Japanese Men vs. Simple Task

So I was watching the draw for Japanese Nationals and couldn’t stop laughing at how much the men were struggling to get through the procedure. The ladies had a few struggles too but the men were particularly chaotic. It’s meant to go like this: come up when your name is called, draw your token, then walk to the right and get your picture taken with a gift. Here’s Marin Honda with a flawless demonstration. (Please forgive the gif quality, I couldn’t download the video and had to make these from a screen recording.)

Keep in mind the ladies’ draw was first, so the guys have already been sitting there and watching this process play out in front of them countless times. And yet, when it was their turn …

Shoma goes first and sets a poor precedent by trying to go back to his seat.  Luckily Dai is there to get him back on track. -3 GOE.

Daisuke also has an awkward moment despite having just helped Shoma. -1.5 GOE.

Keiji turns to his seat before realizing his mistake. -1 GOE.

Precious himbo Yuzuru is completely oblivious and nearly has his ass back in the chair before he realizes. Then he almost t-bones Koshiro (while bowing?) on his way back. -5 GOE.

Koshiro turns the wrong way but quickly corrects himself and salvages some PCS with a sweet spinning move. -1 GOE.

Kazuki keeps his cool despite the chaos surrounding him and completes the procedure successfully. +1.5 GOE.  📣 📣 WAY TO GO KAZUKI!!  🎉 🎉

Hot take everyone needs at least one creative hobby to accompany their consumptive ones. I don’t mean just art and writing I mean literally anything where you create something. Embroidery, cooking, knitting, gardening, wood whittling, trap making, needle felting, instrument playing, bug raising, fandom analysis writing, ANYTHING where you do work and can hold the fruits of your labor in you hands. Anything where you MAKE something else.

Something that isn’t a career choice. Something you don’t have to be good at. As long as it brings you joy.

Please get hobbies, they enrich your life.
