It's just that in August of this year, I saw New Kids on the Block, all five of the New Kids on the Block, live in concert, with my best friend whom I met in 1990 when we were 13, as mutual New Kids on the Block fans.
That's not something every fan of a boyband gets to experience across a lifetime.
I had a point, but I've lost it in place of feelings.

When you're brushing your teeth getting ready for a late night and the intrusive thought is "now there never CAN be a reunion"
Oooooooooof.

Hey all. Logging in to this account after forgetting even what email this was attached to for half an hour, all to say...
Take care of yourselves, yeah? Take care of yourselves and your loved ones, your fur babies, your plants and greenery.
Be well.

Feeling warm and fuzzy and a lil weepy today about our old sweet boys and the years we had with them ♥️💔😪🌄 our kitten photos are on other devices but I love and cry about how they used to be inseparable, right up until they weren't.
#cw pet death#this spring we will put them both to rest beneath their favorite hedge#there was debate because they didn't love the same hedge#but I think Silmaril would have gone anywhere Melkor wanted to go#so Melkor's hedge it is

So here I am, voting in yet another US primary election season, with a little time to kill before work, and my mind casts back to a more pleasurable past, and settles on ... These muppets.
youtube
I will always be up front about the fact that One Thing is, if not my favorite 1D song OF ALL TIME, definitely in my top five. And one of the remaining four slots is going to be taken up by the One Thing Acoustic Version.
I just.... look at those fucking muppets! Three of them have their own muppets now!

When absolutely 0 of Biden’s accomplishments have made any kind of news, and we’ve been fed a steady diet of fear and panic for 3 years, no one gets to be shocked when he loses the next election to Donald 2.0.
Posting anything positive about the president here will get you called a capitalist bootlicker.
What do we expect to happen?
Anger sells better. Anger feels better, it feels righteous.
It’s easier to protest against a president you don’t like then to actually remain in charge and keep pushing ahead, even if small, consistent accomplishments are all you receive.

When forensic experts arrived, they said: "Unfortunately, it is impossible to identify the baby's body on the spot. The burning temperature was such that the baby's unformed bones turned almost to ashes. We assume that the mother held the children by hugging and pressing them to her chest."

Imagine your city is fucking gone. Really sit with that thought. Let it germinate within your mind. It's no longer there. The streets you lived in, where you played with your friends as a kid, where you fell in love. Gone. It's a pile of smoking rubble. It's not there. You can't go back there. It's not there. It no longer exists. This is what russia did to Avdiivka. This is what they did to Bakhumt earlier, and to many other cities and towns. All because Western aid is being stalled. Because a lunatic religious fanatic is the Speaker of the House, and his party is full of self-serving traitors to the country. Because Polish farmers are blocking transit of important military aid at our border. Because all of you drank up russian psy-ops like thirsty wanderers in the desert. Because we gave away the weapons that could've prevented this to the perpetrator of this, in exchange for a deal to "guarantee our sovereignty" which one of the signatories broke and the other two are afraid to fulfill.
So sit with that thought now, and draw conclusions, and be better, and do whatever is in your power to prevent it from happening in the future, because if they aren't stopped in Ukraine, they won't stop with Ukraine. Do everything you can, so that the thought is a hypothetical, not a premonition.

Here's the video version of my discussion of the leaked emails that prove the Hugo Awards removed finalists (me, RF Kuang, Paul Weimer, Neil Gaiman & Ep 6 of Sandman) for political reasons, despite us having the required votes. Because too many of you are making assumptions without bothering to read the full exposé.
There's a lot of nuance in this case that I hope people can acknowledge. No, it is not "sinophobic" to criticize the Chinese government's severe censorship policies when anyone who's spent more than ten minutes on the Chinese internet knows how bad it is, and there IS evidence of pressure in this case. There's nothing to accomplish by pretending like it's not a thing. You're not furthering the world proletarian revolution by speaking over the lived experiences of Chinese comrades and denying factually shitty aspects of your favorite AES.
Yes, the Western and presumably white members of the Hugo admin team DID circle back to racism by trying so hard to appease the Chinese government that they preemptively censored Chinese diaspora ~ to be safe ~ on extremely flimsy reasons without even reading our books. And of course, confusing Nepal for Tibet.
It's really not one or the other.
