Organic Design
Organic Design is in the style of Product Design, which makes the starting point organic and flowing natural forms. Flowing lines, dynamic curves, and powerful arches stand in contrast to the geometric.
Frank Lloyd Wright was the first architecture to bring the word ‘organic’ into his work and it began as early as 1908. This was an influence from his mentor Louis Sullivan who believed “form follows function”. Over the years Organic Design has become more and more popular due to the modern structures now used with many curves and dynamic shaped buildings.
The idea of Organic Design was to base all the ideas off of nature and how it would be aesthitically pleasing to look at within nature, also that the materials are sustainable or maybe even organic themselves.
Although Organic Design became more popular unfortunately in World War 2 the idea started to die out as they simply did not have the materials to build the fabulous buildings that had been designed.
Then in the 1960′s Organic Design had been recognised again and has been relevant to this day and the structures have become more advanced and they are using several different materials to build with. now in todays age it is very popular and leading cities around the world have begun to have more Organic Structures in places like shopping malls, office buildings and many more.
Overall Organic Design is a very interesting topic and has many great Designers that have influenced not only Designers but also peoples vision of art.
