Got a really cool surprise in my mail this week. Matt Lowery & Cassie Janderson were kind enough to send me this copy of their graphic novel Lifeformed along with a very nice handwritten note. Finally getting around to some promised portraits. This is a digital painting of the lovely Megan Giunta, aka Frankie, aka @thelittlebarber, aka founder of the complimentary cab. Megan’s got these crazy grey/green eyes, it was a lot of fun trying to get them right. Hope you guys like it!

Here’s a morning sketch of Black Canary. I played it safe with the colors here, just cause I’m terrified of color when I’m working on paper. I’m much more adventurous when working digitally :)

Playing around with some brushes in Photoshop. I still haven't found a decent solution for blending colors in Photoshop without the use of a keyboard. Paint Studio has a fantastic blending brush. I'm messing around the brush settings to see if I could replicate it in Photoshop.

I pulled the trigger and bought a Surface Book 2. I’m planning on making a video about my experience with it so far. Let me know if any of you guys have specific questions about it!

My brother recently told me that YRT bus fares are a whole $4. And here I thought that TTC fares were already ridiculous at $3.25. That’s crazy, what's the point of public transit if it costs an arm and leg just to go to work? Here are some digital inks, carrying on with that personality thing I’m working on. This is a bit of a failure. Without those squiggly lines, I don’t think you can tell she’s annoyed. Something to work on!

Here's an illustration I put together last night. I'm trying to make an effort of including more "personality" in my work. I didn't quite succeed here, but I think I'm on the right track. Let me know what you guys think!
