“Back to you” is out now! In this post we will explain the fifth day of our #6DaysOfBackToYou (if you want more details, click here). In this fifth day we want to organize a streaming marathon using Shazam. As you know, to stream a song with Shazam helps a song to get the top in the charts. So if we use Shazam all together, our action will have a big impact on the charts.

Why do we have to do a marathon? The purpose of the marathons is to organize a kind of “parties” to focus all our effort and all our attention on that specific thing, on that specific day. Marathons will help to gain our goals quickly and effectively.

What do you have to do? All you have to do is to download the app, to play the song and to let the app recognize it. This is a way to get the song in the charts. At the moment “Back to you” has 60.548 Shazams. So... keep going!

#6DAYSOFBACKTOYOU - Day Four: Youtube marathon.

“Back to you” is out now! In this post we will explain the fourth day of our #6DaysOfBackToYou (if you want more details, click here). In this fourth day our purpose is to organize a youtube marathon on Spotify, which means that we have to watch the “Back To You” official video all together, at the same time, to increase the views.

Why do we have to do a marathon? The purpose of the marathons is to organize a kind of “parties” to focus all our effort and all our attention on that specific thing, on that specific day. Marathons will help to gain our goals quickly and effectively.

What do you have to do? All you have to do is to watch the video and to share it on twitter, tumblr, facebook, instagram and other social medias. At the moment the video has  5.526.762 views, but we can do better, if we focus our attention on watching and sharing it.

UK Changed Charts Rule

I’ve seen a lot of people mention the new UK Charts rule, but so far noone has (or at least I haven’t seen it) explicitly said what it means for Louis’ chances of debuting at #1. 

Singles Chart UK takes into account the following formats: 

Digital formats

- Audio track permanent download

- Audio track ‘on demand’ stream

- Digital single bundle (3 tracks max) 

Physical formats (max. 3 can be chosen to track out of following)

- 1 track CD (one audio track)

- 1 track+ CD (one audio track + additional audio track/remix OR video OR ringtone)

- Vinyl 7″ or Vinyl 12″

- Maxi CD/DVD Enhanced (max four tracks - audio or video + additional audio versions of those four tracks)

- Maxi DMD 

Or 

- Remix single: 1 song title, only one video for the lead track, and a number of remixes (in total no longer than 40 min of that one audio track)

Rules of combining these

Digital downloads and physical sales count as 1. 

Streaming counts as a ratio of 150:1, i.e. 150 streams equal 1 unit of digital downloads.

**NEW** If a song has been in the charts for over 7 weeks, and has seen a decrease in streams over the past 3 weeks, streaming will count as a ratio of 300:1, i.e. 300 streams equal 1 unit of digital downloads. This means that its importance is halved in comparison to new charting songs.

**NEW** An artist can only chart with 3 songs. 

What does this mean for Louis? 

1. Video purchases/streams do not count for the UK Singles Chart. They do for the Video Chart. 

2. He is going to chart based only on digital downloads, sales of the 1track+ CD format, as well as streams. 

3. To beat Despacito, he will have to consistently stream at least at 50% of how much Despacito is being streamed (currently 568092x a day) Or his physical sales will have to compensate for the gap in streams, as Despacito is also outselling him digitally.

4. To beat Wild Thoughts, which does not qualify for that new rule, he will have to stream more than how much Wild Thoughts is being streamed (531948x a day) - or his physical/digital sales will have to compensate for the (so far) huge gap in streams. 

5. He is STILL not on the Spotify UK Top 50 List. That means he’s currently streamed less than 118.593x a day. Which means there is A LOT of work to do. 

Conclusion: STREAM THE FUCK OUTTA BACK TO YOU THROUGH A UK VPN.

In this third day our purpose is to organize a streaming marathon on Spotify, which means that we have to stream the song all together, at the same time, to increase the plays.

Why do we have to do a marathon? The purpose of the marathons is to organize a kind of “parties” to focus all our effort and all our attention on that specific thing, on that specific day. Marathons will help to gain our goals quickly and effectively. 

What do you have to do? All you have to do is to stream the song on Spotify for all the day. But don’t forget to read the rules to stream properly on Spotify (you can find them here), because if you don’t follow the rules, you risk to stream the song in the wrong way and your contribute will be useless. You also have to tweet (or to write on other social medias) to listen to the song (you can find here an example of what you can write). The purposes are to stream the song and to spread the link everywhere.

“Back to you” is out now! In this post we will explain the second day of our #6DaysOfBackToYou (if you want more details, click here). In this second day our purpose is to request radio stations to play “Back To You”. We have to send as many requests as we can. All together. So radio stations will notice our big request and we will be louder.

Why do we have to do a marathon? The purpose of the marathons is to organize a kind of “parties” to focus all our effort and all our attention on that specific thing, on that specific day. Marathons will help to gain our goals quicklyand effectively.

What do you have to do? All you have to do is to tweet or to write the most important radio stations in your country, asking to play “Back To You”. You can find here a recap of the most important radio stations all around the world. Check the list to find your country (obviously you can also write radio stations that are not in your country!). So you will know who you have to write to.

This an example of what you can write (of course you can edit this text, but remember to write #BackToYou with the hashtag!):

“Hi @radio’s nickname ! Can you play #BackToYou by Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha, please? Thank you!”

Remember to be nice. We are asking for a favor. So we have to be polite and respectful, because behind the radio stations there are people who are working and who are busy. So be kind and don’t be rude. Everything must be done with love and respect.

JOIN THE THUDERCLAP - #ProjectBackToYou

Hello there! Finally we can announce our thunderclap. Some weeks ago we wrote that one of ideas we have is to organize a thunderclap to promote the song. 

What is a thunderclap? In a more detailed way, we can say that thunderclap is a crowdspeaking platform. In fact the purpose of Thunderclap is to spread a messange. This is a way to make a message going viral. If you join the thunderclap, the app will tweet a message from your account. This is message is the same for everyone who joined the thunderclap and it will be tweeted in the same day from every account. It is an automatic message.

We are here to ask you to join it, because we need supporters and if we have a lot of supporters, we can make our message more viral and louder.

#6DAYSOFBACKTOYOU - First Day: iTunes Marathon.

“Back to you” is out now! So it’s time to start our project. In this post we will explain the first day of our #6DaysOfBackToYou (if you want more details, click here). During the first day of promotion we want to organize a marathon to spread the message of buying the song on iTunes. The purpose of the marathons is to organize a kind of “parties” to focus all our effort and all our attention on that specific thing, on that specific day. Marathons will help to gain our goals quickly and effectively. So today will start the iTunes Marathon and it will last one day (July 21th).

What do you have to do? It’s easy: all you can do is to tweet to buy the song on iTunes. Of course you can also spread the word on other social medias. The important thing is to focus on telling people to buy the song on iTunes. Listening/buying “Back to you” on iTunes will bring the song at the top of worldwide charts. This is an example of what you can write:

Of course fans can tweet to buy the song every day, even if it’s not the day of this specific marathon. The purpose of the matathon is to focus all our attention on one specific thing in one moment. But you have to give your contribute daily.  So you will help twice at the same time and when there will be the marathon, your help will be greater, because there will be a lot of fans like you doing the same thing, all together. We have to make waves of love everyday, but joining a marathon is like to provocate a tzunami of love in one day, focusing on one goal.

NINE HOURS OF “BACK TO YOU” - Playlist.

“Back To You” is out in some countries. So we decided to create a playlist on Spotify to maximize the success of the song. The purpose of the playlist is to play the song for a tot hours automatically. So everything will be easier and all you have to do is to let the playlist play.

But to stream the song properly you have to follow some rules (that we posted here in a more detailed way).  You can find a quickly recap of the rules below: 

You must be on your computer or phone to use Spotify. You can download the program on your pc or the app on your phone. IMPORTANT: if you do not have Spotify Premium, you must use a playlist. The ideal way to stream without Spotify premium is on a computer, because the mobile app will skip the playlist every other song. 

Don’t mute the playlist while you are playing it, because if you mute the song, your stream won’t count. So keep it on a lower volume (or keep it loud, if you want).

hello!! so i think i’m speaking for a lot of us when i say that louis’ interview with the observer left us all very sad and very upset and so so full of love for our precious boy. “and then there’s me,” might just be four words but they’re four words that show us how vulnerable louis has felt because of the way he’s been treated by some people, and how he’s be relegated to the sidelines so often. he doesn’t realize just how truly  fundamental he is to the success of one direction and how much he means to all of us.

so that brings me to a little fan collaborative i’m calling “and then there’s louis.”

Hi, guys! “Back to you” will be out in one fucking day and we think that it’s time to talk about the right way to stream a song, because if we stream properly, we can gain our aims effectively. So we wrote this post to let you know the rules that you have to follow:

You must be on your computer or phone to use Spotify. You can download the program on your pc or the app on your phone. IMPORTANT: if you do not have Spotify Premium, you must use a playlist. The ideal way to stream without Spotify premium is on a computer, because the mobile app will skip the playlist every other song. 

Add multiple copies of “Back to you” to a playlist.

Make sure that the repeat button is on.

When you play the song, don’t let the song mute, because if you mute a song, your stream doesn’t count. Keep it on lower volume or keep it loud.

Let the song playing for 35 seconds before skipping. So your stream will count. 

If you want to help U.K./U.S.A. charts even if you don’t live in the U.K./the U.S.A., you have to change your IP address and you can find here how to change it. 

In the U.S.A 150 single streams = 1 sale. 1,500 album streams = 1 sale. Billboard Stream tracking-week begins on Friday and ends on Thursday night.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR IP ADDRESS FOR THE STREAMING.

Hi there! This is a post to explain you how you make your streaming count for the american charts, even in you are not living in the USA. As you know, every device (computer, smartphone, iPhone, etc) has an IP address. This IP address change relying on the place where you live. So thanks to IP addresses, someone can find out where you are located for example. However there is a way to change our IP address to pretend that we are in a different place. 

How can this help our project? This can help our project, because if you change your IP address, you can help “Back To You” to get the top in the american charts, even if you are not living in the USA; you can make your streaming count for the USA, even if you are not living there.

What do you have to do? You have to go through a VPN (Virtual Private Network). When you connect through a VPN and then select a country, it makes it seem like you are actually in that country. So if you listen to “Back To You”, after you used a VPN, it seems that you are listening to the song in that country that you selected. 

How can you go through a VPN? There are different ways to use a VPN and you can find some providers below: 

SAFERVPN: All you need to get started is to register for a free SaferVPN trial, download the app for any device and install it. You can find here a detailed tutorial to use SaferVPN. Then you have to check your location on Spotify and make sure that it has changed.

BROWSEC: All you have to do is to go to www.browsec.com. Then you have to click on “Install Browsec for free”. Once you clicked there, Browsec will be installed with your preferred broswer (Opera, Firefox or Chrome). Follow the instructions and select “United States” as your country. Then you have to check your location on Spotify and make sure that it has changed.

FLYERS! FLYERS EVERYWHERE!

Hi, guys! Today we are here to introduce you a new part of this project. As you know, now it is possible to pre-order “Back To You” (find out here how you can do). For this reason we decided to make flyers to promote the song! All you have to do is to print the flyers and to hand them out in your city. The flyers are written in English, because we wanted to do a “standard” flyer that every country can use, without using a specific language and without putting references to a specific country.

You can choose to print the flyer that you prefer! Remember to be polite, guys. Pay attention to the places where you are going to leave the flyers, because there are places where you can’t hand them out. Be careful and don’t be rude.
