Did Tony Khan encourage the bombing of Iran out of spite, to stop CM Punk of living out his dream of wrestling in Saudi Arabia?

AEW talent were caught betting on matches during the show, stirring rumors that Tony Khan is unable to pay salaries. Is this the latest sign AEW will be dead by August?

Not only does Tony Khan have so little control over his locker room that Brody King is selling a t-shirt of his extremely divisive moment on Dynamite when politics have no place in wrestling (unless they are serving a conservative or fascist agenda), but they are giving the profits to charity instead of using them to bolster their bottom line. How can any fans get behind this garbage? 🤣😂🤣

why are they saying that Kota Ibushi returns next week he already returned tonight i literally saw him why are they gaslighting us this is why i hate aew
AEW is such a mess right now, clearly just trying to survive moment-to-moment. This Ibushi guy gets thrown on TV before he's ready, with no build up, no video packages to explain who he is, but AEW marks are so brainwashed by the cult that they react like Ibushi and Omega have a fifteen-year relationship that spans multiple promotions and was hugely influential in modernizing long-term storytelling in wrestling. AEW is such a joke.

Is Tony Khan bombing Iran to distract from Dynamite's sinking ratings?
#aew#aew discourse#tw: politics#tw: war#tw: iran#tw: us politics#tw: the dehumanization of people in arab countries to further western political interests and profit the war machine#tw: the fucking obnoxious centrist take that everything is a distraction and not the actual crisis worth caring about

AEW debuting this "Kota Ibushi" guy with no video packages to explain who is and inserting him into the Kenny Omega story with no history on backstory. 😂🤣😂

Oof. Such a bad look to have Jon Moxley in the opening match against AR Fox. Has AEW lost confidence in Mox because the Death Riders storyline is dead in the water? What does anyone get out of this other than a fun match with wrestlers they like seeing?

i didnt notice a single sponser in grand slam mexico. surely this means that sponsers have given up on aew, and aew is dead in the water
There was so much empty space AEW could have used for advertisements. However, AEW's biggest problem is too much of their show is content. We were an hour into Grand Slam, and AEW had spent its time on the Hangman promo and two wrestling matches. Outside of their normal commercial breaks, they didn't have a single video selling products on the actual show. Giving the audience a quality product they paid for is such awful business when you could be juicing them for even more advertising dollars.

AEW combining two belts into one has to be a cost-cutting measure that shows they're operating in the red and spiraling hard.
Exactly. I constantly complain that they have too many belts, but the only reason I can imagine they would combine a title is because they can't afford two anymore.

Was forced to go to the Brand New concert last night, which really cut into my precious time with my YouTube algorithm. The concert wasn’t even very good. They played a lot of songs I liked, but I saw several empty seats. Wasn’t a sell out crowd, so it was a massive failure.

This is bad, real bad, for AEW. The last thing this dying company needs is to be on the right side of history, and once you’ve lost FOX News, you’ve lost the racists, weirdos (pejorative), and irrationally angry sixty-year-olds whose brains are cooked by propaganda. This company will be dead by August 🤣😂🤣
#aew#aew discourse#tw: politics#tw: Fox News#the actual funny thing in the article is that they list all fourteen wrestlers in Brody’s match#it’s an entire paragraph#shout out to the intern who is just trying to meet the word count I guess

100% this. Last night showed AEW is in the mud when it comes to compliance.
youre gonna hear a lot of 'keep politics out of wrestling' takes. remember that silence can also be compliance.

Too many people on Bluesky are talking about how Grand Slam Mexico "respected" the culture. Okay, but WWE Worlds Collide legitimized it. 😂🤣😂

I spent about ninety minutes this morning zooming in and analyzing this photo and others from Grand Slam Mexico, and even though the announcers said there were 10,000 fans, you can clearly make out a few empty seats. It's such pathetic, loser behavior for AEW to "thank" all the "fans" when they had some seats empty! 😂😂🤣

The only truly good part of AEW Grand Slam Mexico was Lio Rush's Temu gimp mask.

Now that it's over, AEW should have canceled Grand Slam Mexico. WWE had the better lucha partner--AAA (which must be more important and better established than CMLL since WWE purchased it). Large parts of the show were confusing, like Hangman's promo in another language. There was also a weird anti-bigotry/pro-Latino vibe that made me feel personally attacked.
