it's finished!! this will be a baby shower gift for a a coworker I share a desk with. I wanted to put in the effort to make something nice without overworking myself by being too fussy. I'm really happy with how it turned out but I'm AMAZED I actually finished it!

I finished piecing the quilt top for the baby blanket I'm making for a coworker. It's about 46x55 inches right now.

I finished another quilting project, this one is 7 inches square, destined to be a mat for my cat's water bowl so it doesn't scratch the floor. I used the Here Kitty Kitty mini charm pack from Moda, but the backing is something I already owned.

This was mostly done in the car on the way to/back from NJ for a weekend trip, although I basted the paper before we left and finished the edges when we got back.

it's hard to get good colors because it's nighttime but it's finished!! I tried a few different patterns for the quilting and pulled each one out before deciding on the leaf pattern 🍂

The finished size is 11x6 inches. I'm not very happy with the corners, but I am happy that it's finished and not put off for later just because it's not perfect.

I'll have to pick up some batting and decide on a backing, but we're going to storage today to get my fabric so maybe I'll have something in there I can use :)

I have improved the visibility of the embroidery

I picked out a backing, and then on to the embroidery:

I basted the top to the batting for stability because I couldn't find my hoop. In progress:

then finished and trimmed:

I'm a little disappointed with how well I matched the thread for the embroidery, kinda wish I had done it in yellow, but for now it's done and it is what it is.

I pinned the quilt top and batting to the backing and hopefully tomorrow I can get the quilting done and then wrap the edges

all 20 blocks for Ricky's quilt are finished and I've decided on a layout :) now to work on the ground color! I'm hoping I can finish the quilt top before the new year
