutes long at best and they're usually around an hour at least. But I was hopeful that maybe they would at least go over the syllabus for classes.

Except for the fact that the professors still aren't done. They just brought us in to give us each a supply list.

After 8 classes, the list was insanely long. If you don't know, the post era history bachelors degree classes run mostly on Mozart's Encyclopedia of the Old World and the many autobiographies/biographies of the important figures.

Do you want to guess the total? Do you?

I'm still searching for copies of some of the books but so far it's around seven thousand dollars. which is frankly ridiculous.

I'll post the full list of everything later so some people who want to major in this can start preparing but honestly it's not worth it.

(Also, the teachers aren't teaching anything until after break, all we did in class was answer interview questions for their new papers on the effects that the recent developments in the field have had on us.)

a chaotic first semester

So I’m a post-era history major whose just started college right? Yeah well I started at literally the worst possible time. Here’s why.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, under a mountain, under the crust of the earth, you’ve heard about Florida finally sinking into the swamps completely. Even though it’s been coming for a long time the field of Post-Era study was not ready for the Nexus Mind to be lost along with it. That was back when the school year first started. All the professors I had went to the site to try and recover as much information as possible. Except for the languages professor

(The TAs are still here too but they don’t count since most of them are frantically revising their pHDs)

I have been stuck working with dialects and alphabets and pronunciations for 5 months.

FIVE MONTHS.

And now most of the professors are finally back since and as of right now I’m sitting in a study hall while every other professor I have completely redoes their lesson plans because, as mentioned before, Florida’s underwater and took the Nexus Mind with it.

This, is a semi-arg, semi-webseries account.

The character that I, the runner of the blog, am playing is a COLLEGE STUDENT. I, however, am a MINOR.

Everything is in character, no matter how shitpost-y it is. take a closer look though, there's a tip. I'll mark everything as in-character or not in both the top of the post and the tags, just to be sure.

This information page will be updating based on where I'm at in the storyline.

Running an ARG on the Hell Website(tm) is a weird decision, but I'm too busy to try and do anything over a custom website/with an army of sock puppets on 4chan/YouTube.

My main account, which is not in-character, is @whyamihererlly. The other artist working on this with me is @kayo-kojiros, who is helping with paneling and text.

Once I get the designs and basic layout done and posted, here's my upload schedule.

At least 1, possibly 2 small sections of the series every week.

At least 1 lore page post a week, possibly more.

Maybe more, I'm currently working on uploading everything I have on paper to my Google Drive and writing everything I have on online on paper with formatting so non-series lore will be slow until I finish

Lastly, tagging. I will be tagging all of the series pages as 'Requiem By Shenz'. The lore pages will be 'Post-Era History 25th Edition'. All other posts are for you to figure out, it's a semi-ARG after all, not me serving you the entire dish. The first two tags are both linked down in the tags of this post.

New Info:

I am aware that my magic system is near identical to the one in Reverse: 1999 (based purely on the 5 minutes of the game I've played.) I did not take inspiration, steal, or use the game in any way, shape, or form. I have not played any longer than the five minutes because I realized how similar the systems were and I couldn't handle it because I've been working on this series since January of 2022 and have had the magic system since February of 2022. If the magic systems end up being identical, oh well, I have the screenshots to prove that I didn't take any inspiration. If you're wondering why I'm addressing this, Reverse: 1999 is the reason why I'm speeding up my schedule because my biggest fear is someone taking my magic system/plot.

Story sections will be very short. There may be large amount of character over description. This is a relic from back when I was planning to make this a comic instead of a text based series, and I cannot keep up the same schedule of uploading if I remove this. Once the first 5-ish pre-written chapters are done uploading, this will not be an issue anymore, but I may have to upload more slowly.

This may or may not extend onto other sites. I do have an Instagram account set up but nothing on there will be active lore.

I do not care how this appeals to anyone, I just need to get this series out before anyone takes any more of my plot.
