"Please, I'm busy teaching these kids how to defend themselves," Lorna scoffs playfully as she stops at Daryl's side. Truthfully, she knows herself well enough to know that she can't stomach hunting and catching in any capacity. Now, she's not stupid or disillusioned what it takes to feed everyone in the underground, but she's lucky people like Daryl and John are here to do it so she doesn't have to.
Still, despite her shortcomings- that she'll never admit to- when it comes to hunting, she'll do her part in it.
Shoving her hands into her pockets, she raises onto her tiptoes before ending flat on her feet once more, gazing over the workspace curiously.
"Tell me about the parts, though. Is there anything I should keep a look out for?"

The random parts that Lorna offers to him aren't necessarily useless. Though not all of them are viable for trap-making-- some parts too small, some too big, some screws and bolts the wrong size-- that doesn't mean they can't be put to use in other ways. Already he's thinking of some of the vehicles the Underground have both scavenged and used to the point of semi-permanent fatigue. Already he's thinking about some of the shelves in this facility that have collapsed due to lack of maintenance to their metal frames.
But, never one to be dishonest, Daryl picks up a screw that definitely won't work and says: "Not all of 'em fit, but they can go into other things anyway.
"I really gotta start teachin' you how to make 'em on your own."
The screw is tossed upward and then caught in the gentle curl of Daryl's fist.
"You know, when John told me you were out walkin' I didn't think you were gonna be scavenging shit for me."

"Hey, @backwaterscum," Lorna calls out as she reenters the building the mutant underground hid in. It was weird enough having the Strucker parents around, but at least they were parents of mutants.
Daryl? Well, he wasn't a mutant somehow, but he also definitely wasn't human. If she hadn't seen his immortality herself, she wouldn't have believed it, and with the way Sentinel Services was rounding anyone and everyone up, she knew they had to try and protect him, too.
Granted, it became very apparent very quickly that he doesn't require protection, but he helped save her, Reed, and everyone else involved in their breakout. The least she could do was watch his back.

"I found some more parts for your traps," she explains as she uses her abilities to delicately set the scraps of metal and miscellaneous parts down onto the table Daryl's seemingly working on. "If those work out, let me know. I'll head back and gather the rest."
