i can love fictional characters despite not liking every aspect of how they were written, and i will love fictional characters despite the flaws in their creation being dealbreakers for other people, and no one can stop me from loving the shit out of the fictional characters that i choose to love and often will actually love harder in the face of opposition

i love how half of self shippers absolutely refuse to f/o certain characters after pining for them for months if not years, and then as soon as the other half feels an inkling of attraction they automatically go on the f/o list shrhdh

Idk who else needs to hear this but yknow what? It’s ok not to be an “expert” on your F/O.

I mean that as in, you can ship yourself with them before you know all of their lore! Its ok if you’re not deep enough in the meta or dont have the energy to analyse them and their canon deeply. It’s also okay to have headcanons that stray far from the “popular opinion” because everyone’s experience with a character is unique!

Self shipping is about spreading love and positivity. It’s okay not to be the ~ultimate expert~. It’s ok if your love is different from someone else’s. Doesn’t mean you’re loving them wrong. You’re just doing you, and your F/Os loves you for that!!
